I can't train on stationary equipment either. There's just something about getting outdoors and actually doing IT, that gets me all pumped up.

I don't NEED a pod to get through cardio...but it surely helps. You could be listening to the sweet tunes of the Tossers man .

    It's the thought that counts!

  5. Since I used to live in Chicago I'd take trips to Michigan to do mountain biking and trail riding. Where I'm at now is pretty crappy though. All the trails are just sand.

I can't wait to move back North!

  6. There are some GREAT trails here in the DC area that I'd really like to take advantage of. I go hiking in VA every so often, but I really would love to try get on a bike again. It's been YEARS.

  8. Where is that at? I know that guy does a lot of photography in Canada.

My bro is in Ireland right now. I wouldn't doubt he's doing something similar.

  9. I'll be moving to either Boston, MA or Seattle, WA; either way, I'm pumped to get into some of the outdoor activities. The stuff around here just doesn't appeal to me.

Burren, Ireland. Apparently the ride was done after a pub crawl the night before

    I knew it!

You don't see beauty like that outside of Ireland. As I said, my bro is probably doing something similar as I type.

seattle is amazing. i went up there for a 3 day hardcore festival in april, and i fell in love with it. i hope one day i score an engineering job at the boeing plant in seattle.

    you been there before?

No, I haven't. I found some cheap airline tickets for a flight there in November, so I may go check it out then.

It seems to have everything I ask for in a city. I love rain. I love coffee. It's close to some great snowboarding. Some good lakes for wakeboarding in season.

Then again, I love Boston as well. I know that for a fact.

A lot of you probably know that my roots are in Chicago's South Side, but I really don't have a huge desire to move back there.

Rolandajoint, did you happen to see Modest Mouse in concert?

  16. Day 2

Had an excellent workout today for the most part. Strength was down a little on bench, but that was expected. I was hitting 230x2. Nothing spectacular there, but I expect that to go up.

Crushed my Stiff Legged Deadlifts, relatively speaking. I don't think I've done this much before. 315x5. Hams are already killing me. Real stiff.

Endurance was great and lactic acid buildup wasn't as noticeable as it normally is.

Had a gorgeous older woman film the video of the SLDLs. She was hard to flirt with though. She wasn't picking up on my wit. She had a Mediterranean accent, if that means anything.

She started filming in the middle of my first rep. Don't mind the hair.

  24. nah. not a huge fan of them. i do enjoy them from time to time tho.

seattle is awesome tho. its a big city with a more intimate feel to it. and the weather, well i thought it was perfect. and i love gloomy weather in the winter, and cool breezy sunny days in the summer, and thats EXACTLY what seattle has. and its not dark until like 930 or 10.

  25. I wonder how much weight I can SLDL right now... Probably 315 (ounces).

  27. How do you guys dose ZMA. It seems nearly impossible for me to take it correctly. I can't have it with food. I can't have it with calcium. I have to take it within 60mins from when I go to sleep.

Am I able to take it an hour before I drink my casein shake before bed? Will the calcium from the shake still affect the ZMA after it's been digested?

I remember now why I quit buying this stuff.

What I have gathered is that the problem with taking ZMA with calcium is that the zinc and calcium will compete for absorption with the magnesium, and you pretty much render the ZMA formula useless. It kinda screws me up too. I like to cram in one last meal before I go to sleep which is usually ground beef & cheese or ground beef & spinach, but I gotta take my ZMA too, so what do I do? Stay up late every night.

  29. Shadow is totally right on why ZMA does not work with calcium. I wouldn't take it an hour pre shake personally as it kind of defeats the purpose still.

What you want to do with minerals like zinc and magnesium are restore the depleted areas in your body from your insane workouts earlier in the day. Even if the ZMA is digested when you have your shake, you are still drawing away from it with the calcium from the shake because calcium feeds on magnesium and zinc to get absorbed into your body...which would deplete your stores again.

I have forfeited any late calcium or food in general for my zmk/somnidren gh...and i've seen better results this way than with a shake near bedtime. Everyone is different though I suppose.

I would have an extremely hard time getting used to not eating after 7pm just so I could take some ZMA.

It's tempting. I'd love to try some Somnidren-GH and skip the shake, but I'd have to give it a go for at least 6 weeks to see how it affects me...Perhaps a log in the making?...

    ***10 minutes pass***

Okay, so I just finished taking a dump and within the process I devised a plan...

I normally have three shakes a day. Two whey shakes, and one casein shake before bed. What I can do is have my dinner meal around 5pm (when I normally have my second whey shake), and then around 7:30pm I can double up on a whey/casein shake. 4hrs later, take my ZMA, hit the sack a half-hour after that. How does that sound?

  31. By the way, I'm UBER sore today. I'd call it DOMS, but it's really not delayed at all.

  32. Even further improvement on my ZMA-Diet Plan!...

Sip on 15g of L-Leucine between my last shake and taking my ZMA.

That will mean I'll be getting in 35-40g of free-form Leucine daily.

    This is the winner!

I actually take my zmk/somnidren with some purple wraath some nights. I figure I win on both sides because I am not taking in calcium and at the same time i'm still getting some protein before bed.

somnidren log could be fun times

  34. So I tried the diet change yesterday. Honestly, I didn't care for it at all. I was hungry by the time I went to bed, and I woke up in the morning with some nasty stomach pains.

I decided instead of taking out the ground beef meal, I'm just going to add some of the ground beef to my dinner meal. So instead of just the chicken, I'll be having beef as well.

I'm still real sore from Friday. I may try to get in to the gym to do cardio today, but my hams are killing me.

Then you had SOMS, Sudden Onset Muscle Soreness, which often times may lead to POMS, Prolonged Onset Muscle Soreness.

I'm pretty sure I just made those up.

  39. Dude, my lower back is begging for some recovery time before it gets hit by deads again. I already have squats to do tomorrow. Deads will have to wait a bit. Maybe another week or so.
