Nizoral for hair loss

I think some people use Nizoral for hair loss (maybe), but here was an article I found that showed it possibly did not help.

I'm confused - you say that it shows that it might not help, but that report cites the studies that show that it does indeed help.....

The only negative thing it says is it's not FDA approved, and isn't guaranteed to give you thicker hair, kind of a "well it might not work for everyone" which is true of any treatment.

Did you link the right article or am I getting myself confused?

It works by blocking dht topically and the good news is it doesnt absorb into your skin and effect hormonal levels . Esp the hair thicker part. I've been using the 1 % for a couple years and got the 2 % Doctor approved so I alternate between the two.

the article is questionable. I just glimpsed at it before i posted it. i should have read it more throughly.

I have been using the 1% for almost 6 months. It definitely doesn't make your hair thicker. However from my experience, it does help in slow down the shedding hair.

Try revita, it's good stuff, with keto in it already.

Revita 2oz. $27.99

Nizoral 7oz $13.99
14oz $27.98

You can get 7x more nizoral for the same price as 2oz of revita. Thats a lot more keto for your $. Is revita really that much better?

I beleive you gotta start at a young age to witness it's power. I'm using it eod, I'll let you know in 20 years if it worked lol

I'm pretty sure I will still be around here by then, so let me know.

I tell you what. Lets do an experiment. You do the revita ( I am assuming that is what you are talking about) and Ill do the Nizoral. In 20 years we can post some pics of our scalps and see which one we should have been using all along.

Sounds good to me.

Revita has a lot more good stuffin it than just keto. Nizoral made my scalp itch like a mother. Revita doesn't. The other ingredients have good research behind them.

I never had that problem with Nizoral, but to each his own.

I quess I am also afraid that if I try the revita, I might like it too much. If that happens i would be stuck paying close to $30 for 2oz worth of shampoo forever. I the long run I will probably give it a shot

Yeah esp if you sweat nizoral itches. its bearable though. I may pick up some Revita just to give a break from mostly keto , which nizoral contains, and maybe some exciting fluff and shine ingredients in my scalp. Mod Request Can we get this thread Sticked?

revita's stuff is not the fuller, thicker hair type stuff. They cite studies which indicate hair regrowth for the apple ployphenols, spin traps, copper petides, and other stuff. I can't remember off hand. But it seems far more than legit enough to have me on my third bottle. Yes, hair loss has greatly slowed. Am I growing hair? Who knows, and if I do, I still won't know, as I just started taking toco8 a while back.

so the general concensus is that nizoral MIGHT prevent hair loss despite it being a dandruff shampoo ?

read Up on BV's thread that he posted like five years ago, on this forum! You'll learn everything you'll need to know on hair loss. It helped me a lot!

neat, i got myself a script for ketokonozole just the other day. This might be cool if it helps with hair loss :)

I wouldn't go as far as to say niz prevents hairloss reaper... it does however add an extra helping hand to any hairloss "regime".

People often cite what they call the "big three" for the most success - Propecia (well, finasteride - generic or otherwise), Minoxidil and nizoral. Kind of a greater than the sum of it's parts thing... use just nizoral and you probably won't see a huge amount of benefit, but use it in conjuction with say propecia and minox and you may see better results than either used alone.

Even more specifically, it's an anti-fungal that prevents the cells from reproducing. I used to market the cream and shampoo to dermatologists before it went generic. I've never heard of the itching/sweating relationship, but in pill form, docs used to encourage those with topical infections to sweat after dosing to allow it to be released via sweat glands to the skin's surface.

Ive never used nizoral before so i cant really give an opinion. But from what ive studied on hairloss through my own suffering, nizoral is usually used by a lot of guys as a base product in their hairloss supplement stack. Ive heard its quite harsh and best used a couple times a week as it can dry the scalp out.

I prefer using T-Gel as a milder alternative and Dr Proctor regrowth shampoo as a proper 4 times a week shampoo to help maintain and regrow my hair.

No shampoo on its own is going to regrow your hair. Your best bet is stacking with other products - see my thread in supplement reviews.

Nizorol dried out my hair like crazy. I don't recommend using this more than 2-3 times per week.

I might try Revita, as I heard it is not as aggressive at drying out.

I don't think I need fina.

and I don't actually have significant hair loss (if any) and this might be all in my head. They recommended not to take minox either unless I do know for sure that I am balding ?

so just take saw palmetto and revita in the meantime ?

Reaper -

If you see signs of hairloss and want to make moves to slow it down id recommend Dr Proctors shampoo. It doesnt contain minox but does have ingredients like saw palmetto, copper peptides and a natural milder minoxidil that helps regrowth without the shedding effects. It is basically an all in one shampoo and will probably be better suited to your needs than nizoral. I alternate this with T Gel throughout the week and any itching i used to get has completely dissapeared which in turn has reduced hairloss.

If you dont want to take any orals just make sure you are getting your daily multi's with vit E

I'm not really sure if I am just normally shedding, or if I am actually losing hair. I've been under a tremendous amount of stress within the past 6 months in particular.

I seem to lose like 10-15 hairs a day.

and around 5 or 6 in the shower.

I was told that I shouldn't use minox since I do not actually 'know' that I am losing hair.

normal people lose up to 100 hairs a day so this is normal to see the odd few in the shower. If your strting to feel less weight in your hair or showing a bit of scalp then maybe its time to pay attention to it. How old are you? Is there baldness in your family?

Id always go topical before i start with orals.

Koopa.

Thank again for the help. No I don't believe MBP runs in my family. I'm currently 23 yrs old. I'll give topical solutions a try for now. I take 2.7g of Saw Palmetto/ED. Divided into 3 doses. Is that enough or just I take more ?

that sounds plenty to me. MPB can be caused by a number of things. I dont appear to have any MPB in my family from either my mums or dads side but i still suffer from thinning. It can be common in gym bunnies like us though due to higher test levels. Maybe check out some supplements you are using. I ditched anything that messed with my hormones and my hair got better.

Check out Toco8 by Primordial. I had good results using it alongside a hair/skin/nails multivit and Dr Proctors shampoo as well as propecia.

If i were you i would recommend getting the shampoo and getting a nice hair/nails vitamin. Fishoil can also be good.

Use Dr Proctors with some Toco8 just now and if you dont see results or the problem gets worse, take a look at your diet/weightlifting supps/ cardio regime and also what you use in your hair!! If you see no improvement after a few months it might be time to start on the propecia and minox.

p.s i take propepcia on a one every 2 or 3 day basis to help keep the fin levels in my body but to avoid any risk of side effects!
