banaba extract dosing help
ok i am in the process of moving to a new house.i came across 2 containers of banaba extract 20% (40 grams total).how should i dose this? 100mgs is the suggested dosage but i think the seller was going by pslin .i just saw nutra is selling bulk pslin and the recommended dosage is 400 2x a day. i am assuming pslin is banaba? i basically wanna know if 400 mgs of banaba 2x a day is safe? opinions please

We mainly use the 1%- an effective dose is roughly 300-600 mg/day- if it is 20%- divide that by 20, so you are looking at 15-30 mg/day- 400 mg of the 20% would probably make you a little loopy, unless you took it with a ton of carbs....Dirk Tanis, BA, MSci

I believe PSLIN contains 150mg of 20% corosolic acid.
I'd say 200mg sounds like a sure shot.. Use it like bulk p-slin..
PLEASE, keep us updated. I'm very interested in this product.

However to the OP, I would say shoot for 30mg of pure CA like in PSlin, which would require about 150mg of your 20%. I have some 20% sitting here too, just haven't had the time to cap it yet.

Meanwhile, we found Corosolic acid was able to enhance glucose uptake stimulated by submaximal concentration of insulin (1 or 10 nM) and this synergic effect was covered by maximal concentration of insulin (100 nM). These results hinted us that it could improve the sensitivity of L6 myotubes to insulin. In order to validate the hypothesis, we used Wortmannin, a PI3 Kinase specific inhibitor, to block intrinsic insulin pathway. The compound induced enhancement on glucose uptake was abolished by Wortmannin completely. This hinted us that it might enhance glucose uptake via insulin pathway. Meanwhile, we tested the effect of Corosolic acid on AMPK pathway, the other distinct signaling pathway to stimulate glucose uptake which can be activated by muscle contraction/exercise in physiological condition, and the result showed AMPK could not be activated by Corosolic acid.
