Athritis & joint pain

Need some opinions, looking for something to assist in joint pain.

Haveing quite a bit of pain in the hips ( athritis ).

Currently useing the standard joint support ( G & C ) but still looking for something else.

Would cissus be good for this or what would some of you recommned?

Megadosing Cissus (50%)...as in 5-10grams per day...does wonders for all my joints...and 'snap, crackle, pop' live inside mine...

Cissus won't help much. Essentials, OsteoSport, fish oil, and Curcumin are good options.

I have tried many things, but still in the morning its sounds like rice cripsies ( snap, crackle, pop) from the old ankles, and my hips just ache( POOR ME )

Currently useing Bioflex, fish oil, was useing the Orange Triad, just wanted to try something different.

I'll have to check into the Essentials + joint complex!!!!!!

What about shark catilage????

so cissus is a yes or no????

Check out Osteo-sport it's our newest joint support for athletes. All the technical write up's on on the site and the label to show you the ingredient deck. It basically combines old thougtht process (Glucosomine, Chondroitin and MSM) with a new way of thinking (40% cissus) to give you the best of both worlds.

Cissus is good for tendon issues, but won't help cartilege or arthritis, though it might help the pain associated with arthritis.

High dose cissus can actually make joints hurt, just like some anti-cort supps, as cissus has anti-cortisol effects.

Go with SuperCissus RX; it is one of the best supplements out there for helping with joints. It reduces pain AND repairs the joint. Here is a review thread:

Well it helps with all the messed up cartilage in my elbows...so it WORKS for me...just again i have to megadose it and it works...of course just supplementing with that isnt the best option... a variety of different products should be used...but cissus is the product that does the most compared to all the other joint supplements out there...

Again, it DID NOT do anything for my arthritis specific problems.

Have you tried Animal Flex?

What makes Animal Flex different from other joint supplements:

Most joint supplements have the regular glucosamine/chondroitin/msm. These are effective joint supporting nutrients. Animal Flex contains these nutrients in adequate doses however it does not stop there and here is where the differences are:

Animal Flex, like other Animal supplements, is complete and comprehensive. Each pack of Animal Flex consists of several key protective complexes: (1) a potent joint construction complex to help repair connective tissue; (2) a lubrication compound to help cushion the joints from lifting; (3) a support complex to help promote rehabilitation and reduce soreness; and (4) an essential vitamin/mineral blend to underscore optimal joint health.

Animal Flex has some patented ingredients that you won’t find in other joint supplements such as CMO:

WHAT IS CETYLMYRISTOLEATE ?
Cetyl Myristoleate is an all-natural medium chain fatty acid found in only a small number of very select species of animals. Clinical experience suggests that Cetyl Myristoleate acts as an anti-inflammatory, as well as a surfactant and lubricant for damaged joints. Basically, it makes them more "slippery." This substance holds the promise of being the most effective solution to joint problems of any product ever introduced into the market. It is not habit-forming and contains no harsh chemicals or drugs that can cause side effects. It works in a natural manner by acting at the site of inflammation, is highly resistant to oxidation, it has a relatively long life in the body.

Bromelain is another ingredient that you don’t find in other joint supplements. Bromelain is useful in the treatment of a wide range of conditions, but it is particularly effective in relieving inflammation associated with infection and physical injuries.
These are just a couple of ingredients that make Animal Flex stand out.

same here, have not seen the 50%, i thought most was 5%
I have seen up to 70% on some price lists- I wouldn't trust it tho- at least not without a good standard to test up against...

btw- is that an American Bulldog?

with all the suggestions, you can become more confused as what to take. At this point, you might have to play russian roulette, and take a shot at which ever you choose and hope you score. I have the snap crackle and pop in my elbows and knees as well (all that para jumping), and have yet to find something that helps. I was considering cissus, but now I leaning towards either animal flex, and that osteo sport thinggy. I might just get them both. So, samples guys hint hint. Ultimately you should expect to spend more than you planned trying to find something that works. Who knows, you might score on the first purchase. Good luck, sorry about your pain. I will let you all know what I eventually went with , and how it worked. Sorry for the long wind.....oops.

If I can find something that works ( even if by trial and error), it will be worth it.

Several quality products have been suggested, so I will just have to coose one, try it for 2-3 months and see how I respond, and continue until I fins something that helps.

I knew I would get a lot of different opinions, thats why I like this forum, everyone doesn't jump on a bandwagon and only push one thing.

Lots of knowledge hear, so thanks to all the responses, they are appreceated on this question as well as several others I have ask. I'm sure I will have more.

How much glucosamine msm chrondrine and Cetyl Myristoleate does it contain? I mean individual doses?

can't speak for Animal Flex, but have heard it is a really good product- as far as CMO in Osteo-Sport- between 30 and 40% of the total constituent mixture (can't give exact formula out)...

Definitely back up poison, The Tanya, Thanos, and rms80 in recommending OsteoSport. I've seen great results on it, and so has everyone else who has tried it thus far!

Animal flex has great ingredients I'm about two weeks in and since I started taking it I'm out of the injury and into rehabbing my elbow. It might have been this product it might have been time hard to tell. Since I have started taking it I can train lightly.(and I wasn't training at all before, it caused too much pain) I give Animal Flex two thumbs up. Ive not lifted for six months before this on upper body.(except deadlifts for three of them months and thats it)

hahaha, all the reps came out pimping their products

OsteoSport by itself maybe does 1.5 times it self

Or Animal Flex plus some supercissus, bulk cissus or any form of cissus

All three of the products are good, and cissus help more with relief, but some studies/people actually says it can rebuild some of the stuff down there. Something like animal flex would take at least 2 months to notice great effects, since its ingrediants are more protection, than recovery, like they said in their write up, to take it year round.
Osteosport combine both, but i think it underdosed, maybe.

Cissus won't help much. Essentials, OsteoSport, fish oil, and Curcumin are good options.

That's biased... Cissus is great, and getting 100grams at Nutra is definitely worth a try for $10, before spending big $ for your new essentials....

First off thanks again for all the replies.

Thank the REPS for throwing their products out there. Thats gives me a good list to review and consider.

Thanks to eveeryone else for their opinions either way.

I'm not looking for short term releif, need something for long term. Actually will use one product for 3-4 months and then change up so my body doesn't adapt to it and stop responding.

Now to start ordering and see for myself.

Biased? How so?

I agree, cissus is great, but it's not for arthritis. It doesn't effect cartilage issues, as far as research and Ayurveda show, only broken bones and tendon issues. Cissus will likely be a waste of money, which would be better spent on the supplements recommended for cartilage issues.

animal flex or osteosport would be my first choices to help with cartilages, if they wouldn't work I would try alflutop, you need to pin yourself but some guys swear for it...

I would also agree cissus will not help overall. It will provide some relief due to its anti-inflammatory properties, but its not going to do any more than that. I use Animal Flex and like it. I do also use cissus, but not for the same reasons. I use cissus for anti-inflammatory reasons as well as gastrointestinal reasons too. People get confused when taking cissus. Just because your pain dimishes, does not mean the cissus has helped the problem. Go off the cissus and immediately your problem is back. Its more of a masking agent, kinda like a pain killer.
