    Testopro and Motivate

Thanks to the crew at AI for asking me to run a log on Testopro. They also included samples of Motivate and Perform...BUT...they gave me two sets of sample packs of Motivate by mistake (no perform but thats OK), so I'll have enough to use it Pre-WO through the log

Log Started May 1 - Today.

My workout split is very haphazard right now, as if my life (work + 11m old daughter...), but typically I have a 3 day split:

1 - Chest - Back on Saturdays, its my cathartic release after a week of slaving for the man
    2 - Arms / Shoulders - Tuesday-ish
    3 - Legs - Thursday-ish

Diet is somedays full of whole foods, some days its clean, some days it isn't, some days its a line of protein shakes, but its always in the 3100 calorie range.

I put this log off a few days as I had a lovely stomach flu, after maintaining my food for a couple days, I weighed in at 181 today (I was 174 4 days ago mid-gastroenteritis).

I took 1 Motivate pre-WO, along with 2 Testopros in the AM today. I am on a low stim approach now, but 1 Motivate gave a nice amount of energy without that nasty elevated systolic blood pressure "BOOM" in my chest that 400mg of caffeine gives.

    The Workout:
    Incline Smith:
    135x10, 185x10, 225x8, 225x8, (no rest into) 175x5, (nr) 165x5, (nr) 155x5

    Body Weight WIDE pullups:
    15 - 10 - 8 - 8 - 6 - 4
    Into Lat Pulldowns:
    145x8, 145x8

    Flat Dumbbell press:
    75 x 8 x 3

    Underhand grip Cable row:
    150 x 10 x 3

Alternating chest fly / reverse fly (pec dec - alternating them no rest)
    145 x 10 / 130 x 10 / 145 x 10 / 130 x 10

Good workout coming off illness IMO.
Spent the rest of the day doing yard work...currently have a 3lb center cut pork roast on my grill slowly smoking over apple wood soaked in water and Makers Mark...drool...

    Day 2 and Day 3:

Day 2 I spent doing 5 hours of Yard work.

Day 3 I drove 3 hours to a 6 hour meeting, and drove 3 hours back home...exhaustion has hit.

    So far, no noticeable effects....yet

    Day 4 - Shoulders - Arms

Disclaimer: I walked into the gym feeling like I was hit by a truck already....the last few days have just drained me.

I shoulda taken 2 Motivates, but I stuck to the ultra low stim approach, it definitely gave me the mental edge to get my tired ass off the couch though

    Shoulders:

    DB Press - 45 x 5, 50 x 5, 55 x 12 , 60 x10, 60 x 10 ... there was just no juice in the tank...
    Seated Lateral Raises - 25's x 12, 30's x 10, 30's x 7 (PHAIL!)
    Rear Pec Dec - 130 x 12 x 3

    Arms:

    Barbell Curl - 85 x 10 x 3
    Tricep Cable Extension - 65 x 12 x 3
    Hammer Strength Iso-Curl - 40 x 10 x 3
    (alternating with no rest between)
    Hammer Strength Iso-Extension - 65 x 10 x 3

    Shrugs Barbell - 135 x 12, 185 x 10, 235 x 6 x 2

I think my stomach is finally over whatever it was I had, I seem to have tolerated my post workout whey just fine (thank god...I thought I miight be turning lactose intolerant, which would have removed a lot of my daily caloric intake)...so after an off day, and some good sleep, I'll be back to myself Thursday.

So far, no real evident effects, my muscles felt hard today and yesterday, but I may have been very much dehydrated from being sick / poisoned / etc. I think with how I've felt the last 8 days 500mg of Test C wouldn't have given me a boost though, now that I can eat actual food, I expect to see something happen as we get towards the end of week 1.

(this log is now caught up. Today, May 6, is Day 6)

I expect good things now that my stomach survived its 'stress test' today...

I hade a chicken fajita burrito from Chipolte, followed by a chocolate ice cream cone at lunch today...we'll call it 1700 calories...seems my gastro issues are gone, and my fear that I turned lactose intolerant was misguided...

    Gym night...

    Guarantee ey?

Day 6 - Chest - Back (will get to legs this weekend..my workout partner is gone for 12 days so I let him pick a workout, so we did this one a couple days ahead of time).

