1/24/08 - 24th day of Swell

Chest & Bi's
3 sets of 5 - BB Bench Press superset BB Curls
3 sets of 10 - Incline DB Press superset with Preacher Curls
3 sets of 15 - Cable Xovers superset with Cable Curls

Still no cardio

•Dosage: 2 scoops at breakfast and 2 scoops pre w/o

• Strength: Strength was pretty good today. I'm maintaining my strength while losing weight. I'm pleased so far.

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: didn't weigh so I'll say 196

• Pumps/Vascularity: Bi's were exploding after workout. Veins running across biceps are starting to show as well.

• Endurance: Again, limited on time in the gym due to busy work schedule. Had to get in and out, so I reduced rest intervals on all sets and still hit all #'s.

• Focus: Focus was great today.

• Overall Energy: Again, another day of great energy throughout the day.

• Personal Commentary: Don't know if it's the cumulitave effects of Swell, the weight loss, the diet or what, but I've been feeling like a million bucks lately.

Basketball for 1.5 hours

•Dosage: 2 scoops pre w/o and 2 scoops afternoon

• Strength: N/A

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: 197.5 this morning

• Pumps/Vascularity: N/A

• Endurance: For some reason, I was a little sluggish today. I ran fine, but just couldn't kick it into high gear.

• Focus: N/A

• Overall Energy: Energy has been good, not sure why I coudn't take it up a notch playing ball. Usually by the 15 to 20 minute mark everybody slows down a step or two and that's when I try to push it. While I did push it, I had no overdrive.

• Personal Commentary: Nothing new except dissapointed that my weight jumped up. Not sure why as my diet's been spot on.

Maybe a little water?? I know if I eat a can of tuna and dont get an extra liter of water in me I'll usually be a .5-1.0lbs heavier in the am.

• Strength: N/A

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: 195 this morning

• Pumps/Vascularity: N/A

• Endurance: Endurance was good today. Was able to go at a pretty high intensity for the entire length of cardio session.

• Focus: N/A

• Overall Energy: Energy still off the charts.

• Personal Commentary: Pleased to see the weight drop back to normal, but hope it stays and it's just not water loss from basketball.

1/28/08 - 28th day of Swell

Back & Bi's
3 sets of 5 - Sumo DL superset DB Curls
3 sets of 10 - Chin Ups superset with Preacher Curls (forearms and bi's felt like they were going to xplode after this)
3 sets of 15 - bent over reverse db fly superset with concentration curls

10 minutes of LI cardio. Have a bball game tonight as well.

•Dosage: 2 scoops at breakfast and 2 scoops pre basketball

• Strength: Strength seems to be maintaining or even increasing in some lifts even though I'm dieting.

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: Didn't weigh

• Pumps/Vascularity: Forearms and Bi's were hurting they were pumped so much.

• Endurance: In the gym, it was good, but real test comes tonight.

• Focus: Focus was great today.

• Overall Energy:

• Personal Commentary: Everyting is going good today. Looking forward to tonights game.

Routine: Shoulders
3 sets of 5 Military Press superset with DB Lateral Raises
3 sets of 10 DB Upright Rows superset with DB Shrugs
3 sets of 15 Cable front rows superset with 20 reps of sit-ups

In training class all day so no carido

•Dosage: 2 scoops pre w/o and 2 scoops afternoon

• Strength: #'s went up from last shoulder workout.

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: 195 this morning.

• Pumps/Vascularity: Shoulders got an awesome pump.

• Endurance: Great, was able to up the weight and keep the rest intervals the same.

• Focus: Again, superb. Mind was solely on the weights.

• Overall Energy: Still on high.

• Personal Commentary: Won the basketball game last night. The other team was pretty poor, I think we beat them by close to 50 points. I have a 5 year old daughter that plays ball, and I think her team could have played better. As far as endurance, we had 9 players last night. The guys on my team would sub everyone out except me. So it seems other people are noticing I'm not giving out as much as everyone else.

• Overall Energy: Energy still rocking

• Personal Commentary: When I usually hop on the treadmill, I just click manual and enter the speed and incline. Today I chose the Fat Loss routine and it was pretty good. The goal was to keep my heart rate at 121. So I pretty much stayed at a speed of 3.5 and an incline of 10 - 11 for the entire time. It was nice, I'll probably do this from now on.

