Why the excess blood after injections??

I am 4 weeks into my first cycle and after a few of my injections quite a bit of blood has come out after the needle is removed on a few. It took about 3-4 alcohol pads to clean it up. However I have always been aspirating and there is no blood in the syringe...just an air bubble. What is causing this...also I went for a tetnis shot about 1 week into the cycle and that injection in the delt also resulted in a bit of blood comming out. Why the blood.....thought it only happened if you enter a vein??

Probably passing through a vein, just keep aspirating. Are you using ECA, or taking aspirin by itself? Also, check your blood pressure just to be on the safe side.

Right, probably passing through a vein somewhere on the 1" or 1.5" travel of the needle.

And an alcohol pad will make it bleed more too. A sterile gauze would work better. You can still use an alcohol pad (I do), just use one and hold pressure on the site while massaging the muscle.

Maybe the Z-Method will help??? Just a theory...maybe someone who's actually pinned before and has some knowledge of these things can help out :D

See the attached image for a depiction of the Z-Method and also I've attached two nursing manuals, etc, for IM Injection that I've found on this board...I think in one of strateg0s' posts....

don't think that was the case.. arteries are buried to deep to hit easily... unless you were injecting on the inside of your thigh..

no, it was on the upper outer sweep of my quad. who knows what i hit. it was scary/crazy/cool to watch though. don't think i'd repeat that process again though.
