new protein

A friend of mine was telling me about a new type of protein called "hemp protein". I know it sounds weird, but I was curious if anyone has heard of it before. It's claim to fame is that it is a better protein and can be absorbed quicker and better than whey protein and because of this you can take less protein and get the same results as if you were loading up on regular protein(whey, caseine, isolate) it. He had to order it and it would take roughly 2 weeks to arrive, but offered me a chance to buy a tub off him and try it out. I would still use whey with it because I'm still unsure about it, but he would not believing its true. Hemp protein is supposed to be all natural and very good for you besides the protein aswell. Ill let everyone know more when I know more, but other wise I was curious is anyone has heard about it.

I would suspect that the amino acid profile isnt as good as a milk or egg based product such as whey , casein, or egg albumen Its probably cheaper too .Personally i wouldnt touch it but that my choice.

Pros:
* High in Omega-3's and Omega 6's
* Carb source is all fiber

Cons:
* Tastes gross
* Not much cheaper than whey
* Low amount of protein (average of 15g per serving)
* Tastes gross

The problem with most of these alternative sources of protein is that nobody took the time to make it a product and flavor it correctly. If you wear birkenstocks it might appeal to you but drinking a glass full of plant-flavored water I will pass.

But if one was a vegan this would be a great choice to supplement with. I know TrueProtein offers it.

True, there's alot of them; pea protein, hemp, soy.

There's actually a soy put out by a company that contains whey. :cussing::icon_lol:
