hey guys, i'm new here, as u can see.
I have a quesiton

Currently i'm taking Wheybolic 60.(GNC brand)
I'm almost outa the jar, and is there anything else thats better?

-like the taste is just fukin disgusting,
-but if there is sumthing fukin awesome, ill take it;regardless of the taste.

i'm just lookin for sumin thats going to give me results
(the guy at GNC told me this is by far the best product they got, and has sold alot of em)

*Just to ask, is Wheybolic extreme 60 even good?
(i know alot of ppl here say GNC is bad and etc, but regardless of the Price, are they good?)

ON Whey Protien is probably one of the best, and there are a good selection of flavors.

Also, I really enjoyed Isopure, and Nectar and got great results from them. Nectar has a really good assortment of fruity flavors, and is low in calories.

ahh thanks, yea alot of ppl say On whey is good.
But u think dats better then Wheybolic?

Yo but i was lookin at

hows that compare to

Danks,!

I personally use the ON 100% gold... I love it.. For post workout, I just chug down 2 scoops with 1 serving of ON BCAA 5000 and 2 slices of white bread...

What kind of results are you looking for? AfterMax is pretty expensive...

1st mistake is buying anything from GNC. Use a board sponsor like Invalid Link Removed They have great prices and QUALITY stuff. If a weight gainer is what you are after, buy a jug of maltodextrin from them too.

Well i dont really care about price , if its like 10 dollars diff.(not to be snoty)

But wuts After Max do?, is it like ON Whey?

I'm looking for anything like whey protein, With alot of protein to build muscle and build up strength
i'm not necessarily looking for weight gainers, or weight lose.(but the calories can be high)(i dont care =) )

Something that gives my pre and post work out shakes

Thanks,

a great buy is Scivation's whey! I love the chocolate and it's on sale right now at Nutraplanet, $60 for 10 lbs.

American Whey is hands down my favorite protein powder. Iv tried a ton of different stuff. The taste is amazing. .05g of fat, 6g of carbs, zero sodium, and 25g protein per serving. You can get 25 pounds of this stuff for around 140 dollars, and its worth every penny. Not to mention its 100% cold filtered whey with digestive enzymes and vitamins and minerals. Also has a good Amino Acid profile. That will last you 4-6 months at 2-3 50g protein shakes a day.

All the whey all the way!

just to let you know there is nothing with GNC brand protein as it is made by ON. IMO...whey is whey...get whatever is cheapest whenever you buy it!

cause most people are morons. sure GNC is expensive...but everything expires some day and when that days comes i go to GNC! once again...whey is whey!

Now I would buy off the clearance table. Have done that many times. But paying the shelf price is nutz.

I love my NECTAR!!! Iced Tea soooooo good. Doesnt even taste like a shake.

Im also liking the Scivation 10lber of Vanilla I bought. $59.99 for 10lbs, how can you beat that?!

As far as whey protein powders go I like Animal Max, since it not only has a nice blend of different forms of whey it also contains creatine and glutamine in each serving. Taste is pretty good and mixes well.

Its all preference, but I love the taste and quality of any whey isolate from trueprotein.com. I hate GNC brand stuff as in the past its quality has always been questionable and that stuff is usually mostly whey protein concentrate which can give a lot of people digestive issues.

alrite thanks everyone!!!
i just got one more question, its prob stupid though but
Is there any thing that can compare up to whey protien?
like , ehh i cant explain it; but sumthin that will give me aesome pre-and post workouts.

Whole food and quick acting carbs

umm... if I run out of protein ill hit walmart before I hit GNC.

I like ON protein personally but it is not the cheapest out there. Next on my list to try is Scivation. I like the idea of buying 25 lbs of american whey but I think I might get tired of the same flavor.

To the poster

Give me your age, height, bodyweight, and typical activity level and i'll blow your mind.

I'm really hooked on LG Lipotropic Protein. Its a gemma protein. At first I wasn't a huge fan, but now i'm addicted to the stuff. Cheap too...

Gemma isnt too bad, i got it from trueprotein a while back on a deal they were doing. Tasted pretty damn good.

Yes Wheybolic is good.

You obviously know most people are not a fan of GNC so I will not repeat them. What I would like to tell you is that you have quite a few options.

a) If you choose to buy from GNC(or VitaminShoppe etc), look for MRI Pro Nos. From GNC website Wheybolic sells for about 39.99 for Gold card. MRI Pro NOS sells for 43.99 for gold car member, a difference of 4 bucks and it gives you 3 more servings so it will be cheaper. Plus the product is very solid and you will love the taste.

