USPLabs Cissus/Symmetry log
Thanks to USPLabs for selection as an Australian Tester for Cissus MEGA DOSE and Symmetry. I received my four bottles a few days ago and have been megadosing ever since.
I suffered a back injury at work in February and have been in recovery ever since. As such I can no longer do deadlifts, and have some problems with squats, so I train around this. I am very interested to see what Cissus can do for me in this regard.
Supps while on Cissus :
Whey after workout
BCAA during workout
I will be doing a waterbury system detailed on t-nation
I am starting Phase III of this program tonite (Everything is in metric, so X 2.2 for pounds):
A1 Hack Squat Machine(narrow stance) 40X6, 70X6, 70X6
A2 Bentover Rows (palms down grip) 50X8, 50X8, 60X6
B1 Dips - +20X7, +22.5X6, +25X6
B2 Lunges Dumbells - 17.5X6X3
C1 Seated Calf 40X6X3
C2 Incline Bench Press 60X8, 70X6, 65X6
Rest: 60s between pairings
It is Day 4 for me on Cissus, so far nothing to report except a few hot flushes.
I dont count calories. I try and get 5-7 meals a day. I avoid processed foods and am somewhat lactose intolerant.
I eat between 4000-7000cals a day, I have a very fast metabolism.
92kg (will double check tonite).

Gym Today (Nothing to write home about, was rushed):
Seated Bicep Curls : 12.5X12, 15X10
Close grip pulldownsL 50X12, 70X12, 70X8
Standing Calf (feet straight) : 50X12X3
Leg ExtensionsL 40X12, 45X12, 50X12

I would say I noticed a slight 'pump' effect, liltte more than usual, but thats only effect so far.
Note: I'll probably not post entire workouts from here-in, just if weight/reps increase etc. Gotta get up the guts to put some pics up

Hit the gym very hard last night, working out with my partner (will be trying to workout together as much as possible over the next two weeks). It was Chest/Shoulder day. We are going to sit down and workout our training schedule tonite for next fortnight, hopefully the kind of program neither of us has done before.
Gym last night:
Flat Bench, Flat Flyes, Incline Hammer, Crossovers
Seated Shoulder Press, Delt Machine, Front Raises, Rear delt cable
Very large session. My shoulders aren't that strong, but I managed 22.5X8 which is a PB, so that was great, Damn they freakn hurt today, so Cissus aint doing a lot there, maybe it takes a few more days to kick in.
Current max's are (Metric here in aus, but will put to LB for you US guys)
Flat Bench : 220X6
Flat Flyes : 45X10
Front Raises: 28X8
Seated Shoulder : 50X8
Its interesting, my workout parnter is a ****load bigger than me, but on some exercises we are very equal (Flat Bench for instances), but he kills me on Legs/Shoulders/Biceps...

Those doing the megadose logs are using the following protocol:Originally Posted by TSB4me

Yeah thats the protocol I am following. My shoulder joint feels 100& this morning, normally it may have had a slight lingering effect.
My back pain (constant) is still with me however, and this is a combination of nerve/joint/muscle pain, so I can';t really expect cissus to do a whole lot with that.
Nothing else other than my g/f took my shirt off last night and was like "your looking good", which always makes you smile

Thats a great feeling, makes what we do worth it. Keep up the good work bro, I will be following your log.Originally Posted by solarize

Well, my back freakn kills from running on the weekend, I got some physio for it today, so i am confident the pain should be gone by later in the week (I hope). Anyway, cissus might help here, I hope so.
Shoulder pain I had from Fridays great workout is totally gone, and I am sure cissus has helped a bit here.
Dips : +25X6X4
Assisted Chins : 20X6, 15X6X4
DB Tricep Extensions: 15X6X2, 17.5X6, 17.5X6
Hammer Row : 70X8, 70X8, 90X6, 90X6
Standing Calf : 60X8, 70X6X4
Still cant do deadlifts and I skipped back extensions due to the back pain, Otherwise good workout.
Bodyweight is stable.

