    That's it,I say it all the time,you know your body best,I've had a cycle before where I had to just up the reps with a bit lower weight as my joints were terrible,but that's hard to do sometimes when it gets in your head you just wanna go!discipline is key tho!

    I always,try to work my reps with as much weight and volume as possible,haven't maxed in a while,don't have a spot for 1,but I always keep in mind I'm working with reps when I go I'm not maxing every time so that number in theory means nothing to me.I hate when I get asked what I bench when I'm out just bc I look like I might work out,lol I always say a lot!i also like to hit a 1rm on all major lifts near end of each cycle tho.

No spotter for me either well my wife but if I really get in a jam on bench shes not gonna be able to help much she is jacked tho LOL. I didnt do really any flat barbell benching for my whole contest prep so Im just getting back into it this last month.

    I've made the conscious decision to walk away from flat bench for forever. Or until I decide I want to give powerlifting a 100% go

    Just keep the reps reasonably high. Next time you can mix in some 550.. that should help the joints keep up..

    deadlift day. diet was on close yesterday 3500 about 250/350/100 but was a rest day so acceptable

    135x10
    225x10
    315x5
    365x3.5
    335x9.5 PR
    355x4.5

    for some reason today my shoulders keep squeking too far over the bar during deads. Wish i had a partner to watch and correct my form

    hack squats
    4 plates x10 2 second pause at the bottom 4 sets

    leg press
    8x20
    10x20
    12x20

    rest only to load plates and in locked out position during sets if needed

    leg curls standing 3 sets of 12
    leg extensions 3 sets of 20
    leg curls with dumbell 3 sets of 12

    Notes
    * legs are effin smoked
    * crazy pump
    * strength still on the rise
    * workouts are steadily getting more dense (more work less time)

    going for a 1RM makes you prone for injuries. Every time I tried to get a higher 1RM on the bench for instance, I got a wrist injury.

    Are you talking about the HS flat iso-bench when you say horizontal, you no like?!?!? I'm a pretty big fan now, I'll admit it did feel a little weird at first but I'm a vag and suck with Flat BB bench so I think I have to like HS flat?

    How's the shoulder?
    Ya thats the one I think. I think im a lil too tall so Im pressing at a funny angle. Ill take a pic of the machine in the morning. Also I feel like it puts most of the weight on my triceps rather then chest.

    The shoulder is getting better I just have to remember to warm up properly before any lifting. Ive also been going really slow and just shy of failure on any kind of pressing movement which I think is helping or at least not further damaging it

    That's good, glad to hear its getting better.

    I forget you're so tall (compared to me at least), I can see your problem now.

    Yah I can never get the machines to work for me the way I want. I just do incline db's and at the bottom of my negative I push my chest way up and contract my shoulder blades. I am a classic delt presser so really have to concentrate my form.

    Me too. I like the idea of not having to run methyls to get these kind of results. Im thinking a nice finaflex stack may be my most of my next contest prep stack
