Thanks to Royd and the boys at AMS for this opportunity. I have been plagued by shoulder pain starting with bursitis in my RC about 2 years ago and persisting tendonitis in my right elbow. I have tried many supps from Fish Oil, Multi joint support formulas and even straight shotting cissus with only marginal results. Let's see if this stuff is any different:

What is Joint Fixx™
Joint Fixx(TM) is a potent cartilage repair supplement specifically formulated for aggressive weight training & competitive athletes.

Why is Joint Fixx™ Superior to Other Similar Products
Common relied upon joint repair formulas use the tired big 3; chondroitin, MSM & glucosamine and take between 4 & 6 weeks to start working. Further adding to the frustration – the big 3 need to be taken between 3 & 4 times daily. Joint Fixx works within 2 weeks of use and you don’t need to take a handful of capsules – just 2 caps, once per day. In addition, there are no other joint repair products in sports nutrition that use three (3) of the newest and most potent cartilage aids that are completely unknown to aggressive weight trainers & competitive athletes:

  • Turmeric Extract
  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • ASU (Avocado Soybean Unsaponifiable)
Looks Promising. Am currently on day 33 of a planned 42 day/6 wk epistane/Stanodrol run, so things have been feeling pretty dry and plan on finishing out this deal on a heavy note.

Not going to get much into details on the diet, simply put: LG's. Running a 4 day split 5x5 routine with varied percentages week by week.

The details of that will unfold as we progress. Here is what I will be using in addition: When we get into PCT, will be taking Nolva 40mg dailyx2 weeks, 40mg eod wks 3 and 4, Erase Pro and Compund 20 plus a natural test booster (have several on hand.) Ageforce Omega 3/CoQ10 Patch daily. Standards like BCAA, and Pre-workouts, AI Cycle Support.

What will impress me is: The absence of shoulder pain while benching, the ability to do hammer curls pain free. If this stuff merely
"maintains" the status quo, I am gonna say it. The AMS boys have never steered me wrong, so I am hopeful, lets see how it goes.

Started of with my first two caps this morning.

Day4, wk 5 (75% Intended quasi deload)

Standing OH Press 145 5x5 (All reps touched collar bone)

45 Degree Incline Bench 85x10/8/6 (Got too excited, forgot the deload part on these LOL, you can say aggression is up)

Tate Press 3x6/6 @45

BO DB Row 3x6/6 @ 125

Cross Body Hammer Curl 3x5/5 @40's

Seated Concentration curl 30x5/5, 5/5

Planks 5 sets hold 30/rest 20.

Nothing remarkable so far, but it is way to early to expect it.

6/9/12 Day 1, wk 6 (Just plain going heavy.) Cycle Day 35 (Yeah, I screwed my count. All I know for sure is PCT starts Saturday)
9:45-11:00
Squat - 325x5, 375x3, 390x1, 410x1, 225x10 (Cool down/burn set). The 410 was a wee bit cheap on the depth but I'll take it.

Power Cleans 5x5@155

DB Split Squat 3x6/6 w/25's.

Leg raise 3x15.

Knee's and hips are feeling good.

6/11/12 Day 2, wk 6 (Just plain going heavy again)
5:25-6:30 (5 min cardio and RC warm up)

Bench 245x5, 275x2, 295x1, 185x12/12 (more for just the pump and burn and some higher rep work) This is a 20lb jump from my setimated max 6 weeks ago, digging this!)

BW Dips 6/6/6

BO BB Row 230x8/8/7

Close Grip Bench 195x7/6/5

Assisted Pull Up 235x6/6/5

Side Bends 3x12/12

Tomorrow we try to get back to pulling 4 plates!

Had a touch of shoulder discomfort but for going that heavy (for me) they felt pretty good. Also, the BO rows did not seem to hurt my elbows as much as they usually do. Could just be in my head, we shall see.

Will do mange!

6/12/12 Day 3, wk 6 (Going heavy again) Cycle day 39
4:35-5:50 Started with some crdio warm up and deep calf/hip flexor strectches.

Deads 350x5, 375x3, 390x1 I really think 4 plates is a psychological barrier for me. Felt like I could have hit 5 at 375, at least 2 at 390 but failed at tow attempts at 405. I gotta get past this some damn how.

