The BAN

the Ban- Everyone step up!!!!

The bill passed the House & now is with the Senate. Everyone needs to do a Google search for their state's Senator, then sit down and write an intelligent, non-abusive email/letter to their own Senator. Let them know what you think & that you disagree with the bill. Mine is Dick Durbin in Illinois. I sent mine about 2 weeks ago. Complaining here, or any other board, does absolutely nothing. Just preaching to the choir. We elect these officials, remind them of that, and they are there to express the views of the constituents.

And from what I understand just cause one substance might not be on the list does not mean the govt can't ban it without notice now or in the future. Nothing will "slip through" with this bill. Search Dietary supplements safety act (s722) for the Senate version.

The only way they "might" even look at it is through snail mail. Working with politicians, you can see how they disregard emails and faxes.

I could show you the response they sent me, which pretty much was a templated letter that completely ignored everything I wrote, and pointed out the "safety" and "benefits" of the bill.

True enough. I was just thinking in terms of timeframe before the Senate vote soon. Durbin will only reply to emails from registered constituents in Illinois. Durbin is using the Belcher/ephedra rally cry when the coroner's report stated that ephedra was not the major cause of death. Frustrating.

Goodluck getting through to Durbin. Isn't he the one that drafted this thing in the first place?! Yeah, like he's going to vote no on a bill that he proposed. The only way you would ever prevent this is not by sending a letter. Not enough of us out there for them to care. At least not enough of us sending letters. No, we'd need a huge protest. A protest with over a million people involved. Good luck organizing that. Especially before the ban goes through.

So many people out there only know about prohormones what the news has told them. And seeing as how the news is completely bogus when it comes to suppliments in general, people think prohormones are steroids. Funny enough that of course as we know isn't a negative associationi to us because we know how to safely use steroids even if not all of us do ourselves we know how and that such a thing is possible. To those outside our small community however, steroids might as well be crack or heroin.

Nope, as much as we all might like to think otherwise, the majority of Americans, uninformed as they are, actually support this ban.

All we can do is stock up while it's still possible. This thing is going through and it's going through soon unless a miracle happens.

My whole point to Durbin is to regulate the industry but not a blanket ban. You're right most people know nothing about supps. Look at the boards here even. There are a lot of 'what is this, what does it do" questions. Sometimes I think people get caught up in the latest methyl or whatever & dont even know if it is best for them.

My point to Durbin was that post ban you are going to have kids going for full on juice without the proper knowledge. Since they are all class III drugs why not go all out mentality. Everyone thinks they need the edge. My friend used to run a GNC and got frustrated that Parents were bringing their under 18 kids in & wanting steroids. They all want the next football star. IMO makes a more dangerous situation than a regulated industry.
It is a losing (lost) battle though.

I got a letter today stating ebay has now banned all andro products. I did a search and there are very few out there. I just bought some on ebay and the seller sent me a letter along with my andro product.

They still allow 1-AD for some reason, but they are cracking down on the hard stuff. Fucking idiots. They have a section titled "Adrogenic Anabolic Steroids". What the hell do they expect people to post? There is a guy selling real sustanon on there right now. Run a search and see. I can't post the link. They also say no ephedrine products can be sold there anymore, but people are doing it like crazy.

So are you saying they wont allow ephredrine being sold as a stand alone product when the ban hits ?

Crap id hate to have to go on a buying spree again im over 800 bucks on phs almost 200 on ephredrine diet pills this Sh** getting expensive.

Why would you ever buy ephedra diet pills anyway? You can just buy ephedrine HCL OTC for real cheap. It's cheaper, more effective, and more legal than ephedra is or ever was.

Anyone got any idea as to when this may go through?

Also, I saw plenty of VPX PH's on Ebay this morning. 1-test, Monster test, etc. So, they must be selectively banning stuff. I don't think they've taken M1T off Ebay either.

I'm not too familar with drug law or how it works, but is it possible that one might find anabolic research chemicals available in the future?

Hey bud, I'm pretty sure you'll never see any steroids as research chems. They are class II (or III, I forget) scheduled, meaning jail time for possession.

My Senator doesn't completely ignore email. I've written about 5 times and get a regular snail mail response to every email.

I've received 2 letters back from congressmen and they write back about different bills. not ph bill. I dont think they have a clue.

I don't know what's up with that. My Senator specifically addressed my concerns and even answered a follow-up letter. Maybe you should try snail mail after all.

so I suppose there's still no updates on the ban?
Seems like they have another ban to worry about for now. Hopefully that stalls things. Do you really think they'll put prohormones before AKs and Uzis?!!?!??

Yes. Remember, these are Republicans. Assault weapons are a second ammendment issue; which to Republicans is the most important ammendment. They'll just let it expire. Prohormones is an issue about THE CHILDREN!

Yeah! My kids can drink and smoke, but they better not mess with their hormone levels!

It's funny no one wants them to restrict PH/PS, and I don't either. But in the same thread you bash Republicans for trying to allow people to own guns? Guns are dangerous in hands of criminals, not in the hands of law abiding citizens. Please don't act like your freedoms are being impeded on if the want to take PH/PS away, and act like gun ownership to other people might not be equally important. Hypocrites.

thejames- I think you meant to say "rights" not "freedoms." There's an argument to be made that freedoms are actually being taken away with a PH ban. It depends on your understanding of the role of government.

handzilla- Yes, they'll really ban PH before AK-47s. The vast majority already support the PH ban in Congress, so there's no argument about how to proceed.

Personally I am pro-gun. Most crimes are committed with illegally obtained guns anyway. The waiting period is good, but restricting the sale of certain weapons is dumb. If I want a friggin assault rifle because I find it more comfortable, or more accurate, or whatever, then I should be able to own it. I was just comically joking on how Republicans think.

Whether you want to admit it or not, the AVERAGE Republican is about government not intruding on economical matters, and about the government restricting as much as possible on personal matters. Think about it, pure right wing philosophy states that the government shouldn't restrict corporations, shouldn't tax heavily, shouldn't have government welfare programs of any kind, etc. Right wing philosophy also states that it is the government's job to tell us what to read, what to write, what to say, what to watch, what to listen to, and what we can or can't put in our bodies. They are about increasing economic freedom and decreasing personal freedom.

Personally I'd like to increase both economic AND personal freedom. That's why I'm a Libertarian.

If you want to make this a debate on gun control, I think we need a new thread.

"Guns don't kill people. Prohormones kill people."
