About Me:

I am 31 and have been working out off and on for about 12-ish years. Maybe two or three times during that time, in 6mo-1yr increments, I took my workouts "seriously". Not as seriously as I am now, and by now I mean approximately 33 days ago.

I have lost 12.6 lbs in the last 30 days. I am currently on the last week of phase 1 of p90x, something I've never done before. My goals are to cut my BF% down to below 10% (preferably 7-8%) without losing too much of my muscle. I'd like to start (lean) bulking as soon as I finish cutting. As you will see in my 'before' pics I have a ways to go, but I'm making great progress so far.

I am also doing Intermittent Fasting (lean gains dot com version), with my feeding happening between 12 and 8pm. I typically do my workouts between 8-10am, and I take 10g BCAA's and 5g creatine immediately before my workout and 5g BCAA's per hour after until my first post workout meal. I have been keeping my calories between 17-1800 and 40/30/30 P/C/F, although I fall short on the carbs almost every day. Counting calories and macros is still new to me.

At first I was a little nervous about taking OxyECA when I first wake up because I won't feed for several hours, but after reading Laura Nguyen's log, I think I may be OK. I will start my first dose tomorrow at 7:30. It's not technically when I first wake up, but I'll do my wife a favor and see how it affects me after she has left.

OxyECA Black Day 1

Morning weigh in: 190.8

-Awoke @ 5:30, Taken @ 6:22am (post 2.5 cups coffee)

-7:36: Very alert and a little shaky. I'm not nauseas so I know eventually my tolerance will take some of the shake away. I feel like i could run a mile on one leg. I'm having my PWO BCAA's (10g) and creatine.
Oh, the pill burps aren't as bad as my empty-stomach fish oil pill-burps.

-9:14; Kenpo X is done. No nauseas feeling at all. I still have almost 3 hours until feeding so I'll take a protein shake to work just in case. I will also have 10g of BCAA's between now and noon.
The workout: I felt amazingly energized. On two occasions I paused the video to continue the routine because I felt like I needed more of it (the exercise). The last couple weeks I've been using a 5# weight in each hand when doing the punching/blocking routines (on at least 80% of them) but today I was closer to 90%. At the end they do around 120 fast punched back-to-back and I did every single one with the weights. Usually I drop them between 60-80.
Note: (I took a few breaks because I felt like my HR was through the roof. For me though, that's somewhat normal. I smoked for 12 years and just quit cold turkey Dec. 30. Up until Feb my cardio consisted of running a mile every few months on good years.)

12:30 I made it to noon without having a shake or eating anything. I never felt nauseas, nor have I 'crashed' (yet). I had to force a portion of my lunch in me. It's hard enough to hit my calories as it is, so I'm undecided whether I will take the second pill today. I have a huge enough calorie deficit as it is, and I get such a 'buzz' from my vitamin that I have to split it in half (noon and 2:30). So far I love it! I'll let you know in the morning how the afternoon goes and whether I took the second dose.

Day 2

Taken 6:38 post 2.5c coffee, woke at 4:19

Weight: 189.8 (lost 1 lb) **I know this cant be from one day of OcyECA, but for tracking purposes I'm just keeping it real***

I did not take the second pill yesterday. I never really had a crash like I would feel if I had an early afternoon cup of coffee. I noticed my energy level was still above normal around 3pm.

My sleep was normal. I always sleep through the night on heavy cardio days (like yesterday) but woke up a little early (not related to OxyECA). Today I'm testing how I do with a lifting day (bi's/tris). It's also the first arm exercise (2nd total) at the gym since starting p90x Feb 4. It will be followed up by Stretch X sometime later.

Oh, I'm sipping on ENDURANCE BCAA'S today for the first time. (I can't imagine that will affect the oxy, but just in case)

The gym went great! Still no funny feeling whatsoever!! I did minimal cardio, Bi's and Tri's, then came home and did my stretch X. It's just now noon and I'm not really starving like I typically would be since starting Intermittent Fasting.

I felt like I had an extra push, and It can't be from a PWO because I don't take any. It's been over a month since I've been in the gym, and it typically takes me a while to get going because of a double fracture in my RT wrist two years ago.

I just took my day 4 oxyECA at 7 and I'm ready to tear some **** up. Today is Plyometrics, so if there is a day where my HR will get pushed to the limit, today is that day.

I skipped the weekend because I just couldn't workout where I was at, didn't want to "waste" a pill, and I probably would've driven everyone crazy with the excess energy. Also, no weigh in until Thursday. My diet was horrible Sat & Sun and I'm sure i weigh 330. Next time I need to make a "go-bag". I love traditional southern cooking, but damn, I can't eat it in moderation. Better save those cheats for the holidays. I did still stick to IF, however....

Holy HR, man. I don't know if it was the oxyECA or just my poor weekend diet, but damn! I had to take several breaks during Plyo. That was the most intense (cardio) WO since starting p90x 4 wks ago.