Yeah, they were so bad, I felt guilty when my team scored because we we're ahead by so much. With about 5 minutes left to go in the game I was telling everybody just hold the ball and not try to score. Honestly, it wasn't even fun because of the lack of competition.

Thanks, the great thing is, I'm the oldest player on the team at 34. Most of the guys are mid 20's.

1/31/08 - 31th day of Swell

Chest & Bi's
3 sets of 5 - BB Bench Press superset Weighted Dips
3 sets of 10 - Incline DB Press superset with DB Overhead Press
3 sets of 15 - Cable Xovers superset with Pushdowns

•Dosage: 2 scoops at breakfast and 2 scoops post w/o

• Strength: Strength was ok. I increased the weight on all tri exercises but had to do rest pause on the last set of most of the tri's to complete the sets.

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: still holding at 196. I think I'm going to drop calories by about 200, cause I've been sticking at 196 for about 2 weeks now.

• Pumps/Vascularity: Honestly, it's been a long time since my tri's were as pumped as they were today.

• Endurance: Endurance was good, had another meeting I had to go to after my workout, so I was in and out of the gym in 30 minutes.

• Focus: Focus was great today.

• Overall Energy: Still good

• Personal Commentary: Been reading up on the Velocity Diet. I think I may give it a go after basketball season is over with.

From some of the posts I've read, it seems to work but I still worry about strength decrease. Sounds like a great diet to lead into the summer time. My idea is to run a 2 week Velocity Diet, then probably Carb Cycle for about 8 weeks then finish up with 2 more weeks on Velocity before hitting the beach for the summer.

Yea good call. I was going to hit it for 2 weeks then go back to my CKD/AD or TKD ways for lean mass then hit it 2 weeks prior to my heavy bulking TKD.

• Personal Commentary: Since playing bball for the last couple of months, I could tell I wasn't in the best of shape endurance wise but today I seemed to have turned the corner. I finally felt like I had my legs under me, and was able to go strong the entire game.

2/4/08 - 35th day of Swell

Decided to switch things up in the gym today and did the high rep exercises first and the low rep last. Definately made it harder at the end trying hit the higher poundages.

Chest & Bi's
3 sets of 15 - Cable Xovers superset with Machine Curls
3 sets of 10 - Incline BB Press superset with Standing DB Curls
3 sets of 5 - DB Bench Press superset Preacher Curls

10 minutes of cardio on treadmill plus bball game tonight.

•Dosage: 2 scoops at breakfast and 2 scoops pre w/o

• Strength: Strength was ok today, but the low rep/high weight was pretty diffucult today due to switching things around.

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: 195

• Pumps/Vascularity: Had a planned carb-up meal (clean) last night and I could really tell a difference in the gym. Had veins exploding out of my arms. Chest was looking pumped too.

• Endurance: Endurance was on par in the gym. Looking forward to tonights game to see how it goes.

• Focus: Focus was great today.

• Overall Energy: I believe the Poseidon complex within Swell works wonderfully. I've been in a good/positive mood since taking this stuff.

• Personal Commentary: Wasn't it nice to see the Pats go down last night. Overall, a really good superbowl.

2/05/08 - 36th day of Swell

Routine: Shoulders
3 sets of 5 Military Press superset with DB Lateral Raises
3 sets of 10 DB Upright Rows superset with DB Shrugs
3 sets of 15 Cable front rows superset with 20 reps of sit-ups

15 minutes of cardio on treadmill - fat burn mode

•Dosage: 2 scoops pre w/o and 2 scoops afternoon

• Strength: #'s went up from last shoulder workout.

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: 196 this morning.

• Pumps/Vascularity: Pump was good but not as noticeble as last shoulder workout.

• Endurance: On par with other days which is higher than normal.

• Focus: Nice

• Overall Energy: Throughout the day, energy has been good, but didn't have as much drive today as I've had in prior days.

• Personal Commentary: Won game last night. We were only up by 3 points at half-time but ended up winning by over 20 points. Our team likes to run, and in 2nd half the other team started getting tired and that's when we pulled ahead.

2/7/08 - 38th day of Swell

Routine: Back & Tri's

Decided to swich high rep and low rep exercises around.
3 sets of 15 - Bent Over Reverse Flys superset with DB Kickbacks
3 sets of 10 - Bent Over BB Rows superset with DB Overhead Press
3 sets of 5 - Weighted Pullups superset with CG Bench Press

15 minutes of cardio on tready

•Dosage: 2 scoops pre w/o and 2 scoops afternoon

• Strength: Strength seemed to be on the rise today. Hit all #'s and confident I could have went higher.

