Abstract

The influence of the amount of solvent (sesame oil) on the degree and duration of action of subcutaneously injected testosterone (TE) and its propionate (TP) has been studied in castrated male rats. In the ease of TE, exhibition of sustained biological activity was prevented by the larger and favoured by the smaller volume of oil. TP exhibited a more prolonged and intense activity when it was administered in the larger volume of oil. These findings are discussed.