Gym Tonite (All metric):
A1 Flat Bench DB 22.5X12, 27.5X12, 30X12
A2 Upright Rows (smith) 10asideX12X3
B1 Hack Squat Machine 70X12X3
B2 DB Side Raises 7X12, 8X12, 8X12
C1 Seated Leg Extensions 50X12, 60X12, 65X12

Good workout. Took my partner through my workout routine, and he was pretty tired at the end, he's not used to doing 60sec pauses between exercises. I feel it helps the intensity alot.
Dosing at 12 caps (4/4/4). Nothing new to report.

What's the reason with the running. Is it for cardio conditioning or something else?Just asking cause the running may be contributing to the back issues. Are you running on grass or roads?
06-09-2006, 12:36 AM
Running for general fitness. My physio has advised no running for a while, so I think your right, it is contributing.

Back feeling a bit better today, not painful all day. Perhaps cissus is helping here, will be able to give a definate answer in a few days, if pain is gone, then Cissus is doing 'something'.
A1 Supported Row 40X12X2, 40X10
A2 Seated Dip machine 80X12, 100X12, 120X10
B1 Seated Calf 40X12X3 (Feet angled in)
B2 Hammer Shoulder Press 25X12, 30X9, 30X7
C1 Incline Bench 70X10, 70X8, 70X6
C2 Db Shrugs 32.5X12X3
Cissus: Noticed increased vascularity. Burbs and stools can be a bit smelly at times. Sleep has been deeper, however, hard to say whether that is from all the training or Cissus, can give a better answer in a few days if sleep continues to be good.
Will be starting Symmetry X tommorrow as part of this stack.

Muscle strain from lifting at work.
There is some joint pain and some tendon/ligament damange, supposedly. I have had X-Rays, but they show nothing. Waiting on getting an MRI in the coming months.

Gotcha. I'm in a somewhat similar situation myself, although mine is a disk injury. I went to physiotherapy for a few months myself, and still don't feel 100% yet. Unfortunately I think physio was a bit of a waste for myself, as traction never provided any relief, and it seems the onus for healing comes from myself, both in performing necessary exercises/stretches, and avoiding negative stressors on the disk. How long have you been dealing with the injury?
06-12-2006, 08:18 PM
Cissus 12caps a day, Symmetry 4.
Last two days have been rest.
A1 Front Squat or BB Hack Squat 40X12, 80X12X2
A2 Upright Rows Smith_ 20(side)X10X3
B1 Bicep Curl Rope Drop set 40kg/30/25/20/10
B2 Leg Curls 40X12, 60X12, 65X10
C1 Tricep Pressdown 45X12, 50X12, 60X10
C2 Barbell Curls (Hammer Machine) 20X12, 35X12, 40X8
Rest: 70s between each pairing
Back pain is just niggling me at the moment, but not keeping me up at night. I had over 200mg of valium over the weekend to get it to relax and get some sleep, and I think that has helped with healing, along with Cissus. I am back at work today (after long weekend), so we will see if all the sitting/standing I do has a negative effect. I am going to continue to avoid Squats/Deadlifts for the foreseable future.
I can say with some degree of certainty that Cissus is helping with my joints. My shoulders feel very 'lose' for lack of a better word (or free), and are without pain. I'm 25, so don't really suffer any age related join issues yet, but heavy lifting on shoulders does give pain, and cissus is helping here.
I get joint mobilisation done by my physio on my back and considering my long history with back pain, (since Feb), I think cissus is helping. Not a lot, but a bit, and that for me is enough I don't really take pain killers unless i HAVE to, I'd much rather get well then mask the issue, and nsaid's are ****ty in my book, unless you really need them.
Had some great 'personal' time with my g/f over the weekend, and would say libido was up maybe 10%. Its no Diesel Test increase, but it was more than just normal horniness. I'll continue to megadose Cissus and run the Symmetry till it runs out. So far for me, Cissus is really only providing joint/muscle support and no anabolic effects that I can notice - thats fine, doesn't mean its a bad product. I have very high natural test anyway.
Bodweight : Stable 92.5.
06-13-2006, 06:34 AM
Isolat Pulldown machine 80X10X3
Shoulder Press Smith 20X12, 50X8, 50X8, 50X7
45' Incline 120X10X3
Stand Calf Raises 50X12, 60X12, 70X8
Low row machine 50X12, 60X8, 60X8
DB Side Raise 8X10, 8x10, 8X8
Back still has some pain.... good workout, took some ephedrine pre to help get focused, helped a lot. Shoulders felt really good.
