Wink Time to Strip the Female Terminator with Liposolv (Sponsored)

    INTRODUCTION

I have been fortunate to score a tube of Better Body Sports' latest innovation, Liposolv. Having used a variety of topicals, including but not limited to Avant Research's Napalm, LG Sciences' LipoBURN, Primordial Performance's DermaTherm and DermaTherm Target, and Recomp Performance Nutrition's Eviscerate and Atomic Meltdown, I am interested in seeing how Liposolv compares.

    Name: Rosie.
    Age: 25.
    Training Status: Highly Trained/Ex-Elite Athlete.

    GOAL

I have just finished a tub of White Flood and are 1-2 days away from finishing a tube of Sustain Alpha. This log is going to continue on in with the goal of getting back to 8% bodyfat (or lower). I do not have far to go; it should take me ~4 weeks to do...

    BODY STATISTICS

    Height: 156.6 cm (i.e. 5'1.7")
    Mass: 54.64 kg (i.e. 120.2 lb)
    Body Composition: 11.8% bodyfat

    FITNESS STATISTICS

Resting Heart Rate: 30 beats per minute
Maximum Heart Rate: 206 beats per minute
    Maximal Oxygen Uptake: 69.9 ml/kg/min

    DIET

I use a calorie cycling method, listening to my body as I go along. I am also going to be incorporating a few principles from the Scivation CHA Diet into my diet over the next 4 weeks.

    SUPPLEMENTS

    Fat Loss Stack
Liposolv - 6-7 sprays twice daily or 12-14 sprays once daily, post-shower.
    DCP - 2 caps first thing, 2 caps pre-lunch, 2 caps pre-dinner, and 1 cap pre-bed.
AlphaBurn - 1 cap first thing and 1 cap pre-bed.
Suppress C - 2 pumps twice daily or 4 pumps once daily, post-shower.
Sustain Alpha - 5 pumps post-am shower (please note that I only have 1-2 days left with this).

    Creatine
    NeoVar Recomped - 2 caps 40 min pre-resistance training, 2 caps immediately post-resistance training, and 4 caps pre-bed/15-20 min pre-meal later in the day (resistance training days); and 2 caps 15-20 min pre-breakfast, 2 caps 15-20 min pre-lunch, and 4 caps pre-bed/15-20 min pre-dinner (non-resistance training days).

    Multivitamin/Antioxidants
    Complete-Balance - 2 caps post-breakfast.
    Bio-Mend - 2 caps post-breakfast.

    Good Fats
    Omega-Essentials - 2 caps post-breakfast.

    Protein/BCAAs
Combat Powder - 1 scoop with breakfast.
    BC+EAA - 3 scoops with mid-morning meal and 3 scoops with mid-afternoon meal.

    Joints
OsteoSport - 4 caps first thing.

    Sleep
    Lipotrophin-PM - 2 caps first thing and 2 caps pre-bed.

I will update once the Sustain Alpha is gone, and also because I am going to be adding IGF-2 back into my supplement regime in the next week or so.

    TRAINING

Continuing on with the training schedule that I have been progressing with over the last 4 weeks...

    Resistance Training

4-5 sessions per week. The aim is for 5 sessions per week, but it's fine if I only 4 get done. I haven't assigned resistance sessions to a particular day of the week; instead they are done in the order Day 1 to Day 4/5 each week, with recovery days between sessions as my body sees fit. My resistance training varies week by week re exercises and order, sets and reps, always striving to increase weights/strength, and continually progress.

    Day 1 - Shoulders/Hamstrings
    Day 2 - Back/Chest
    Day 3 - Full-Body*
    Day 4 - Arms/Abs
    Day 5 - Full-Body*

    * One of the Full-Body sessions will be high rep.

    Cardio

3 x HIIT sessions per week
    3-4 x steady-state 20-30 min sessions per week
2-4 x 20-30 min sessions per week (whatever day I feel like, done either post-weights or pm)

    Stretching

6-7 x 20-30 min sessions (usually after am cardio session)

Note that for any given week training can be changed and adapted, based on how I am feeling.

    DAILY COMMENTS

Because Liposolv is a topical targeted specifically at fat loss with no other effects per se, the only area I will be commenting on daily is:
    Body Composition

If you want more detail re other supplements and effects and training experiences, please see my 2009 Training and Supplementation Journal The Female Terminator Chronicles (starting Liposolv from post #918).

    Initial Impressions

    Better Body Sports - Liposolv

Smell - N/A: Liposolv smelt like alcohol; nothing else.

Feel - 10/10: A quick cool touch, like that you get when you get water sprayed on you. Liposolv is not greasy or sticky after application.

Spreadability - N/A: Liposolv is not a lotion, but a spray. Even if I try and spread it immediately after application to anywhere but the place where the spray hit my skin, it does NOT spread there.

Drying - 10/10: Liposolv was dry in mere seconds after spraying it on my skin.

Other Effects - 10/10: I did not experience anything out of the ordinary. I did not feel weird, nor did my skin turn white, as was warned could happen.

Other Notes: Both of my wrists have been giving me trouble over the last couple of days, painful at times and then clicking for no reason (yes, I can feel and hear the bones clicking into place). During resistance training today the clicking and the sensations it caused was annoying, and that, along with my lacklustre mood, meant that I cut the session short...Last day of Sustain Alpha today...

