First off use your best judgement about whether or not it really is an abscess - I've had probably 10 abscess scares. Red, swollen, even hot and sometimes flu symtoms that turned out to be nothing but a bad injection.
IMO it's always better to be safe than sorry, abscess can be very dangerous if left alone and quite treatable when caught early. You don't want surgery!
In canada I can tell my doctor wtf I want because it's socialized. In the states i think they would cancel your insurance if they found out your juicing (correct?). You could just make something up, like you got poked by a metal object or wood or something and it got infected - he may know your lying, but he can't prove it.
