...unless you want an instant, intense and prolonged niacin flush. :aargh4:

I take niacin for HDL improvement and flush pretty much every time, but it's minimal in intensity and duration. This is something else right here!
 
ive been taking niacin for about 2 months for cholesterol too, only get flushed maybe 1-2 times a week

yeterday i took it and got the craziest flush. red ALL OVER. splotches. i could feel it crawling all over my body, and it kinda hurt. it was freaking intense.

Only thing I can think of is that I took dayquil that day? it was weird.

i do not like the flush at all, glad i barely ever get it
 
Do you take it on an empty stomach? I take mine first thing in the AM; 30 mkinutes prior to eating my breakfast. By the time I sit down to eat, BAMM - I am lit up like a Christmas Tree!
 
I take mine right before bed after my pre-bed shake/meal. I typically do NOT take Anabolic Pump with that meal, but it had a ton of carbs, so I threw them down. BAD move!

It got worse after I posted this. My body went into shivers for an HOUR while I was flushing. Absolutely horrible! I've never had shivers during/after a flush.

You can take asprin to break the flush, but I don't ever keep asprin in the house. I think I'll be grabbing some now...
 
Because non-flushing niacin doesn't have the same beneficial effects on HDL.

The flush is actually a good thing... it's just annoying as hell.

I take Niaspan. Its script time released Niacin. 2000 mgs at bedtime. The flush can be unreal. I could only imagine taking something that would make it stronger lol lol

I kinda dig the flush most of the time. But it can be a little painful if its too intense - like my skin is hot to the touch. Mine's usually fairly mild, and for some reason it tends to elevate my mood, although it only lasts for 30 minutes or so.
 
That Niaspan can be unreal if taken on an empty stomach. I enjoy a light flush in the morning; although, I’ve had some so intense that I seriously thought I was on fire. Taking a hot shower during such an intense flush IS NOT RECOMMENDED!

This is one of the most original things I have read in a while. Quite hilarious!
 
I've noticed this with all nutrient partitioners. Makes Purple Wraath during a workout that much more annoying (Beta Alanine included).
 
I was taking Niaspan as well, but my insurance doesn't cover much of it, so I switched to straight nicotinic acid (cheaper, just not time-released). I was only taking 500mg though. I couldn't even imagine what a 2000mg flush would feel like (and don't want to know).

I sometimes throw powdered niacin in with my beta alanine preWO drink. Then I notice people staring at me as I turn beet red whether I'm lifting or resting. lol
