Supplements to Aid in Injury Rehab?

So, I have a medial miniscus tear. I thought it was cool, but I have re-aggravated it. I have been told that glucosamine and chondroitin help. Are there any other ingredients I could use that you know of to help out the recovery?

Also, I have been told that those types of injuries don't heal as fast or at all (at times) due to low blood circulation to that part of the body. Are there any topical products that could help in that area?

Thanks for any and all help!

I'm no expert, but I've used nutraplanets' capped cissus for every injury i've had as far a joints are concerned. It works 100% of the time everytime. I would suggest contacting dsade on this forum, if he is still here.

I've never had any luck with the joint meds(not to say they don't work for others-many swear by cissus). Unfortunately there aren't too many things other than time and rehab that will help, but I felt anti-oxidants and active enzymes had a part in my rotator cuff recovery.
Best of luck. I know how much it sucks when an injury stops your progress.

When I say enzymes I mean chymotrypsin, trypsin, bromelain specificaly. They can clear out inflamation and give the injury some room to heal.

Yeah, it's not a big deal lifting wise, but my BJJ suffers greatly because of this injury. Nearly all of my techniques can't be done with this gay injury.

so far, osteo sport has provided the most relief to my knee, shoulder and elbow. (I have patella tendonitis, tendonitis in the short head of my bicep - shoulder, AC joint separation, arthritis in my AC joint, and possibly bursitis - spelling?).

I've used super cissus RX and it worked very well for a long time, but I can def see more benefits from the osteo sport

I think I'm going to re-stock up on fish oil again and go with osteo-sport. Anybody else have anything else to add?

The doctor tells me icyhot, bengay, and all the likes are mental. They make you feel better without actually aiding in recovery.

Icy Hot is great if it is the type of pain nothing gets rid of- I had burisitis in my heel two years ago during football season, and everything that I normally took did nothing for it (probably b/c I wouldn't sit out even though I needed to)- I used Icy Hot as a last-ditch type thing- it worked, and kept me playing. The only problem was, once it wore off- the pain was always about 10x worse.....

I have the exact same problem as you, I popped my knee rolling 2 weeks ago. Its a lot better for the most part but my lateral movement has suffered a lot and there is still pain at certain angles.

I've been mega dosing glucosamine and MSM with little success. Will osteo-sport just mask this or take it away? Anyone have experience with something hormonal for recovery?

The first time around, I used fish oil and glucosamine with chondroitin and it helped a lot. Also, masaging the area for a long time every day helps because I drives more blood to the wound which helps greatly.

I find MSM works the best with glucosamine.

osteo-sport will take it away. go to search and check out reviews. Its also got the antioxidant benefits as well as the cissus
