How I'm going to use them:

Blue Gene gets dosed daily at 5 caps. On workout days I'm going to dose it about an hour before workout. I'm probably going to mess with dosing it sometimes on cardio type days 60 minutes before as well just to see if it has an effect.

Purple Wraath gets dosed as an intra workout product. Probably going to use anywhere from 1.5-2 scoops and sip it before and during the workout.

What else I'm using:

Basically nothing else. Want to see what these two products can do and don't want a bunch of other variables running. I will run no stimmed pre-workout at any time during the log and no other test booster/ai/anything of that nature. I will run: BCAA's, whey protein, vitamin D, multi-vitamin, fish oil.

Other information:

Been dropping bodyfat for a while now and will continue as such. Recently finished up E.D.T. and I'm heading back towards the Superhero Program by John Romaniello. He has a new program out called Superhero Fat Loss that I'm thinking about getting shortly, so I might not run through the full 12 week program again, but at least will be on it the remainder of this log.

Diet wise I'm a lean gains paleo based low carb type of guy. It's my summer though (teacher) and I have a harder time surprisingly eating well in the summer when away from the desk than during the school year!

Day one: Friday July 27th


Got back from the long wedding week (not mine, sisters) and was antsy to get this going so yesterday afternoon I had my first dose of Blue Gene. 5 big pills. Nothing to report on day one, had not broken in the Purple Wraath yet either. Going to lift tonight and update to follow!

Day two: Saturday July 28th

First things first, went ahead and got the Superhero Fat Loss program. I'm a sucker for Roman's stuff and always had been. Since this was the case Saturday was just kinda mess around day in the gym no real rhyme or reason and actually going out to start SFL today. Did some total body work but didn't write much down since I basically decided on the way to start SFL. A better update with actual stuff later.

Supplement thoughts: Took the 5 Blue Gene an hour before workout. Nothing big to report on BG yet, going to take it an hour before again today. 1 scoop of Purple Wraath as an intra. It's lemonade flavor and very good. I'll snap a picture later of what it looks like. Not overbearing at all and definitely something you can sip the entire workout with ease. The Blue Gene capsules are very large tablet like. I'll snap a pick of them as well later. I have no problems swallowing things (insert BJ joke here), but if you're someone who doesn't like putting things in your mouth (insert second BJ joke here) you may have to take these one at a time. Lots of goodies stuffed in there though :)

Day three: Sunday July 29


Superhero Fat Loss Phase one day one.

A1- Incline Barbell Bench- 115*5 for 5 sets.
A2- Pendlay Row- 105*5 for 5 sets.
Rest 45 seconds between sets.

B1- Chinups- BW*5 for 5 sets.
B2- Arnold Press- 25*5 for 5 sets.
Rest 60 seconds between sets.

Lower body metabolic circuit

C1- Lateral Lunges (15 reps per leg)
C2- Jump squats (10 reps)
C3- Plank (30 seconds)
C4- Single Leg Hip Raise (15 per leg)
C5- Burpee (10)
C6- Reverse Crunch (15 reps)

Rest 90 seconds, repeat 3 times.

Supplement/Workout thoughts

Blue Gene dosed about 60 minutes before and 1.5 scoops Purple Wraath pre/during workout. Hotter than hell in the gym today and covered in sweat. Fantastic and exhausting workout. I dig the taste of Purple Wraath. It's lemonade, but a very light lemonade flavor. Not as sharp as some other lemonade tastes I've tried, but definitely something that is sippable throughout the workout. Definitely feeling the Beta Alanine tingles/Niacin flush on this combo, but that's ok. Nothing really groundbreaking to report yet on the Blue Gene, I'll be interested to note it's effects on recovery as this is something that a lot of other users report with BG. Something I'll be looking out for.

Day 4 Monday July 30

HIIT cardio- 8 rounds of 30 seconds at 10.0 with 1.5 minute walk/jog rest in between.

Took Blue Gene about an hour before this even though it's not a weights workout. Felt pretty solid today on the treadmill and minimal soreness after last night's lifting.

Another 45 minute fasted walk to start out today. I can get a lot of those in during this time of the year and none of them later on so I take advantage while I can. I'll be hitting up the gym for another day of SFL in a while!

Workout/Supplement thoughts: Son of a bitch I hate complexes. Was absolutely gassed the whole workout. Such a brutal setup right here. Definitely think the Blue Gene/Purple Wraath combo is giving me some extra endurance though. Last time I did these type of complexes in the Superhero workout I didn't finish them, but this time I got everything done before crawling out of the gym. Today is an off day for the most part with a short walk maybe, no real cardio. Heart still hurts in a good way :)

Really haven't had a bad experience with any CL product. Very quality company. Never got to run AM/PM, but I do have a few samples of them (have about a billion samples of various products sitting on top of my fridge).

