Hugo's Formutech Nutrition Volatile Log
Thank to cswalczakny and Formutech Nutrition for a tub of their preworkout Volatile-32 serving tub. I will be taking one serving per day, at about 30 min before hitting my weight training. I have been lifting 18 year. My routine is 1:30 to 2 hours of weights-not super heavy- but heavy-lots of volume. I like to feel the pump-it really is about muscle contraction and not just moving weight . But mainly I train one muscle group a day per week(except-ab-calves). Mon/arms- Tues/chest, Weds/back, Thus/ab-calves, Fri/Delts, Sat/Leg, Sun/ab-calves. I have been making great gains in that 18 years partly due to training. But I must be honest- I do from time to time run cycles of DS. I have also had a history of alot of use of preworkouts, but all have been stim preworkouts. Volatile does have some stim, but I think from the info I see, it more of a pump product.
My stats are as of 1/27/13 are 215 5.5" 32 waist- not sure about BF.
I welcome any questions you may have, or ways to improve the log!!

SUNDAY - ABS/CALVES-total time around 1:20
I do alot of crunches and leg lefts-ab wheel for abs
Calf are machine calf raises- leg press calf rises, donkey calf raise machine.
So today was my first day. I opened the tub of Volatile, (by the way the tub graphic are cool). While opening the tub I got a very medicine like smell. So I put one serving in my blender bottle and mix it half full of cold water. It mixed instantly and not even a speck was at the bottom. The taste was amazing- very berry like. If you go to costco and get the berry smoothie-that is the exact taste of this- so maybe I can just make a smoothie of this too, (just a joke). So the taste was noting like the smell of this!!
Effect was that I after 30 min - I did get energy 7/10 and focus was 8/10. But endurance was great 10/10. Workout went fast and my muscle over all pumped up and I felt tight all over. I dont get much of a pump on abs and calves compared to other muscle groups.
Tomorrow, will be arm- I am very dominate in arm and I will definitely be able to assess pump better. -

DAY 2 -ARMS
Bicep
Curl Bar w/ revolving handles- 25 on each side- 4 set 10-12 reps
alternating curls DB 40,45,50- 3 sets 10 reps
concentration curls superset 40 then 20- 3 set 10 reps.
Rope Curls - 100,120,140-3 set 10 reps
Preacher Curls- 80,70,60 - 3 set 10-12 rep
Overhead Cable Curl 35,40,45 - 3 set 10 reps
Tricep
Dip machine 120,130,140 10-3 set 10-20 reps
Cable Rope pushdowns 80,90,10 10- 3 set 10-20 reps
overhead rope extensions 40,50,60 -- 3 set 10-20 reps
dumbbell tricep kickback 15lbs - 3 set 20 reps
v bar push downs 70 lbs -3 set 20 reps
So today I took 1 serving of Volatile 30 min before weight training. When I finished my 2nd bicep exercise my arm had a good pump going. Mid way into bicep I started to have a balloon like pump- so much so that partical reps were all i could do. In to triceps- same thing happened. I was so happy to see this. I have tried many no products in the past-NO BOMB- EST EP- Superpump-none of them did anything out off normal- but for some reason Normal L-Arginine Tabs do make me pump up too. Dont really no why!! Maybe old school supp do have use too. But anyway the pump I got on Volatile was definitely out of normal for me. I normal get a very huge pump in arm- but this what about 40% more than normal for me. Which to me is a big deal- after so much waste of stuff that didn't work. Endurance was also good 8/10 here - alittle down since yesterday- energy and focus was the same as yesterday. So tommorrow is chest- this is also a area where I can fully assess pump. -

DAY 3 CHEST
hammer strength chest press 3x45 each side- 3 sets 10-12 reps
DB flat press 90- 3 sets 6-10 reps
DB flys flat- 40-3 set 15-20 reps
hammer strength incline press 2x45 each side- 3 sets 10 reps
flat BB chest press 2x45 each side - 3 set 10 reps - 10 sec b/t set
incline bb chest press 1x45 each side -3 set 10 reps - 10 sec b/t set
cable cross overs 40,50,60,70 -4 sets- 10-12 reps
Pec Fly machine 70,80,90 - 3 set 10-12 reps
So today 1 serving -30min before weights. After my hammer strength chest press(1 exercises). I had a huge pump. This was awesome, but when I got to DB flat press(2 exercises) pump interfered with my ability to lift weight- normal I get 10-12 reps with that weight- but could only get 6-9. So I had to downscale the weight alittle. But pump felt great!!! Endurance was 10/10- but at start I felt weaker than normal. But as pump appeared I got psyed up to lift. I am a pump whore-lol. pump was not painful- I enjoyed it alot. It was just so much more than normal, it tightened up my chest fast. My pump natural is very high and with volatile I am getting much more than normal- so this is uncharted territory. But I am enjoying it alot!!!