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: Not sure what weight is. Home scale (a digital scale, says 196 in the morning), the scale at the gym (a true scale) in mid-afternoon says 193.

• Pumps/Vascularity: Back Pump was nice. Back had that nice tight feeling.

• Endurance: Endurance was good today, hit all #'s at given rest intervals and felt like I still had some left in the tank.

• Focus: Good

• Overall Energy: Energy still at high.

• Personal Commentary: Had my body fat% taken today on the tanita scales. I'm at 12.1% BF. In November I was at 17% so I'm making nice steady decline. Overall goal is to hover around 9 - 10% and just stay their.

I think the bottle says 60 servings. For the 1st week I also only took half dosage so I could access tolerance to the BA. From the looks of my bottle, I probably have about a week left.

I started at 2 and quickly worked my way up to 4/day. Couldn't help it. It worked to well,lol.

Basketball for 1.5 hours

•Dosage: 2 scoops pre w/o and 2 scoops afternoon

• Strength: N/A

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: 193

• Pumps/Vascularity: N/A

• Endurance: Simply amazing today. Definately the best day endurance wise in a long time. I didn't stop running the entire time of playing.

• Focus: N/A

• Overall Energy: Energy was awesome. I honestly feel and played like I did when I was in my mid-20s today. I felt like I couldn't tire out. Runners high the entire time.

• Personal Commentary: Hoping the way things went today basketball wise carries over into my Monday night game. Again, after 1.5 hours of playing my legs never got heavy, I never got out of breath, and felt like I could play even longer but work got in the way.

Cardio-basketball game tonight

•Dosage: 2 scoops at breakfast and 2 scoops pre basketball

• Strength: Strength was pretty good today. Went up in weight on all bi exercises.

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: was 193 saturday

• Pumps/Vascularity: Super pumped today. Getting to a lower bf%, planned carb-up last night and addition of Swell makes for a very nice veiny/pumped look during a workout.

• Endurance: A+

• Focus: Focus was good but not as noticeable as before. Just came out of a 4 hour meeting before working out, so I think I was mentally drained.

• Overall Energy: Other than the brain fog, energy has been good.

• Personal Commentary: Nothing really, looking forward to tonights game.

Routine: Shoulders
3 sets of 5 DB Push Press superset with DB Front Raise
3 sets of 10 Machine Lateral Raise superset with Cable Side Raises superset with situps
3 sets of 15 seated db shrugs superset with sit-ups
15 minutes on tready at 3.2 speed and 10 incline

•Dosage: 2 scoops breakfast and 2 scoops pre w/o

• Strength: #'s went up from last shoulder workout.

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: Haven't weighed so I'm guessing 193

• Pumps/Vascularity: Shoulders got an awesome pump.

• Endurance: Great, was able to up the weight and keep the rest intervals the same.

• Focus: Better than yesterday but still not high as it was.

• Overall Energy: Still going strong

• Personal Commentary: Won the basketball game last night. Again, not much of a contest. We got up by 25 or 30 early so we pretty much set it on cruise control from halftime on.

Sounds like your team is just too good man. Your always stomping your opponents by 20-30 points, try letting your bench play a little more.

To be honest, it's not because of me that we're winning. We do have the best post player in the league. He played division-1 basketball and football in college, so he's a natural athlete. We pretty much run our entire offense around him. He sets up in the post, we pass into him, and he either shoots or somebody on the team cuts to the basket and he passes off for a layup. He also almost always grabs the defensive rebounds, so we have our guards break to our goals when the defensive team shoots, he grabs the board and throws a long pass for an easy layup.
I usually score around 10-12 points just from the other team double and triple teaming him down low. What ever side he's on, I cut to the basket on the opposite side and get an easy layup.

• Strength: N/A

• Bodyweight/Body Comp: 193

• Pumps/Vascularity: N/A

• Endurance: Felt good the whole cardio session. Got me a magazine and the 40 minutes flew by.

• Focus: N/A

• Overall Energy: Energy still on high

• Personal Commentary: Soaked after the cardio session, but not tired at all.

For some reason I'm picturing the newly aquired shaquille and the suns offense. Looks like it would work something like this, but yeah when you have a dominate big man it makes the game a little easier.
