    I was selected by dito to test Primaforce's new energy product Durablast.

    Cutting while trying to maintain as much muscle mass as possible. I have a slow metabolism due to years of yo-yo weight loss and gains so I am on a perpetual cutting program.

    Day 1, Tuesday 10/4/05


    Tuesday is chest and back day. I took 4 capsules of the Durablast 45 minutes before my workout. I didn't feel any real energy boost, but I did get a nice focused feeling. It was very subtle and hard to describe. It did seem to help my endurnace during my workout.

    Chest:
    Flat bench press: 9 reps x 225 lbs, 8x225, 8x225
    Incline DB flyes: 9x55, 9x55

    Back:
    Hammer Strength pull down machine: 7x180, 7x180, 6x180

    Day 2, Wednesday 10/5/05


    Wednesday was a cardio day for me. I took 4 capsules of the Durablast 45 minutes before my cardio training. Again, a nice focused feeling. It also seems to be enhancing my mood. Pretty good for only 2 days on the product.

    Day 3, Thursday 10/6/05


    Thursday is legs day. I'm not a big fan of working out my legs, so I thought that I'd try a little extra energy boost. I took 6 of the Durablast capsules 45 minutes before my workout. I really noticed a difference between the 4 capsule dosage and the 6 capsules. I was very focused and had a good energy boost throughout my whole workout.

    Quads:
    Leg Press: 10 reps x 630 lbs, 10x630, 10x630
    Leg extensions: 11x120, 10x120

    Hamstrings:
    Lying leg curls: 10x80, 10x80, 8x80
    Seated leg curls: 12x160, 12x160

    Day 4, Friday 10/7/05


    Friday is an off day for me. I took 4 capsules of the Durablast first thing in the morning when I woke up. I didn't feel any huge energy increase, but my mental focus was good all day. People at work even commented that I seemed more alert than normal. This is because I start work at 4 AM, so by the time they see me around 8 AM, I'm already starting to fade. But, no fade today with the Durablast.

    Day 5, Saturday 10/8/05


    Saturday is delts and arms day for me. I thought I would be a good little experimenter and took 8 capsules of the Durablast 45 minutes before my workout. Wow, was that a mistake. Eight capsules provides 250 mg of caffiene, which doesn't seem like all that much, but man, I swore that I had so much energy that I was vibrating.

    I had the jitters way worse than I have had in years. It actually made my workout difficult to complete. Please note that the label says that a serving is 4 or 8 capsules, so it's not like I was megadosing the stuff. I won't be trying that again.

    Delts:
    Hammer Stregth Overhead press: 8 reps x 230 lbs, 8x230, 7x230
    DB lateral raise: 7x35, 7x35

    Triceps:
    Lying DB extensions: 8x55, 8x55, 8x55
    Tricep dip machine: 10x230, 10x230

    Biceps:

    The jitters and head buzz lasted a couple of hours before I started feeling normal again.

    Sundays are off days for me. I took 4 capsules of the Durablast before I went to church to see if it would help me focus on what the pastor was saying better. I didn't notice a big difference, but I didn't get a lot of sleep the night before, so that may have effected it.

    Day 7, Monday 10/10/05


    I really must apologize for the delay in my posting again. My girlfriend has been distraught all week and I've been trying to keep her calmed down. Her dog of 13 years is dying of cancer and she hasn't been taking it too well. She actually resuscitated the poor thing twice this week (not by mouth-to-mouth ) So far doggie is hanging in there, but I told her that, as hard as it may be, she really needs to let him go the next time he slips away.

    Mondays are cardio days for me. I took 4 Durablast capsules 30 minutes before my workout. I am getting much more of a nootropic effect from the Durablast than a true energy boost. There is some energy increase, but it's not a kick, more of a gentle boost.

    Wednesday is a cardio day. I took 4 capsules of the Durablast 30 minutes before my workout. I did 30 minutes of HIIT on the stationary bike. I didn't notice any real difference from the Durablast other than increased focus.

    Thursday is legs day. I wanted to see if I could get an extra boost from the Durablast, so I took 6 capsules instead of the usual 4 that I have been taking. This seemed to make a difference as I felt much more of a kick from the product than I had at the 4 capsule dosage.

    Friday is an off day for me, so I only took 4 capsules of the Durablast. I think I'm going to use 6 capsules on weight training days and 4 capsules per day the rest of the week for a while and see how that works out for me.

    Day 13, Sunday 10/16/05


    Sunday is an off day. My girlfriend talked me into helping her babysit her friend's three kids. I've never fathered any children, so I knew this would be an adventure for me. I took 4 capsules of the Durablast before heading over to watch the little tikes. We ended up playing touch football for a couple of hours. I noticed my endurance seemed improved, I wasn't as winded afterwards as I thought I would be. Then again, they are all in grade school. My team lost 103 to 35.

    I almost did go with the six, I knew that the kids would kick my butt.

    We would have won, but the eight year old on my team had no hands!

    Of course, I may have been throwing him the ball a little hard. It's hard to see an opening and not rifle the ball. I kept forgetting he was only eight.

    Monday is cardio day. I took 4 capsules of the Durablast. As I mentioned in my post for Sunday my endurance definitely seems to be improving. Mental focus as well.

    Friday is an off day for me. I took 4 capsules first thing in the morning, 30 minutes before my breakfast. I am really starting to notice the mental effects of the Durablast. I am really able to focus on my work, which I have had problems with lately. The Durablast is really helping me out.

    Saturday is delts and arms day. I didn't get a lot of sleep Friday night, so I tried 8 capsules again. Big mistake. It is just way too much for me. I get all jittery and I get a buzzed feeling from it. Never again!

I really wish I could do one of those elliptical thingies, but I am so uncoordinated that I always end up looking like a giant spaz just before flying off the thing, knocking down whoever is closest to me.     Day 24, Thursday 10/27/05


    This was my last day of testing the Durablast. I wanted to see if I could amplify the effects any, so I took 1 capsule of Glucophase XR with the 6 capsules of the Durablast. For any that may not know, GXR has a reputation for increasing the effects of stimulants, although I have had hit and miss luck with this.

    That being said, I felt no noticeable difference with the GXR. Thursday is legs day:

    Quads:
    Leg Press: 12 reps x 630 lbs, 11x630, 11x630
    Leg extensions: 11x120, 11x120

    Hamstrings:
    Lying leg curls: 10x80, 10x80, 10x80
    Seated leg curls: 15x160, 14x160

    Calves:
    Seated calf raises: 14x165, 13x165

    My final thoughts:


    Durablast is marketed as improving energy and endurance. I didn't notice any real energy boosts with the Durablast and moderate improvement in endurance. I noticed an increased ability to concentrate and focus which I am sure is due to the p-l-car. I have tested both NeuroStim and NeuroStim+C and I frankly feel that they are better products for improving focus than the Durablast. Also I have tried other enrgy boosters that worked better.

    In retrospect I wish I had tried the GXR a little earlier in the experiment to give it more time to see how it would have worked. Also the Durablast may have worked better stacked with another energy booster.

    I really like Marc and the Scivation/Primaforce products a lot and I wish I could give Durablast my seal of approval, but I was not real impressed with it. I won't be buying it, but fear not Marc, I will still be buying a lot of your other products.
