This is me now, and I want to be bigger...

So I did my first PH cycle a couple months ago. I did hdrol 50/75/75/75/75 and I gained about 8 pounds. Now a month after PCT I'm down 5 pounds but I think it's mostly fat and water weight. I have a major water retention problem in that one day I will see my abs a bit and my waist will be much narrower than the next day. I'm pretty sure it's water retention because if I go out to a bar and drink with friends and have a couple shots, pee all night, the next morning I look at least a little more ripped.

A little history, I used to be super skinny, then I had thyroid issues and went on hormone therapy, shot up to 225 lbs, then got thyroid treatment and more therapy and now I've been stable for 2 years at around 160 - 170. Losing that weight was a ton of work and I used P90X. At one point I was pretty buff, 16-inch arms, 42-inch chest, but I still had a lot of fat. My main goal for the past year has been fat loss.

This is me now: 5'-8.5" 165 lbs, around 15% body fat (which is mostly around my midsection), 28 years old
Measurements today (cold):
Arms: 14.75" (they get up to 15.5" on arm days) (70lb barbell curl x 8)
Calves: 15.5"
Waist: 33.5"
Chest: 39" (bench is usually 195 x 8 but lately 200 or 205)

me3.jpg
me2.jpg

Anyway, I'm planning my next cycle. I have a bunch of stuff on hand and I'm hoping you guys can suggest what to do. I want to shed some fat and gain muscle for the summer. I would like to be at 170 - 175 lbs and around 12% body fat. I don't need to be shredded. I have got to lose this belly fat and my chest and biceps need a lot of work too. I go to the gym four to five days a week.

What I have:

PHF Super Mass (sdrol) 5mg x 90
Iron Mag Labs halo (hdrol)
Iron Mag Labs cynostane (used it for a couple days, actually made me look a lot leaner)
a bunch of support supps and Clomid and Torem

What I'm thinking is running sdrol at 5mg ED for three weeks, and then going to cynostane for three weeks, then doing PCT. I have never used sdrol before but from what I read 5mg shouldn't have much side effects. I'm just concerned with water retention on sdrol because it seems to be a big issue for me.

As for diet, I never used a mass protein builder before. Are those worth it? I see a lot of fat in those mass shakes. Eating is an issue for me, but I can bring shakes to work. For breakfast I usually have 1.5 cups oatmeal with skim milk, and a 12 ounce protein shake with skim milk, lunch usually I have a good piece of lean meat (grilled chicken or steak) with veggies, dinner will be the same as lunch along with some rice or whole wheat pasta. I have two or three protein shakes throughout the day.

Any help and/or criticism is appreciated.

What kind of program are you doing?

Also you aren't 15% brother. No offense or anything, but I'm the same weight at approximately 15% and am considerably leaner.

I personally feel like you are jumping into DS too early (which is shown by all of the gains you lost from your last cycle). You should put some serious work into your training routine/diet and you could make a ton of progress naturally before using AAS/DS.

Yeah I agree with you about training and diet. Although it seems like I have hit plateaus in my bench and squat. My pull ups have stayed at 12x for a while too.

Just for reference this was me on my 5th week of hdrol:
me4.jpg

I liked how I felt pumped, my focus in the gym was intense, recovery was insanely quick (unlike a week or more now), my traps and delts looked bigger, my midsection was slimmer.

I'm not limited to those options, whatever advice you guys can add is appreciated.

This isnt an attack but you should strongly consider getting your nutrition and trainin on point and lean out naturally. Cuz most likely the cycle will only be a temp fix and you will be disatisfied after if you cant maintain it properly. You can still make great changes naturally before hand. Good luck brotha.

this is an attack. and sry to say, but youre over 15% bf. and over 15% bf at 5'8.5 and 165lbs, you were never buff, and youre pretty far from lean. it was just puffy fat and your ego thinking it was muscle. stop using the ds game to get somewhere because its pretty obvious from your last cycle that your effort in exercise is sub par. no cycle in the world will help you get where you want to be without putting out the effort on your part. that means take your training serious, take your nutrition more serious, and take a look at yourself for what it is. a leaned out you would be in the vicinity of 5'8.5 at 150lbs ~10%bf. you really think thats buff?

I totally get what you're talking about. I know I'm not eating enough, and that has to change. I'm gonna keep working on it and work harder. I'll save the ph's for later. Thanks.