Front Squat 200x8, 230x6, 275x1 (Felt scary but I nailed it)

Back Extension with 115lb DB held to chest 12/8/8

Behind back shrug 335x12/12/11

Elbows are feeling better, shoulder is feeling pretty good for day after some heavy benching.

Nice looking workout! Those mental barriers suck man. I've dealt with my share of those. The only way I got past them was to have my buddy load the bar without me looking or being told what was on it until I was past the weight that was holding me back.

Nice front squat.
Thank you Sir!

Well, today was the last lifting day of this run. Tomorrow is a rest day and I will be finishing the final doses, starting PCT on 6/17/12, going into a deload. That being the case, I hit the iron hard today.

6/15/12 Day 4, wk 5 (going heavy)
4:35-6:05

Standing OH Press (All the way down to my collar bone with ALL reps)
165x5, 175x3, 185x2 200x1 (Really had to grind this one out), 135x10.

45 Degree Incline DB Press 85'sx9/9, 70'sx12 (Focused on getting a good deep stretch on this last set)

Tate Press 50'sx10/9/8

BO 1 arm Row (Running out of DB's tried first 2 sets with stacked EZ Curl Bar) 125x8/8, 135x6/6 Dumbell 120x10/10

Cross Body Hammer Curl 40x10/10. 10/10, 8/8

90 Degree Preacher Iso DB Curl 25x10/10, 30x8/8

Planking 5 cycles 40 second hold, 20 second rest.

The shoulders felt really good tonight, the elbows did ache some doing the cross body curls but not as much as before I don't think. We are going into a deload next week, then 65%, 75% etc so this will be a chance to see what this stuff can do with out a constant onslaught on the joints.

Good to hear. And nice 200lb OHP. Solid.
I was happy with it, but took more pride in the 185x2. Thank you.

Day 1 wk 7 (deload) 60%
5:35-6:20 *brief cardio warm up and deep calf and hip flexor stretches.

Squat 245 5x5

Powerclean 115 5x5

DB Split Squat 3x6/6 w 15'sx2

Hanging Leg Raise 25/20/20

Elbows and shoulders are feeling good. The deload has started and felt like I needed it neuro wise but my joints weren't feeling too bad, which is surprising considering how dry those compounds I was running ar.

6/20/12 Day 2, wk7 (Deload = 60% on 5x5's)
Bench 5x5 @175

Assisted Dip (Total weight 135) 3x10

Assisted Pull Up (Total weight 120)3x8

BO BB Row 3x8 @ 115

Cls Grip Bench 3x8@95.

Finished up with 28 minutes of Random Hills Cardio 220 cals. Estimated burn for today 3950.

Shoulders felt tight till set 3, likely due to skipping RC work and getting right to it today.

Bummer news: Found out the Y I lift at will be closed for week 3 of my PCT, WTF talk about BAD timing. I can maybe hit a Saturday/Wednesday/Saturday at another Y, will get through this one way or another.

Took both my boys to the Y, swam with the little guy for an hour then me and big bro hit the iron.

Day 3, wk 7 (60% Deload)
12:15-100

Dead Lift 5x5 @240 Despite the lighter weights, focused on exploding in the initial pull.

Front Squat 135x8, 165x8/8

Back Extension BWx12, 60lb DB to chest 12/12.

Side Bends 3x12/12

Not sure why, but my right shoulder feels a bit tender after lifting today, possibly trying the traditional front squat grip, not sure. Still fairly impressed with this stuff so far, recommended it to a friend who lifts and has knee pain today.

Now that I think about it, I think it may because of really focusing on exploding with the deads put a lot more strain on my elbow and shoulder than my normal steady style.

6/24/12 Think I may have solved my YMCA Closing issue. Another nearby Y will be open and has Sunday hours, so guess who hit it today :)
Day 1, wk 1 (PCT Day 8) 65%

Squat 5x5@ 265 (Won't say I hit para, because every time I think I got it, some one tells me I don't but will say these were some of the deepest back squats I have ever done.)

