This study shows an extract of cats claw activates the igf-1 gene, for those who know more then me about igf-1, would it benefit muscle growth??

Hard to say as cat's claw also reduces inflammation significantly and that is one pathway that is significant to muscle gain.

I really don't know but it'd be good to hear some informed responses.

I used it once a few years ago, and I have to say, I looked a lot better after...Not as awesome as I look now, but it does work.

Aye. You would not be able to take something like x-factor as it may negate some of the effects. Igf-1's really shines in periods of caloric deficit, hence other diet staples like fish oil would be a no no. If the raise in igf was good enough from an extract though, it would blow any of those away anyway. Also the extract might not even have the anti inflammatory properties of unacaria tomentosa .