You can start by getting a RTD shake of MRI Pro NOS at your local GNC and see how you find the taste.

b) If you decide to go online then ATW will probably be your best bet. Around 40 bucks will get you 5 pounds of Quality WPI. Other good product is Isopure.

One last suggestion, if you are buying Whey, look for Whey protein isolate(WPI). It will not leave you bloated.

Good luck!

Hey thanks for the comment.

I was lookin into MRI Pro-Nos
and it says it will get me big and ripped, and loose fat

I dont want to or i dont need to loose fat. Honestly i barely got fat on me.
I dont want any of those mass gainers or those bigg calorie supplements.
Sorta just want something with, gain big rip and stronger, dont want to get any skinnier then i am lol.

I'm 5 8'' at age 16, at 130lbs

Any protein will serve one purpose...getting your protein in. NOt getting you big and ripped and the advertisement says. Although it can contribute to this down the road with a good diet along with it, that is not the reason to buy a protein. You just need to eat. Hell, you dont even need protein although it will be very convienent for you. You need to put time in at the dinner table...130 lbs..eat everything you see.

The company does say that it will get you ripped. Now the question becomes is that just a sales pitch?? Does it make you lose weight etc etc? I think the answer is neither actually.

If you check the label on the product it should show you that it has about 15 carbs per servings, and about 9 grams fat. The fat comes from MCT, sunflower, sesamin oil etc. These are known as healthy fats. The carbs and fats are neccessary to make it a complete Meal Replacement drink. At the same time it also scares away the lifters who dont want extra calories. So the company tries to mask it by saying Hey dont worry about fats, it is actually good fat that will get you ripped. Which is true to an extent but noone ever got ripped by merely using a supplement and not busting his hump in the gym, and controlling his diet.

In your case the extra calories would actually be a plus.

Also at 130 lbs you should not worry so much about Whey but more about healthy fats. I suggest you load up on peanut butter, almonds, pecans etc etc.

Oh i see thank u so much.
i went to GNC today(i know they bad)
And i was talking to the guy, i told him "i have Wheybolic Extreme 60" and and running out.
I asked him hows the "ON Whey 100%".
He said that thats a big step down from "Wheybolic Extreme 60"

And Wheybolic 60 is by far the best protein . Because he said they include the amino acids, and blahblah and so on. and saying it has alot of stuff that ON doesnt.

Is he correct?, cause alot of ppl say ON Whey 100% is awesome.

Is he correct?, cause alot of ppl say ON Whey 100% is awesome.

Simple answer. Yes it is awesome. And great value for money.

ON Whey 100% is probably the cheapest, and also has decent quality, Whey protein. You would be better off buying ON and using the saved money for Peanut butter etc.

But those things that the guy at GNC say like it has enzymes and this and that... u think that makes a difference?

If you want to get a healthy body the first thing you will have to do is to stand up for yourself. You can start by reading the Product labels and understanding it.

Example -

3 scoops(82 grams) of Wheybolic gives you 310 calories and 60 grams protein.

1 scoop(32 grams) of ON 100% Whey gives you 120 calories and 24 grams protein.

In other words 3 scoops of ON% will give you 72 grams of proteins. That is 12 grams more than Wheybolic.

Thats 1 for ON%.

Wheybolic sells for $45 for 3 pounds at GNC. ON% sells for 5 pounds for 45$.

Thats 2 for ON.

As for enzymes etc that is generally a fad. You are 16 you should be able to eat anything. if you eat and cant digest you have other problems and whey protein enzymes are not gonna help you.

yea i took my wheybolic and compared the 3 scoops to 1 scoop on ON. i achually did it before u said it.
lol.

Thank u ur so much help, Saurabh.
I got one more for ya, if u dont mind

Should i take ON Whey 100% or MRI PRO-NOS?
ON Whey doesnt have Fiber at all, but PRO-NOS got less protien and double the carbs.

So i'm not really sure which is a better gain for my situation.

TY

I am a big fan of MRI PRO-NOS, have been hounding NP to sell it(almost to the extent that people might think I work for MRI). Between the two I say go with MRI Pro-NOS. For 3 reasons:

a) It is a much more complete protein. It has blend of whey and casein which will give your body a more complete Amino Acid profile that just Whey.

b) It has carbs and healthy fats which boost calories and will help you put on pounds. Since you are 16 and 130 lbs extra calories are a bonus for you.

c) To me it is the best tasting proetin, alongside ATW Cinnamon bun.