Day 7: Friday August 3rd

Workout: Day 3 Superhero Fat Loss

A1: Squat- Warmup, then 185*6 for 6 sets
A2: Swiss Ball Leg Curl- 6 sets of 6 reps

B1: Barbell Romanian DL- 105*6 for 6 sets
B2: Lunges- 85*6 for 6 sets

Metabolic circuit:

C1: Chinups (4 reps)
C2: Spiderman pushup (10 per side)
C3: Hand walkouts (10)
C4: Plank (15 sec)
C5: Inverted row (15 reps)
C6: Pushups (15 reps)

Do 4 times.

Workout/supplement thoughts: Another killer. Taking all I have to get through these. I'm a bit used to this kind of work from Superhero 1, but damn is it still exhausting. I try to rest the absolute minimum as advised. Good to have week one in the books. Feeling good. Definitely feel as if this combo is giving me some extra stamina. Purple Wraath as I've already said is great to just sip through. Today I went with 2 scoops and just sipped it and water throughout the workout.

My lower back which has been an issue is feeling better. Cissus in Blue Gene might be helping this out perhaps. I'm just happy it isn't driving me nuts like it was for a stretch in late June/July. Definitely enjoying this right now at 7 days in.

Yeah, I'm definitely trying to keep the weight pretty light (it's advised) to survive. This is even a bit more intense than the Superhero workout I completed a while back. Lots of action :)

Workout: Workout 4, Day 4 of Superhero Fat Loss

Barbell Complex (65, 55)

Military Press- 10 reps
Hang Clean/Front Squat combo- 10 reps
Bentover row/Romanian DL combo- 10 reps
Back Squat- 10 reps

Do 3 times.

Dumbell Complex- 20

Bent over alternating row- 15 reps
Squat/Push Press combo- 15 reps
Reverse lunge- 15 reps
Alternating floor press- 15 reps

Do 3 times.

Workout/Supplement thoughts: These first 4 workouts have been some of the most taxing I have ever done. Barbell complex A especially today was absolutely killer. As I've mentioned before though I do think I'm getting a boost in endurance especially from the BG/PW combo. I can only compare to the complexes in Superhero 1, which aren't the exact same (they were lower reps), but still a decent comparison point. I've felt much stronger on these and haven't had to cut any reps off to complete them, though today I rested a bit longer between giant sets than I'd like. It's an off day tomorrow and then back to Day 1 workout.

Superhero Fat Loss Phase one day 4 (workout 1)

Workout/Supplement thoughts: Felt good again today. Said this before, but right now thinking the combo is most effective in terms of endurance. These are some very draining workouts, but this second one was much better than the first time around. Hard to tell if the BG is having any effect on T levels, but it might be. Libido is solid and a great general feeling of well being. Purple Wraath still tasting delicious. Definitely think PW might be my favorite intra workout, though admittedly I've only ran Xtend to compare it to here. Good stuff!

It's been gorgeous outside for forever so I walk outside. When I do walk on the treadmill I usually bump up the incline a bit and stick it somewhere around 4.0. I'd just experiment. I like to walk fast, but not too fast that it feels like a jog.

Tough stuff again. Feel like I had to rest less than last time. Added a rep on the complexes with a barbell. Felt really good today. Went crazy with the Purple Wraath and had 3 scoops for my intra because I knew this was going to be a killer. If you haven't done complexes in a while it's basically cardio with a barbell/dumbell. Heart gets to feeling like it may pop like a pimple. You can see your reflection in pools of sweat. And you can feel the fat burning. Good stuff. Dosing the BG about 60 minutes before workout still, no real changes there.

So far what we have in common is the endurance thing. Are you noticing anything in regards to sleeping better at night? I don't know if thats just me or the BG at work or what!

Seeing a bunch more double/triple posting in some threads, think the forum is being goofy. This one seems to be haunted for me.

I've always slept easy so I don't have anything to report there. Feeling good though!

Workout: Day 3 Superhero Fat Loss-2nd time

Workout/supplement thoughts: BG dosed about 50 minutes before, 2 scoops Purple Wraath. Good workout. Second time through much easier than the first. The biggest comment I have on the supplement combo so far is in terms of endurance/recovery. Muscle soreness has been at a minimum. A sore lower back hasn't acted up while taking the combo (Cissus perhaps?). Very grueling short workouts with minimal rest, but powering through. Taste of PW is growing on me. Never thought it was flat delicious, just pretty good :) Really like having 2 scoops of it. Think that is the magic point for me.

Day 19: Wednesday August 15, 2012

Workout: Day 4 of Superhero Fat Loss- 2nd time through

Barbell Complex (65, 55)

Workout/Supplement thoughts:
Damn, almost as tough the second time around as the first time. Like I said before, complexes are basically weighted cardio. It's not usually the muscles that get you, it's the flat fatigue in the lungs. 2.5 scoops of PW today as I knew it was going to be a killer, and a dosing of BG about 60 minutes before workout. Libido is still really strong and dare I say a bit more stamina than normal in the bedroom, at least the last few nights. A lot of BG logs/reviews talk about the product really being strong in the last weeks/weeks so maybe this is the start of some new effects?