    Chest -

    Bench Press - 135 x 10, 185 x 10, 185 x 10, 235 x 4 , 240 x 2

    Dips - Body weight plus 45 x 15 , 12 , 8 , 6

    Incline Smith - 185 x 12 , 10, 10

    Back -

    Pulldowns - 165 x 10, 175 x 10, 175 x 10

    Cable Row - 165 x 10 , 185 x 10, 195 x 8

    Reverse Pec Dec - 120 x 10 x 3

I took 2 Motivate's just to try 2. Nice bump in energy from one, still very clean.

Workout was excellent, thats easily the best flat bench performance I've had since my shoulder injury last year and the implosion of my SI joint in December (still hurts...robs me of so much power).

Feeling full / pumped this morning...confidence is high (..I repeat, confidence is high..), libido not changed yet (if anything, its a little low...too little sleep / too much work etc).

Legs tomorrow...maybe a little arm work (its almost beach season )

    OK, weekend update....

It was supposed to be Legs with a little arms, but I woke up and couldn't reach my right foot to put a sock on it (yes, back issues...), so after stretching / heating and lots of swearing, I was loose enough to properly dress myself, but thought better of doing legs, and switched to arms and shoulders (I did some hamstring work since chronic tightness in them is affecting my back and SI joint still).

    Biceps -

    Seated Hammer Strength - Plate loading (not the silly stack one) - Preachers - 45 x 20, 70 x 10, 90 x 10, 90 x 10, 80 x 8, 70 x 5 into single arm curls - 45 x 8 x 2

    Plate curls (hold plates rigid - kills grip / forearms) - 25lb plates x 20 x 3

    Barbell Curls - Narrow grip - 75 x 6 x 3

    Shoulders -

    Smith Military Press - 135 x 10, 155 x 8, 195 x 6, 185 x 6, 135 x 10

    Cable Lat Raise - 25lbs to failure x 3

Rear Delts DB - 20lbs DB to failure

    Triceps -

    Standing EZ Bar Press - behind head - 70 x 10, 70 x 10, 70 x 9

Did some hamstring curls and hyperextensions to stretch out my lower back / hammys, hoping to at least squat at home tonight.

Strength is very good, maybe its better stated that endurance is very good, Im starting to feel like I can do a lot more volume the last couple of days. Libido is showing a few glimmers of increase, but having spent the entire weekend prepping for a mother's day family dinner, and then cooking it and cleaning up afterwards didn't really lend much time or energy for pursuits in that area

My wife told me my chest looked pumped up last night as I was falling asleep on the couch...so that is encouraging.

Day 11 - Back and 'Legs' (not a real leg workout, but had to do something)

    Back -

    Warmup - Body weight chins - 5 x 5

    Lat Pull Down - 145 x 10, 160 x 10, 160 x 10, 175 x 8, 175 x 6, 130 x 10

    Hammer Strength Pull over - 140lbs x 10 x 3

    Cable Row - 160 x 10, 185 x 8, 185 x 8

    Narrow Reverse Grip Lat Pulldown - 130 x 10 , 130 x 10, 130 x 12 (to failure).

Legs - (back still aching so no 'real' legs)

    Single Leg Extensions - 70 x 10 x 4

    Seated Ham Curls - 135 x 10 x 3

    Seated Calf Raise - 90 x 20 x 2

    Hip machines - Inner and Outer - 160 x 12 x 2

Strength continues to be very good despite an exhausting schedule. I may be growing again, saw a +2 lbs on the scale last night, and I feel like Im bigger / fuller..almost have that 'on' feeling.

Appetite was through the roof the last couple of days, and my sleep has been unusually sound.

Will be doing Chest and 'Legs' on Thursday, unless my back feels exceptionally good, then it will just be a real leg workout.

    Pec Dec - 160lbs x 10 x 3

"Legs"- back was a little feeling better until I grabbed an 80lb DB off the ground doing inclines and realized that snatching 80 in one hand while seated is about the dumbest thing you can do when you have a busted SI joint.

    Seated Leg Press - 300lbs x 12 x 3

    Calf Press (on leg press) - 250lbs x 20 x 2

I got to the gym late tonight (wife was working OT) and I was just exhausted from playing Daddy Day Care for 4 hours (and eating half a bag of tortilla chips )...I felt soooo flat, but numbers were decent. I was reluctant to bench heavier without a spotter cause I felt like falling asleep laying on the bench...but I could have gone higher.

Weight remains steady, in the +2 range. Still appearing very full, maybe I actually leaned up a little which is giving me that appearance.

Libido may be up slightly, but I fall asleep every night on the couch immediately after my daughter falls asleep, so who really knows....basically tiredness is overwhelming me at night.

Any mass gain while suffering that kind of workload is impressive. Keep it up.
