In the notacow crystal Fina method methanol is used as the tren solvent. as the only source of methanol available to me is pretty much the hardware store ( also in the UK it almost always has purple dye and god knows what else added)

I'm considering isoprop instead. are there any positives / negatives to this?

I believe its less toxic but I figure there must be a reason its not used in the original method! a lesser solvent for tren? must be better than BA BB still!

thanks again guys!

I've used iso-alcohol in a "Crystal Fina evaporation method conversion" instead of heet and it worked good.

Nutz, I used the common iso and it worked good. This of course was for a different method of Fina conversion though, but there was no problems dissolving the Fina.

The water can be "salted out" of the isopropanol. Add salt to the rubbing alcohol and shake vigourously. The water and alcohol will seperate into two distict layers. The water layer is the lesser one.