I just had my first meal of the day and I was definitely ready for it. That's what I get for the diet break. :/

Anyway, It's OxyECA BLACK!!!

I'll post my workout soon. In case I forget, I'm upping my calories a little. Between 2000-2500 depending on whether I WO or not. After so many people that have a little more experience than I tell me to not fudge up my metabolic ________, I have to start listening. I still won't disappoint, picture day will be EPIC! I'll do an u[date measurement this Friday or Saturday.

Exercise: Back & Bi’s + Ab Ripper X

Today was the first time I’ve taken a PWO in gosh knows how long, but first time mixing it with the OxyECA BLACK. After yesterday I was a little nervous that my HR was going to fatigue me so quick mixing them, but NO. It confirms my suspicion that my diet caused my fatigue.

Today’s goal will be 2000-2500 cals. I’m going to shoot as high as I can but have to make sure I don’t stretch my stomach too much. I’ve gotten used to my small intake. My P/C/F will now be 45%/30/25. (If someone thinks this is wrong please let me know). My goal is STILL TO CUT! I bulk very easily usually and I expect that after p90x, when I’m back in the gym, that I’ll gain fairly quickly. At least for the first month or two.

My workout felt Amazing. I was pumped and energetic! I wanted to do more! No nauseas-ness, fatigue, or anything close. HR was as steady as if I was only running at 5mph (max, if not lower at times.)

My WO was so-so, but it was my first time doing this routine. I still struggle with pull-ups but that will improve. Bi’s were meh, but because it was my first time here and not knowing my stamina, my weights were off probably. That should change next week.

My workout log is below, and for whatever reason it saves in order from the bottom -> up. I have almost two hours until my first feeding so I’ll update later if anything changes. In the meantime, I get to go drink some BCAA’s!

Same thing. Kids were too little and getting really nosey also. Had a fence around it put they were watching the dogs sneek around the fence. Plus its ALOT of work.

Then I came home and did the YOGA X. My triceps were on fire!! I used to never do tris and chest together because I didn’t want one to weaken the other. The exercise was killer though.

Someone asked if I was weaker from doing so few calories…. I really don’t know. My bench max before p90x was 305x2 or 275x8; I’ve been doing 99.8% pushups only since Feb 4th, so…. Maybe I’m just not used to benching right now, or maybe I lost some???

My energy is through the roof, and my gym-pump was ******* awesome. I REALLY miss the gym….

Workout: P90X legs and back + Ab Ripper X

Ok, so I can't post my workout because my *****£******* phone messed it up.

Great second wind on legs and back. I texted Drewsicle saying my workout was below par, I felt winded (and had diarrhea, tmi, tmi), then out of no where BOOM!! Started adding weights to more exercises and I was doing more pull-ups (taking a rest between, but that's always been a weak spot for me). Lola's far as leg go; it's boring. It's good for me to not do heavy currently, but this is mostly cardio for me. Which IS painful on the legs, just not in the "I'll effing squat your truck" kind of way.

Energy level was high all day. I did do some shoveling of the pond yesterday afternoon, maybe 6-8 wheel barrows full, and did some yard work. Still no crashing, and my wife I loving the transformation. I think, as of this week, that I look the best physically than I ever have. I've always fluctuated weight, had guns at times and other times not, but never really looked "cut". I've as of yet never had a 6 pack. Or 4. But the top two are starting to squeeze out for the first time. I'm getting there....

Yesterday I did the last 45 minutes of yoga x and some home bicep exercises along with AB ripper x.
I didn't log anything because my wife had a chore list a mile long.

Today I did chest, shoulders, and triceps; along with AB ripper x. And and went to the gym.

Reps incline the initial "push up"

*Flat DB press: 80x6, 65x9, 60x10 (slow squeeze final set)
*Flat DB fly: (hold when open for 1-2s) 40x8, 40x7, 35x9

Strip sets of "around the world(s)":
1) 20x5, 15x2, 10x2
2) 25x3, 15x4, 10x3

I don't know what these are called, but you hold a single DB straight up while laying down and lower it over your head while keeping your elbows straight, pause, then bring it back over your chest still keeping your elbows straight. I'll label them BLAH and super set them with pull-ups. No break except to switch weights once.

My macros weren't on, but they weren't off by too much. Counting macros is new to me and adding 500 cals to the day makes the juggle a little different, but I'll get it.

Weight: 190.8 (I can't believe I'm maintaining 190. I'm good with it though. I look better every day.)

Today was Plyometrics, and it was great. I started my 5g ENDURANCE about 20 min prior, but decided not to take the OxyECA BLACK until half way through because of last weeks feeling. I got the endurance tingle in the beginning, and the energy booster half way. It was perfect!