I say if you can afford it go with MRI. If you can not then ON% is a very solid product too.

oh man thank you so much for ur help, Saurabh.
ima pick up MRI PRO-NOS tommarow, and ill see if there are any results.

Thanks man ur alot of help!!
Then maybe after MRI ill prob get ON

Thanks again!!, il see if this PRO NOS is sumthing!!!

Also, dont all protein drinks have casein?, isnt that stuff from milk and cheese?

I am sorry i am kind of confused. How does a protein that is already complete become more complete?

This is all you really need. $30 bucks for 5 pounds.. pick up cinnamon bun and cup cake batter.. if you don't have a credit card go to the post office and get a money order for $66 and get this from nutra planet... problem solved :)

Because quite simply Whey is not the complete protein. It has an excellent Amino Acid profile but again, not a complete protein. To sum it up here's what I could pull from the horse's mouth - Optimum Nutrition that makes ON% Whey.

Blended Proteins
If you can only afford one type of protein, this is probably the type that you should go with. Combining faster-, intermediate-, and slower-protein sources in one convenient place, blended proteins give you more sustained protein digestion than single-source proteins like whey, casein, egg, or soy.

If you are going to go for ATW then spend 6 bucks more and go for Whey Protein Isolates. To me the better results have always been from WPIs.

Secondly I have used ATW quite much and am very happy with it. Still it is NOT the only good product in the Whey market and one should work around to see what other good tools are out there.

Also, dont all protein drinks have casein?, isnt that stuff from milk and cheese?

Most dairy based proteins have 80% casein. However the casein part is filtered out since manufactures want to make seperate kind - Whey and Casein. That kind of makes sense since Whey rich protein is fast acting while CAsein is slow releasing.

WHat amino acid is missing from whey's amino profile that makes it an incomplete protein source?

And the link you posted:

Currently the undisputed king of proteins. Here's why: whey proteins are quickly and easily digested (hence the "fast-acting" description that they're often given), they are loaded with essential amino acids (EAAs) – including the three branched chain amino acids (BCAAs), and they contain subcomponents (microfractions) that appear to provide benefits above and beyond amino acids and elemental nitrogen. Whey is one of two major dairy proteins and accounts for about 20% of the protein in milk.

So its got several essentials and all the BCAA's. All the BCAA's...and its incomplete?

WHat amino acid is missing from whey's amino profile that makes it an incomplete protein source?

It is not that Amino Acids are missing, just that one has some more than the others.

Whey is better than in following AA's:
Alanine
Aspartic Acid
Cystine
Threonine
Tryptophan
Isoleucine
Leucine

Casein is better in:
Arginine
Methionine
Phenylalanine
Proline
Glutamine
Serine
Glycine
Histidine
Tyrosine
Valine

(The two are comparison of 1 scoop of ON 100% Whey and ON 100% Casein. You can check the profiles at:

It forgot to mention one more fact - Whey is cheapest form of protein. For a lot of consumers, specially young people who dont have a lot of money, price is a big factor. And so you can get most companies, even big ones, selling 5 pounds of Whey for 35 bucks. You will rarely see Casein selling at the price.

The argument about Whey vs Casein is age old one and is not really settled. I personally like a scoop of Whey and a scoop of Casein to cover all the bases.

So its got several essentials and all the BCAA's. All the BCAA's...and its incomplete?

Like I said before - Blend is a much more complete protein. It has blend of whey and casein which will give your body a more complete Amino Acid profile that just Whey.

So, even though they have differing amounts of amino acids, they are both complete. Because a complete protein has enough of the essential amino acids to be metabolized and used by the body. Whey is very much a complete protein.

Thats upto you I suppose. Personally I think the blend is a complete protein but whatever works for you brother.

no its not what works for me, its science. Whey has a complete amino acid profile. Therefore it is a complete protein. Unlike broccoli, which has protein, but it is not complete and if one was only to east broccoli they would become deficient in amino acids over time. This is the definition of a complete protein. I am telling you this because you are giving advice about the subject...and the advice you are giving are the same reasons why there are so many misconceptions in the industry. This isnt up to me, its up to biochemistry. Just like Beef is a complete protein, or chicken, or maybe fish. They are not more complete if I eat both chicken and fish together, they are still complete protein on there own.

Hey guys how is it going. I got back in the gym about a month ago weighing at about 185, now I weigh 205. I got on Monster Food and V12 and Omnivol. Now I take Revolt and Vault. In the past, Monster Food has worked well for me; it tastes great and mixes easy and well. At first I used to mix my shakes with organic soy, now I mix it with organic rice milk.....BIIIIGGG difference. Just my two cents (or penny) lol.
