Humour me - relative heptatoxicity of alcohol consumption vs methyls

I have always wondered just how heptatoxic both of these were. Let me word it like this:

Guy A takes 30mg of epistane (I use this because it's what I'm using)
Guy B has 8 beers (because my roomate does this almost every night)

Who's liver enzymes are going to be more messed up? Of course the strength of the methyl will make a big difference but I am just looking for a ballpark idea of how much worse taking methyls is for your liver than drinking.

Is it a question of length of use?

Thanks

Question of a bunch of things...
What's the alcohol content of the beer?
Any previus illness/injuries?
Any other meds/supps being taken?
etc etc

Plus are you looking for long term or short term effects? Are we comparing over a 6 week period or year round use? I know what you're trying to get at but I just wanted to illustrate the many variables that would go into answering that with anything more than a rough guess.

My guess would be over similar periods of time that the alcohol would have a worse effect on the body.

my guess is each individual is way too different to determine anything conclusive. That being said, a few things of note:

1. havoc is supposed to be relatively mild
2. my guess, from what you said, is that your roommate drinks like this year round, whereas you likely are smart enough to know these things need to be cycled. My guess is that FAR more liver problems can be traced back to alcohol than methyl consumption, even if you accounted for the higher number of drinkers than oral steroid users. All this being said, you would never know for sure unless you both got bloodwork. I would say just don't combine both factors, and be smart enough to use something like AI's cycle or life support or thermolife liver longer. Also, make sure to keep the cycle's of reasonable length and a conservative period of time off.

Couldn't tell you too much about his medical history, but I don't think he takes any supplements or medications, except advil all the time (probably b/c he's hung over haha)

Normal beer, 5%.

I am kind of curious about long term effects as well as short term. I don't know anyone who has gone binge drinking for 6 weeks straight, but I've known some guys who were drink at bare minimum every other night for 2-3 months (6 beer minimum I'd say).

At the same time though, I would be interested in the effects say, on 2 healthy males receiving regular bloodwork over the course of a day, and maybe a week.

Any anti-steroid media source would be very quick to cite liver damage as a possible side effect, but do we ignore an equally bad substance in alcohol? A guy who uses a methyl 3-6 weeks with milk thistle, ALA, and NAC for liver protectant vs a guy who gets trashed 3x a week (many college students)? Who has the better liver?

Advil in combination with alcohol...You're coming out on top so far :P

hahah I never take that ****, the only time I have ever taken any of those things is ibuprofen once, when I broke my finger 4 days before the biggest hockey game of the year. I took so much ibuprofen that I could pretty much slap myself in the face and I would barely even feel it.

That was back in high school though. The way some people I know pop advil, tylenol, ibuprofen etc makes me wonder how much damage they are doing to themselves to get rid of a little back pain or a headache... how about you think about why you have that back pain in the first place, rather than taking a pill to make it go away?

Cause it's easier to mask the pain with a pill than do the things needed to keep your back in proper working order.

I once drank for about 2 months straight. Like literally a fifth and a 12 pack a day. I had just got back from fishing in Alaska and had tons of money and no job or responsibilities. Wake up-drink-pass out-wake up-drink-pass out, etc. Fun times. That is until I got really sick and wound up hospitalized due to having no immune system. Funny thing is my liver numbers were fine. Nothing out of whack just sick with no production from my immune system. I might not be the best person to compare to though, as I have run bloodwork while on Superdrol with no elevated liver enzymes and cholesterol levels were fine. Just lucky like that maybe?

It's possible you're just lucky or just that at your age you were in good enough health to recover. No immune system isn't a good thing either :)

Haha yeah true. Obviously my binge had amazingly negative effects on my health, otherwise I wouldn't have ended up in the hospital and wasted down to 170lbs from my previous 200lbs. I just got back to a lean 200 and its been 2 and a half years since being hospitalized. Nothing is harmless, it's all dose and duration.

Steroids and Beer

Steroids and Beer are definatly two loves of my life,
But yes you kindahave to seperate them when enjoying them. On the rare occasion me and some crazy friends downed 4 or 5 dianabols w a picture of beer but we didnt give a rats ass aboutthe future. Older and wiser now, Iam more in touch with my bodies day to day "feelings" After bodybuilding for close to 15 years and getting more and more serious about competing again and really doing damage, Ive assesed this one thought process about alcohol, steroids, and training. The Human body is extremely resiliant and always overcoming sickness and abuse. While capable of undergoing a tremendous amount of physical and mental stresses, we must also remember not to hit it too hard for too long. Ill go on to say steroids and alcohol, arent really that bad, even if done together, but like the late dan duchaine said, if your cycling something more than 20 weeks out of the year your a heavy user. If your drinking the other 22 weeks, just because your not taking AAS your not really giving your liver a huge break, but its better than both at the same time. I am about to turn 30 soon and I will say Ive had to let go of the drinking to surpass my previous best bodyweight of 232. I just made it to 242, with only prohormones and a little insulin, and hardly any drinks. Lesson to be learned folks, its much better to lift and grow, then to drink and stay small and weak.

Just dont drink and juice,,,,,all the time. :O)

find other hobbies like, school, music and romance.
Pass the tabs and ale hahahahhah

Funny post... and slightly worrying :d :d

I drank like 2 beers on cycle, but I planned on only being on for 3 1/2 weeks (20/20/20), stopped, drank during my first week of pct (only 4 beers), ended up being full recovered in 10 days of pct and just finished my 14th day of epistane (20/30) again.

Starting PCT now, and have not drank since those last 4 beers. It is gonna be hard with St Pattys day this weekend, but I'll limit myself severely. I am also taking nac, ala, milk thistle, etc..

This was part of my motive for making this thread, but I am also very interested in the replies.

I may just stick to mary jane until pct is over, but I'd like to have a few on St Patties day... hmmm. I am not a big drinker generally but it's a special occasion.