Eating more should not be your goal unless you wanna cut for the next entire year and probably lose 75% of the muscle you spent time trying to put on. Your diet should be for leaning out right now.

You need to get down to 10-12% and then bulk. Id say you look 18+%. You can get "bigger" if you want but its gonna get ugly IMO. If you wanna look "better and muscular" (i.e. getting frequent stank on the hangdown) you need to lean out. I GUARANTEE you will look bigger if you lean out while keeping the muscle that you have because you will actually be able to see muscle. Then use the dark side to get big. You won't get far trying to be big AND cut.

Much harsh love! HIIT is your friend now, go kill things.

lol tough love works some times. but i got hard negged by that fruit cake with the big reps. makes me glad the app doesnt care about reps

anyways, back to op. save your cycle for when you slim down. non of the stuff will expire for years, so dont worry about that. then youll be able to completely see the difference it makes cuz there wont be as much fat covering them. itll give youthe ego boost of the century

OP, just my opinion, but you have two choices learn how to bulk natty then cut down natty, or cut down to 10% natty see what you have then clean bulk bud. I was in much worse shape than you 20+% bf and got down to around 10% in a little over 6 months. Learning how to train and diet natty will only help you when u start using gear bud. I prefer carb cycling for both cutting and bulking. Spend some time in the nutrition section on here bro

lol i remember my first cut taking 6+ months too and i ended at like 14%, not even all that impressive. just to add to beaner's psot, id look into hiit training as well. nothing has shown results as good as heavy lifting + weight training combined with diet control

HIIT for the win. There's a good cookie-cutter workout called "the show time workout". It's hard and it works.

Are you training for an endurance event or for physique purposes [rhetorical]?

Sprinting will do a number of things for you, besides improving cardiovascular conditioning burning a few extra calories.
1. Will increase anaerobic enzymes. Hence, you'll be better able to utilize CHO for high intensity work.
2. Increase glycogen synthase activity and density. Hence, more of the CHO you consume will be stored as glycogen.
3. Increase beta-oxidation enzymes. Hence, you will be more efficient at using fat for fuel.
4. Train the type II fibers of the lower body, as well as place more stress upon the global core (abs, obliques, etc.).

1-3 will improve nutrient partitioning. In other words, more of what you eat will go towards muscle vs. fat. All this from 2-3 sessions of 6-10 sprints per session.

Br
On HIIT.

Glad youre open to constructive criticism cuz 'not eating enough' isnt the reason you look the way do. You need to eat enough cleaner foods. Youre not one of those guys that can eat cake and gain no weight and if you were, judging by your pic those days are gone then. Get your diet in brotha, when i finally started eating smarter people couldnt help but ask what gear i used cuz they dont wanna believe its a matter of discipline and determination. And i didnt use for the first time for another two years after that. Aint no rush. Anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Do you track your diet (macro split)? If not, you need to start yesterday.

As far as body fat... you're waaayyy beyond 15%. I would say 25-30%
You just got extra puffy from your cycle... not muscular. I would worry about getting smaller first.

Here's a graph to give you an idea:

Nvm, i cant post pictures under 150 posts... soneone want to link the popular male bf% graph?

Not saying I don't like a fit athletic chick. With a build like Nicky Whelan(sorry can't link a pic not enough posts). But all in all I'd prefer more of a Kim Kardashian body type. Just no anorexic supermodels.

OP, my suggestion is that you spend 6 weeks proving to yourself that you can follow a strict diet, workout routine, and sleep routine. Also not partying or drinking in excess. the reason for this is act as if you are on cycle and you will see some cycle like results. Not placebo. Somone with your body type needs to naturally see what you can accomplish before using AAS/DS/PH.

after six weeks of good hard working out and cutting then look for mild PH for cutting. and make some lean gains while cutting.

From 15% and down all appear to be flexing their abs, which can make it confusing. They are just weird poses too.

And to above, yup, 30% female ftw. I'll take a double order. :p

I would be dieting my ass and training like a nut case if I were in your position BEFORE engaging in hormones.

It will take lots of time and effort, but it will be worth it.

Got burnt out posting here and a few others daily...

I like to pop in now and see whats going on ....

Not a whole lot ha.

Also -- getting deeper into prepping people for shows and nutrition for regular 'serious' people.