Power Cleans 5x5@125

Split Squat 2x6/6 with 30's (Getting better, but still don't like these, may replace them)

Hanging Leg Raise 30/20/20

Little man's Little League tourney starts Tomorrow, I may not be able to hit it again till Wednesday AM. We shall see.

Right shoulder feels a bit tight but nothing painfull, may just be a touch of DOMS from Friday.

Today was a mixed bag of sorts. Weighed in @266, so I only put on 8 pounds over my birthday/father's day. Beats the 16 I gained last year. Also, despite the fact that this was not a heavy 5x5 day, I did crank it up on the assist work and found good evidence that I have not been losing any strength. Joints are feeling good, felt real good to get back to the iron after 2 days off back to back.

Day 2, wk 1 65%
8:20am-9:10am

Bench 5x5@190 (Focused on exploding out of the bottom, felt good)

Weighted Dip 3x8/8/8 (24 deep pec stretching reps in 3 sets is a PR)

BO BB Row 230 x8/7/8

Assisted Pull Up 213x8, 233x6/5+Partial

Close Grip Bench 180x12/10, 190x6+assisted rep.

Wrapped things up with a bit of cardio, 22 minutes, 183 cals.

Big old storm blew through yesterday, knocking out power and communications, blew my iron time yesterday. Nothing to do but get it done today.
6/30/12 Day4, wk 1 65%

OH BB Press 5x5 @130

45 Deg In DB Press (Dropped weight and increased ROM)
75's x 12/10/8

Tate Press - 50x6, 40x12/12

BO 1 Arm Row (Done with Hammer curl bar for more weight)
125x8/8, 135x6/6

Cross body hammer curl 40x12/12, 10/10, 10/10 (Sets 2 and 3 took weight to delt instead of just +90 deg, easier on my elbow and a better squeeze too)

90 deg DB Preacher 25x10

Planks 5x40 squeeze, 20 rest (used stop watch this time, more demanding.
Had just a bit of elbow pain doing RC warms ups, the one where you hold arm up perp. to body, bend forearm to 90 deg and rotate the upper arm. That is a lot of tension on the elbows. Right now, it feels very good.

Split squats 3x6/6 w/35's

Had to get moving, will hit leg raises later this week.

Joints are feeling good, and cleans usually kill my wrist and elbows. I do wrap the right wrist with athletic tape before hitting them as a strained it a few weeks back but this is now more precaution than anything.

Day 2, wk 2 (75%)
5:45-6:50 (Did the best I could in unfamiliar territory. Never ceases to amaze me the differences from one set of cables to the next)

Bench 5x5 @220 (These were more challenging than I anticipated but not really a struggle, pretty typical for my 75% bench week)

Dip 10/8/7 (25 reps over 3 sets is a new PR)

BO BB Row 235x10/8/8

Had no assisted PU Machine, so I combined my best effort at Chin ups with Wide Grip PD's
2 eye level Chin ups then 4reps at 180 PD, 2 more eye level chins, 6 reps at 150 PD.

Close grip bench 185 x8/4(got grip too narrow here)/5

Hanging Leg Raise 25/25/20

Did note the complete absence of pain in my elbows when doing those fairly heavy (def heavy for me) BO BB rows, this is a nice development!

Deads (No belt) 5x5@300

Front Squat 195x10, 225x7/5 + a neg (Went down for number six and dropped the bar on the rack at the bottom.)

Romanian DL 3x8@255

Behind Back BB Shrug 335x10/12/12 (Lost grip despite straps on the first set)

Side bends 3x12/12

Almost done with the bottle, have yet to get the full repair on the elbow I was hoping for but the shoulder is feeling good and even when I do irritate the elbow, it is not as intense and does not last nearly as long. Am pretty sure that if I took a week or two away from the iron and kept using this, it would get the job done, just not going to do that at this time.

Finished the last dose yesterday morning. Here are my thoughts on Joint Fixx: My shoulders feel the best they have in almost 24 months, plain and simple. Did not get the full healing of the elbow I was hoping for but this stuff made it better than anything else I have tried. When I did irritate it, it was not as bad nor did the soreness last as long. Am convinced it could heal the elbow completely if I took a week or two out of the weight room. Long story short and the bottom line, I think I have found a new fav joint supp and plan to restock when I get some extra cash on hand.
