alright fellas, thanks to LG Sciences, i got my BC+EAA.
i'm going to log this, although after the initial flavor review, not sure how much there is to report on a BCAA/EAA product, so i'll do my best to keep this interesting.

for comparitive purposes i've used: Core ABC, Xtend, and Purple Wraath.

initial review of LG's BC+EAA:

ingredient profile: 10
i absolutely love the ingredient profile. i've always wanted a product that mixed BCAAs with EAAs and finally it is here!
i also really like that LG heavily weighted the leucine in the mix.

taste: 6
it just doesn't taste as good as i was expecting. i love blue raspberry flavoring but this one is weak and watery. 3 scoops only makes 12 oz of drink. i prefer to have around 20 oz to sip pre and peri workout. flavoring system doesn't seem strong enough to mix in and mask other bulks like i've done in the past with xtend. however, the flavor is still good enough for me to enjoy on a daily basis. even though i probably like some of the xtend flavors better, i will likely still use this as my staple due to superior product profile.

mixability: 5
after mixing up in my shaker cup, there is a thick foam that floats on the top along with undissolved flakes that take more than 1/2 hr to fully disappear. some of the product wants to float in a layer on the top.

sorry for the not so glorious initial review, but i just wasn't as impressed as some of the others who have tried it.



current program

current goal: cutting. i'm doing a 2 month bulk followed by a 1 month cut program through the winter with the goal of adding a little mass without a tremendous amount of additional fat. currently i'm in the middle of the 1 month cut that i will probably have to stretch over 5 weeks due to the thanksgiving temptations. overall, my current diet is restricted. lower cal, lower carbs.

current supplements: LG's BC+EAA, whey, endo-amp, multi, fish oil, cla, body octane.

current workouts: my current workout program is modeled after layne norton's hypertrophy/strength split. i've been on if for the past 2-3 weeks and am enjoying it. will probably continue it for another 3 weeks.

i am planning on having skin tearing pumps that are so severe they literally rip all the skin off my body, erections that are so strong they last 24hrs, and vascularity that is so intense that i am completely covered in veins. it might be sorta gross.

yeah, i try my best to tell it like it is. although i didn't seem to enjoy the flavor as much as others, i still think it's an awesome product.
i really like all the new innovative products LG is releasing this year.

I think that from what I remember talking to an ajinomoto rep, the froth at the top is primarily the leucine. Before I got used to Xtend I'd mix it, throw it in the fridge for 20 minutes, and mix it again. That made all the froth/flakes finally mix.

3 scoops on an empty stomach pre-workout really helped give me a nice boost during my workout. i'm severly restricting my diet today and tomorrow pre-thanksgiving. that way i won't feel so guilty stuffing my face. even on low calorie, i had plenty of energy for my workout with the bc+eaa blend. and it completly killed the hungar pains.

chest/back hypertrophy workout:
3 x 10 bb rows @135
3 x 10 weighted wide grip pullups w/25lb
3 x 10 weighted close grip pullups w/25lb
2 x 12 rack pulls @ 225
3 x 10 bb incline bench @ 135
3 x 8 db bench @ 85
2 x 12 cable flys
2 x 12 machine flys

that's all for now. i'll have some more purple drank this afternoon when i go to work legs.

did a quick workout tonight....in my home gym today.

sipped the blue raz during my workout. i mixed it with 20oz of water so it would last a little longer through my workout. it was really light flavored that way. almost like drinking water.
it was actually nice this way as it wasn't too strong and didn't really bother my workout with any flavor burps or anything.


workout was lower body power.

alright i was out of town during the holiday weekend and need to give an update.

still was able to get workouts in at my mother-in-law's gym.

here is a quick summary -
diet has been horrible, but worth it!
did a couple of 1hr cardio sessions to help fend off the bad diet flab gain.
however, i'm still up nearly 4lbs - mostly likely water weight due to the excessive carb intake.
diet is back on track this week.
did a couple of weight workouts - 1 leg workout and 1 upper body power workout.

didn't take the blue-raz with me on my trip but did take another dose yesterday prior/during my workout.

after playing with the mixing i've come to the conclusion that it is best to mix up and let sit for at least 1/2hr or longer. the particles seem to eventually dissolve and the flavor seems stronger and better once it is all mixed better.

yesterday's workout = shoulders + arms:
3x10 55lb overhead db presses
3x10 30lb incline supported db lateral raises
2x12 30lb lateral cable raises
2x15 60lb standing bb curl
3x10 80lb preacher curl
2x10 30lb seated incline curls
2x12 75lb skull crushers
3x10 155lb decline close grip bench
2x 12 60lb rope pressdowns

other than that not much else to report.
i just gave myself an early x-mas present by renewing my gold membership here.

bc/eaa is growing on me.
it is sweet for cardio because it is so light. no flavor burps, just some solid fuel for the workout!

did 1/2 hr run followed by some high rep leg work.
3x20 155lb hack squats on smith
3x20 135lb romanian deads
4x15 3 plate seated calf raise

it's cold and snowy here today. it makes me want to put on a layer of fat an hibernate.

the flavor is growing on me. i started liking the fact that it's a very light flavor system for my workouts. usually i switch flavors of xtend every few weeks because i get sick of it after awhile. but i don't think i'll get sick of lg's bc/eaa.

hank, do you notice an increase in protein synthesis from the bcaa/eaa stack, or an increase in endurance at the gym?
