Fight For Your rights people. Mods, I obviously do not post much here so delete this or parts if I am doing anything wrong. I am not trying to cause a negative vibe. Just trying to organize the masses to protect our supps.

The American Association for Health Freedom is trying to stop the madness as well. I joined their mailing list because they seem to stay up to date with how the government is trying take away our rights with regards to HRT or over the counter supps. today I had to show you all so maybe you can jump on board to try to stop our supps from being outlawed.

You may not use hormonal products so you might be reading this saying to yourself, "good luck Rike but I only use protein or amino acids". The thing is, I I do not use them myself but only advise a few of my clients on how to use them. I do love many other supps however. The way this is going, no supplement will be safe from being banned or controlled. Protein can get banned, too, because "it harms our kidneys". Don't laugh, if we do not make noise we will loose the freedom to choose.

Write your gov't officials. I believe there is a link on the AAHF site that will auto fill the email so all you need is your name and address. Let your voice be heard. Do not leave it for someone else. Do not leave this fight for the various supplement companies and NutraPlanet. WE ALL HAVE TO PITCH IN!!!

Sent, I hope my congressional officials get tired of my sending them all these concerns and actually do something about it.
 
As much as I appreciate your desire to protect our rights I take issue with taking issue with blaming the Government on the matter of Legislation.

When are we going to see the supplement advocates joining together to flush out the unscrupulous supplement manufacturers who manufacture illegal products, using bogus nomencalture, and/or contaminated ingredients with the sole intention of slipping through loop-holes in laws with the primary intention and interest of generating revenue and profits at the expense of the consumer and industry?

We are so quick to blame the Government for the situation that the industry itself created when left to it's "right" to do, to, and with itself.

There is no supplement innovation in the supplement industry. There is only supplement revenue and profit.
 
While I like to hope sending letters like this will help, I doubt it. You can debate till the end of time abot the ethics of Supplement companies. But overall fitness supplements, as well as all hormonals (deffinally hormonals) have a bad rap. The overall population of America has this view as its just not good for you . While a good amount of americans will jump all over the newest way to drop 10 pound still eating everything they want, they will curse anything slightly related to steriods cause clearly they are as bad as other S-III substances.
In other words, any Offical that doesn't have a large stake in the industry would be committing political suicide standing against banning of hormonals

do you feel anabolic, androgenic steroids, and w/e falls into that catagory should be an class 3 controlled substance?
 
Feel? It's not about my feelings.

The steroid designers and manufacturers have been rubbing this in the face of the government for 30 years.

Placing steroids in dietary supplements makes them steroids. Steroid designers and manufacturers have ruined the dietary supplement industry, not the government.


I don't care how they are scheduled.

your points are well taken, but my point was not to save PH's/DS's not "blame" the gov't. It was to save supps period. Our gov't expects us all to say " it is useless to fight it" whether it be supps or taxes or unjust laws or even the war. They count on all of us to give up and not fight.
My point was to get it out there that we need to fight for our supps and I only brought up PH's because usually people read "save our supps" as "save our PH's". That is why I told you all that I do not use them. I do buy them for my various clients when I make a Nutra run if they are running low so I didn't want to seem hypocritical if there was a Nutra employee reading here who saw my name and noticed I said I did not use PH's and saw that I bought them. That's all.

Forums like this help all of us find out who is shady and who it not. I'd rather buy a few bottles of something to find out it sucks and have the ability to dump on the mfg here rather than to have the gov't have the power to completely control any supp they want. Believe me when i tell you. Vitamin B-12 was not the end. Vitamin D may be next. We do a better job than you think as consumers pointing out which supp companies are legit and those who are bunk. Considering the nature of what these are and do I'd rather have it the way it is rather than policed by old out of shape men and women.

Vit B complex
potassium
Magnesium
Calcium/Vit D
Biotin
Multi-vit/mineral pack
Betaine Hydrochloride
chromium
soon to be Glycobol!!

My doctor helped me tweak these to dosages to fit my own personal use but if the gov't gets the power they want, I will loose the power possibly to make my own health choices. That is what i was pointing to. My doctor tells me at 40 I have the health of a 24 year old. I want to be able to keep that leaning in my favor.

But, my point, in the context of this board, is that the same people who use your "staple nutritional supplements" from legitimate "nutritional supplement conscious manufacturing companies" also support those same companies that have ruined it for you by using the avenue of the "nutritional supplement" market and sell their wares.

You (not you specifically) can't say "save my vitamins" out one side of your mouth and then buy steroids from a manufacturer who is breaking the law and it's loop-holes selling steroids with bogus nomenclature and BS "nutritional supplement" labels.

They ruined the entire apple cart and they have been supported and encouraged to do so by the same that scream foul on the government. Now you loose everything.

I agree completely here. The Government steps in when self-regulation is not happening. Unfortunately, anytime profit is involved you will always have some kind of problem with standards. Now with that said, I am not very confident in the Governments ability to fix the problem either.