    Day 5

Due to circumstances, no training was done today...Means that I will be raring and ready to go tomorrow!!!

Body Composition and Look: A bit softer, due to water and food weight from yesterday and today...

Other Notes: Areas where I sprayed the Liposolv started getting itchy very early this morning, ~9-10 hours after application.

This means that I will be back on my regular schedule, but my regular schedule on NZ time (i.e. 0300 in NZ is 0800 in the US - this is my waking time; 2100-2200 in NZ is 0200-0300 in the US - this is my bedtime); since I am having such a hard time trying to adjust my body to doing this at 0300 and 2100-2200 US time.

    Day 12

    1522 - Skipping:
    a. 4 x 3 min skipping/30 sec break
    b. 4 x 90 sec skipping/30 sec break
    c. 4 x 30 sec skipping/30 sec break

    1551 - Stretch 20 min.

    1636 - Back/Chest (1 min recovery between alternate sets):
    Alternate Set -
    1. BB Deadlifts 6 x 6
    2. Push-Ups (feet on bench, hands on floor) 6 x 10

Body Composition and Look: Calves and forearms are looking ripped. Everything else is kind of blah. Still holding water in midsection and upper legs...

Other Notes: At Kathy's suggestion, I have been applying Liposolv 2-3 hours after showering (applying my daily moisturizer post-shower); and there has been no more itching...I am still NOT experiencing any skin blanching or white spots or anything else expected from the product yet...And due to spray nozzle issues continuing, I am still using my hands to apply the product; which means that I am probably using FAR more than 14 sprays per application...

    Review of Liposolv

So ends a tube of Liposolv, the latest innovation from Better Body Sports. It was an interesting run to say the least...

    What is it?

    * Blocks 11-HSD-1, the cortisol activating fat enzyme
    * Four Synergistic boosters of cAMP
    * Gets more to target sites

For more information see post #5 Liposolv "next generation spot fat reducer"- licensed from Patrick Arnold.

Smell: N/A. Liposolv smelt like alcohol; nothing else.

Feel: 10/10. A quick cool touch, like that you get when you get water sprayed on you. Liposolv is not greasy or sticky after application.

Spreadability: N/A. Liposolv is not a lotion, but a spray. Even if I try and spread it immediately after application to anywhere but the place where the spray hit my skin, it does NOT spread there.

Drying: 10/10. Liposolv was dry in mere seconds after spraying it on my skin.

Body Composition: 5/10. Pre-Liposolv I was 54.64kg (i.e. 120.2lb) at 11.8% bodyfat (BF). Post-Liposolv I am 54.09kg (i.e. 119lb) at 11.8% BF. Although I LOST 0.55kg (i.e. 1.21lb) my body composition did NOT change. This means that I lost BOTH BF AND lean body mass (LBM): 0.07kg (i.e. 0.154lb) of BF and 0.48kg (i.e. 1.056lb) of LBM...Skinfolds was an interesting mix of no change, decrease AND increase over the 8 skinfolds taken...Girths did not change much at all, with all but Shoulders and Thigh girths remaining UNchanged: Shoulders lost 2cm and Thighs gained 2cm...Despite the minor decrease in BF my forearms, upper midsection, and calves, all areas where I did NOT apply Liposolv gradually became more defined over the course of my use of Liposolv...Please note that all POST-measurements were taken three days after I had STOPPED use of Liposolv...

Other Effects: 5/10. From Day 2 to Day 13 I had a lot of water retention, with the scale climbing consistently until Day 13, before suddenly dropping back to my starting body mass...From Day 5 the areas where I applied Liposolv started becoming itchy; the itching went away when I started applying Liposolv ~2 hours post-shower/moisturizer, from Day 13...I did NOT experience the expected skin blanching or white spots or garlic odor.

Overall: 6.5/10. Liposolv produced a mixed bag of results for me, with some no change, decreases, and increases in both skinfolds and girths, and an overall NO change in body composition with a decrease in body mass. If I were going based on what I was on the day that I finished the tube of Liposolv, my body statistics did NOT change. Three days after use I lost 0.55kg (i.e. 1.21lb) of body mass; this coupled with the water retention experienced during my use of Liposolv causes me to believe that Liposolv causes water retention and that the results of the product cannot be assessed until a few days after STOPPING use of it.

Would I use it again? I would use another tube, and see what happened over 30 days, as opposed to only 16 days, seeing as results were not really definitive re loss or gains...And because the ingredient profile suggests something other than the results I got.

Would I recommend? Generally I would NOT recommend a topical fat loss product. I would recommend making sure that the key component to fat loss - DIET - was targeted at fat loss, and that training was structured appropriately, before I would even consider recommending a fat loss supplement/product (and unless you're relatively lean to begin with and just want to lose that last 1-2% BF, then I wouldn't recommend at all). But, in saying that, if diet and exercise are right, then just that little something extra can be recommended.

This review is also available in my training/supplementation journal (post #952) in the Supplement Reviews/Logs subsection of the Supplements Forum: The Female Terminator Chronicles.

    To Date...

Thank you, Kathy, for giving me the opportunity to try Liposolv.

However, as the second tube still has not arrived, my review yesterday stands as my Final Review of the product.

Thank you for the honest review!

I would imagine this is very helpful to someone debating whether or not to use Liposolv

I used to be part of the NZ cycling team. The "ex" is because I am now retired from cycling.