DAY 4 Back
Rope Lat Pull Down 40,50,60,70 4 sets- 10-20 reps
Hammer strength Lat Pull Down wide 3x45 each side - 3 set 10 reps
iso-lateral back rows wide- 4x45 each side -3 set 10 reps
Lat Pull down bar- rest on static-straight up pull 120,140,160- 3 set 10 reps
T-bar row- 3x45- 3 sets 10 reps then 2x45 rest on static -2 sets 10 reps
Back row machine- 120,140,160 -3 sets 10 reps
Lat pullover machine 4x35 -rest on static - 3 set 10 to 20 reps
Took one serving about 30 min before weights. Back workout was awesome, I had work then college - so time was limited- so I ran by body hard, rest b/t set was very little, which some time makes you nausea, also I was sweating like mad. But full workout was done and on much less time. Pump on back was alittle bigger than normal about 20%. Energy and Focus was 10/10. Back looks awesome and my waist is small (32, wear M) and top is XL to 2XL, so I have that illusion thing in effect- lol. Have a nice back workout. I always love tattoo - I was thinking about getting that mark-the one that on the back of a indian cobra,when the cobra hood is up. I think it would look cool when I hit a lat pose!! One of my favorite bber is Lee priest and I also like his tribal back tattoo.

One of my good friends used to train with Lee when he lived in Austin Texas. They still fire back and forth at each other on FB!

DAY 5 DELTS-TRAPS
FRONT RAISES DB- 40,45,50 -3 SETS 10-12 reps
Plates Raises- 45 then 35 -3 set 8-10 reps
Cable Raises- 80,90,100 - 3 sets 10 reps
Rope Delt pulls- 60,70,80,90 - 4 sets 10-20 reps
Rear cable flys- 40,45,50 - 3 sets 10-20 reps
Rear Delt machine- 70,80,90,100 -4 sets 10-20 reps
Side Delt machine - 90,100,110 -3 sets 10 reps
Cable side raises-35,40,45 - 3 set 8-10 reps
DB cable raises- to failure with any weight possible - 2 sets reps range 20-30
Traps
Sitted trap machine reverse sitted 3x45 each side - 3 sets
Standing trap machine - reverse grip-3x45 each side- 3 sets
standing trap plate raises to failure 20-30 reps range

DAY 7 LEGS
QUAD
DB squat 120s 3 sets -10 reps
Leg Press 45x7,6,5 plates each side -2 set per plate- 6 set total -10-12 reps
Vertical leg press 5 plates -3 sets 10-12 reps
Charles Glass Single legged Leg press(this is one legged side tilt leg press-targets outer sweep)- 2x45 each side-3 sets 10 reps
Leg extension- to failure
HAMS
standing leg curls- 35,40,45,50- 3 sets 10-20 reps
Laying leg curls - 80,70,60,50,40,30 - 10-12 reps 6 sets
clean deadlift 1x45 -10-20 reps -3 sets
Took 1 serving 30 min before weights- Workout was great- rest b/t set was cut in half and weight felt effortless. So focus and energy was 10/10 today. Pump also was about 40% better than normal- Leg felt pumped but alittle on the tight side. Continue to make gains. But have been feeling beat up lately. Took 1 serving 30 min before weights. Today pump was awesome about 60% more than normal. Focus and energy 10/10 and workout was effortless. Sweating has increase today. Volatile does also cause some stomach upset- not alot but do feel increase need to Burp after consuming and during workout-more than normal. yup-first day- at first I thought it was just normal stomach problems.Still could be--not a 100% sure to be honest- will see how it goes- but its no a huge problem-a very minor effect.
