Do you guys think it's ok for a 19 yr old to take an AI or a SERM, particularly the AI Novadex XT by gaspari??? I'm just looking for a little test boost to hopefully gain some weight and a little mass. I've been eating like an animal and taking ON pro complex GAINER, but I just can't put on hardly any weight. And frankly I don't have enough money to keep buying all this stuff.

if it's so low then why do it? do you think you're low in test or that you're not producing enough test for a 19 yr old?

novedex, the gaspari supplement is not a SERM and is not the same as nolvadex, also known as tamoxifen citrate, which is.

He understands you, a SERM is a medical drug used for breast cancer, it is not a type of supplement you can buy at the vitamin shoppe.

the new anabloic inovations product Glycobol is apparently safe for your age, why don't you give that a run instead? Novaldex XT gave me headaches and no results... just my 2 cents bro.

Correct, a SERM would be dumb outside of a PCT or a last ditch attempt at fixing a screwed up cycle/PCT.

As for an AI, I doubt you need it. When is the last time you switched to a new WO routine? I dont mean switching up small things.I mean changing lifting frequency, the kinds of workouts, etc. As in if you Bench now, Stop, and find other tricep workouts for about a month, then switch back if you like, or switch to another set of tricep workouts.

Maybe even take a week off lifting completly, when I did that I actually put on some muscle mass. My guess was I was overtraining. Which can halt results. Came back 4lbs heavier throwing up 20lbs more on my bench...

What is your regime like?

Zero V: I usually lift about 5 days a week. and switch up my routine about every month to prevent my body getting used to the same routine. I eat like a damn ape.

Purebred: I don't think my test is low, i just want to get bigger... i've weighed about 180 for almost a year now so i guess i've kind of reached a plateau.

James 1: yes, he understands me now. thanks for making that clear for all of us...

I just don't ****ing understand why people under 6'2'6'3, want to stunt their growth. For most people height is much more intimidating than muscle. What's the point with having 40 inch guns if you're only 5'6, because you used roids when you were 16. You can gain muscle all you life, but you can only grow taller when your under 20 (mostly). Just my 2 cents;)

At 19 testosterone will be sky high whilest estrogen will be at a minimum -you dont need an AI OR A SERM.As far as i understand it its as you get older you develop more of the aromatase enzyme. From what ive read its possible for a 59 yr old man to have more estrogen than a 50 yr old woman.

The fact that you can eat and eat without out gaining weight is down to your metabolism and age .Maybe try creatine or a nutrient partitioning supplement such as neovar which has both. Personally i feel an AI/SERM or TEST boost is not what you need

Cut back on your routine, aerobics for example leave out of your routine .Concentrate on the main muscle groups, chest, back , legs,-bench press/ deadlifts/ squats. Dont bother with small muscle groups, biceps/triceps /calves. Try this for 3 months and see how you go .Train 3 days a week , get plenty of rest and eat well.Good luck

Another note to make....A test booster I believe helps you reach your maximum natural potential.

Every 19 year old guy I have met(myself included all that time ago....) has enough trouble controlling his hormones.

You likely have more than enough natural test. You are also 19, the male body I think peaks are 25ish? Not sure where I picked that up from. Muscle maturity can play a bit in the size and density field.

Corsaking has the right ideas. You need to cut back on the training. 3 days a week of very heavy and basic lifts: Squats,Deadlifts,Bench,Military, and don't forget the little guys either:Triceps,Biceps,Hams,Calves. This is not a volume routine either. Two styles I like are the 5x5 and DC training. Do some research on these two. Keep eating the same and cut back on the training frequency and you should start to see some body mass increases. I wish I had what you have running through your veins right now IB9!!

I dont think these days we can assume that because of his age, he has high testosterone levels. I am 19 years old aswell, and I have a total test level of 277 ng/dL on a reference range of 250-1200 ng/dL...

it's likely he doesn't have a case of low test. I'd be more than happy to stand corrected if he posts up his labs, though.

at 19 'weak' hormonal supplementation is useless entirely and totally unless you have medically low test. The only thing that could provide any sort of anabolic support for a teen is full blown steroids, test boosters and Ai's are mainly useless for us and no that sure as hell does not mean im suggesting you use steroids to brake the plataue, I suggest a new training program and if anything a slin mimicker such an p-slin, whatever age you are increased nutrient uptake is always useful.

Not sure about in the US, but in Canada the doctors get audited and the amount of blood tests they prescribe is scrutinized, so some doctors won't be prescribing a whole slew of unnecessary bloodwork.
oh...
heck i just asked my doc to run blood work, and he said sure thing.

i get it done pretty often.

Some forms of insurance won't cover it if you "just ask em to run blood work"

So, it's always a good idea to maybe BS a little to get him to test for a legitimate reason... If things come back normal, no harm no foul. He'll just tell you to get more rest, eat healthier, etc.

if you have acne on your face and/or back, get an erection at the slightest thought of sex and at times when you really dont want it, wake up in a morning with morning wood , then i would suggest you havent low test.

Do you really think you have low test or are you trying to get some lab work done to confirm one or the other?

you've reached a plateau at your current caloric intake, not in muscle gain. ur not going to gain anymore with a supplement if u don't up your cals to compensate for it. so instead of going on about low test levels at 19 try adding a little more to ur diet. i'm surprised nobody chimed in about this earlier.

posts like this make u realize why muscle tech does what they do. they can play with the emotions of a kid who thinks he's reached his peak at 19 years old and they will fall straight for it. i hate them as a company but it's pure genius.

exploiting the weaknesses of others to enrich yourself: it's one of the oldest tricks in the book. you go after the stupid ones first when trying to make the masses believe something and anything.

When he states he is doing everything a NORMAL kid his age can do, we assume he has enough running through him. Care to share some of your feelings that is directly contributed to low test?

I say go to the Doc and get bloodwork done thats how you will really know whats going on. Then im sure if its low then he can prescribe you something. But I would at least get bloodwork done to see what the results are.

again why is everybody stuck on the low testosterone idea? the kid said he's been stuck at the same weight for a while but had made progress before. he thinks he hit a plateau so he assumes his test levels are low. he's not complaining about being tired, impotent, losing appetite, absolutely no signs of having low test levels. he simply needs more food and maybe some creatine and up the protein intake

Well if your saying he hit a plateau then I suggest 1 WEEK BREAK. If you wanna get technical his body has became use to the things he does. Instead of trying to add more stuff on the plate I suggest 1 week break then go back at it.

And some don't understand the room for rest...to grow that is. But anywho eat more try that like they suggested maybe that will help. Im not going to argue about the idea of eatting more I agree in that area. So try it bump up calories maybe you will see more results.

Yes eat big to get big...

However the kid is obviously fearing he may have low test... instead of pretending to know everything about growing and bodybuilding why not recommend he sees a doctor? The majority of kids his age are gonna have health insurance due to working full time or being under parents while in college... so whats there to lose? a 25 dollar co-pay? And being able to rest assured that he doesn't have test issues? At least that way if for some ungodly reason he does have low test issues it can be addressed.

Now back to the beginning, while telling people to eat right is the answer the MAJORITY of the time... its not ALWAYS the answer. Everyone is different and everyone doesn't have the same test levels.