I'm not sure if i'll do any other workout today or not. I have a job to do at 11:30, so my feeding will be delayed a little. Taking that OxyECA Black a little later today might have an additional benefit.

Goal today is 2200ish again. 40%/35%/25%
I'll hit it this time. #TWSS

Never bad to have high macros now and then. Keep it up, once you find your groove you'll be able to keep it up a lot easier. It just takes a little time!

It was a great workout. I felt pumped through the whole thing as if I were taking Jack3d or VOLATILE (or whatever; those are just the only two I've tried) but I'm not.

I added an extra scoop of Endurance for my first post-WO drink. My cheap BCAA's plain out suck. Wife have me permission to get more (yeah, it's like that) so I don't have to keep it at 1 scoop every day. I still will on day off's, yoga day, and if something is really light.


***Note from yesterday: I did crash at about 2pm. I laid down for 15 min and was good to go again. It was my first energy crash so far, but I can't attribute it to anything I'm taking right now because it hasn't happened before. It could be my roller coaster diet....

So far today's cals are already logged at 2196 •219/227/61• I threw in 1 cup of Cap'n Crunch PB to hit that and my fats are still a little low, carbs a little high. Cals will probably change by the end of the day though.

Yoga is GREAT and yes cheap bcaa's do suck lol.
I never thought very highly of Yoga until I actually tried it. To anyone who thinks its girlie they need to try it, especially the day after any arm, shoulder, or leg exercises.

Today WO: Yoga X and (Andrew/Drewsicle convinced me to add a gym workout.) Triceps.

OxyECA taken at 7:11am

ENDURANCE Plus started at 7:45. It was still half full when I started Yoga and drank it during.

I took a second scoop of ENDURANCE Plus with me to the gym.

Yoga was normal, getting easier every week. Sometimes my balance is on, sometimes it's off. I do a push-up before and after every vinyasa, and I could barely do one after each two weeks ago.

Tricep WO was great. I was pumped the whole time, and my energy was through the roof. My HR stays slightly elevated, but isn't that the point? I'd guess 135ish consistently. But that's a guess. I didn't want to stop (again) but once I had to (again).

I'm not as strong as I was pre-p90x, but considering what p90x does I didn't drop that much:

Also, on that super set, I have no idea what the actual weight is. Here's what the machine says but there is no way it's that light. I struggled, and I can do way more than that on DB kickbacks during p90x:

I love Kenpo day. Going to start trying to use the 10# weights for punches again. My step-son wanted to do a WO last week and I figured he'd have fun with this one, so I did portions of Kenpo on Thursday also (just when needed to motivate him):

Final ex: Push-up and one arm raise between each, weighted: 10#x7, 15#x7, 10#x5

Got a major headache on that fourth set of flay bench and I just couldn't shake it. Dec-bench and flys could've been better. Honestly though, I never really felt fatigued. I'll do p90x chest, shoulders, and triceps plus Ab ripper later. Work was cancelled today.

I didn't have a whole lot of time to post yesterday. It was Plyometrics day, and I really wish I had taken a second OxyECA Black at lunch. I was worn out from work, but pushed through it anyway.

I also only did one Endurance shake (during WO) and I missed it in the AM. My fast almost hit 18 hours instead of 16 by the time I ate lunch. On a brighter note, I did get to finish up the pizza I started on Monday and my calories still took a heavy deficit, and my proteins have still been at body-weight plus.

I just took my OxyECA Black now, and my Endurance is mixed and ready to pound. Heading to the gym in 30 to do dead lifts, squats, and presses. (I will regret this during Yoga tomorrow) I haven't done those since starting p90x. Then I'll hit up p90x's back and biceps after work. Taking a second OxyECA Black for the first time today at lunch.

SS#2:

Cable kickbacks:
27.5x6 + 22.5x5 (x2)

Leaning calf presses:
Both calves 400x25
Single calf 350x10

No squats because my knee didn't feel 100% after my last set of presses.

I don't squat heavy because of my knees. Need to hit the gym soon, home workouts are getting boring! Nice updates btw

I hear you guys on the knee thing. It happens to me as well.

I took my second OxyECA Black at 12:20 just after my first feeding, and a 1/2 scoop of Endurance at 3:00pm when I started my P90X workout. That put me at 2.5 scoops for the day. I felt pumped up. I actually still do. Same with my energy.

Unfortunately, I forgot to eat more calories. Right now I'm at 955c's, 125p's for the day with an hour left to feed. So, food coma time. I'm also short on carbs. No worries, if my deficit is too large today ill make up for it tomorrow.

P90X Back/Biceps+Ab Ripper X:

I upped the weight on all of the bicep exercises. The reps were the same (< on a couple).
My pull-ups sucked. I was, on average, 1-2 pull-ups below normal on each set. That's with upping my leaning rows by 15-20# on all 3 (?) sets. Oh well, i'm doing back again on Friday.
