how long until the AI works its magic

Currently injecting test cyp. I was prescribed arimidex for a high estradiol levels (over 100). My question is does this work by eliminating estradiol from my system, or does it work by preventing estradiol from being created? Is the process quick, or will it take a while to bring down that high number to a more tolerable level? Thanks in advance.
