Greetings all,

I have been a lurker here and at other boards such as this for quite some time and have thoroughly researched advice on ph and aas, but I haven't ever seen advice on a certain subject, that being....

If a person was a previous level of strength/mass and was looking to get back to where he was before in terms of such, would it be wiser to try and get back to that level naturally before partaking of the ph and/or AAS goodies?

I am currently sitting at around 75% of my previous best as far as strength goes but I would like to return to my former self and eventually surpass that level, however, I am concerned with getting the most bang for my buck and keeping the majority of the mass that I would gain from a decent cycle.

My theory so far is that a decent 3-4 week cycle of m1t and 4ad td, will allow me to get back to my lost strength and allow me to harden up a bit in the process due to my muscle memory.

However, I am considering a different type of cycle in order to maximize my gains while minimizing sides.

I was thinking this, (and please do call me a moron if my logic is not up to par, the criticism is welcome)

Week 1-2 (10mg m1t/4AD trans) Adjusting accordingly up or down for the m1t.
Week 3-4 (Either Methyl-dien + 4AD trans or m4ohn + 4ad trans, I am leaning towards the m4ohn because of the supposed anti-estrogenic properties).
Week 5-6 PCT with clomid and nolva, some liquid cialis in case the libido isn't up to par.

My stats:
28 years old, 10 years of gym time, 8 of which knowing what I was doing.
6'1" 230lbs, 12-13% BF
Former Lifts:
380+ Bench
520 Squat
560 Dead
140lb flat dumbells for sets of 6
295 Incline
All without belts/wraps/straps

Now, about 75% of that. :(

Yes, nothing spectacular, but I figure that it will allow people to better evalute my situation.

Thanks all in advance.

It's easier to get bigger and stronger if you once were that way... you muscles will remember.

get your diet in check, and protein/creatine supplements first. If it is.. then go for it

75% of what's listed is till damned respectable bro.

Strength doesn't come too easily on M1T and the sides make attaining goals a bit more of a challenge. I'd go for M4OHN/4AD or straight cycle of M5AA since it has been decreed the lean strength gainer if the dosage is correct.

Good luck. What was lost will be found again more easily than you imagine. I spend nearly every fall and winter playing catch up and it gets easier every time because I've learned more.

I've been in a similar situation after a 3.5 month lay-off and got back to normal strength in 2 months using creatine and a solid diet. I think you can still improve w/out the aid of androgens for the time being. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks all for the advice.

Gaining lean mass and trying get my strength back is my main goal, the secondary goal is to try and minimize bodyfat increases in the process of doing so.

But isn't that everyone's goal anyways? ;)

My second cycle in a few months is going to be strictly a lean mass gainer/cutting cycle anti-catabolic with minimum sides, probably the m4ohn straight up, maybe drop in some triac to harden up a bit as the summer months. Or the m5aa as suggested above by Bioman, I haven't read up on that one as much but I certainly will.

I'm simply tired of always having to fight back to get my workouts in any sort of regularity and routine which = gains of course. It seems like I'm constantly striving to get back my "old" strength, which quite frankly I never really had a problem with, getting big and strong. Getting cut up however, that is entirely different. I seem to lose way too much strength and lean tissue trying to cut down to the level where that dreaded spare tire finally goes away, which I may add has never happened above 205lbs, (and quite frankly a PATHETIC strength level).

I am using the this initial cycle to not only gain a bit of muscle, but it is some form of restarting the engine of desire to truly buckle down and get back to my old habits. And of course vanity does have something to do with it as well I suppose. When your new wife looks at old photos of you and says "Mmmm papacito, who i....BABY!....you had abs?", it kinda gets you fired up, you feel me? ;) (which is of course one of the reasons low libido sides are a priority as well, heh)

As far as diet, yes, I have it timed out that by the time I finish loading on creatine I will have all my necessary items I need (hopefully, getting anxious here). And if I see that I am progressing nicely without the ph's, I will wait a bit. (Famous last words, eh?) But I will try to heed the advice IW, my conscience will take a serious beating if I were to think that I have shortchanged myself...pride I guess.

But damn it's going to be tempting.....

Thanks all.

I'm in the process of a comeback as well, I have put on 25 lbs since february and have leaned out so more that that in muscle. I used to weigh 287 and got into trouble legally, stopped the juice (in the middle of a big one and could not use any PCT) got real depressed quit training for 7-9 months and dropped to a soft 240. I am now a fairly solid 265 and I did it all with PH (and hard training and eating) , IGF comes next. Interestingly my strength is probably 80-90% back but I am still much lighter than before. At the current rate I should be a hard 270 by beach season:cool:
Good luck and it will come back quickly muscle memory is a beautiful thing.

During the summer I'm gone too often to have any sort of meaningful routine. I just try to maintain what I gained while doing a relaxed cutting cycle. This time around I've cut just a few too many calories and have been shrinking down a little more than I'd like. Add to that I sometimes don't get to workout for 7 to 14 days at a time and I lose strength fairly quickly. It gets annoying but I know in the fall I'll get to bulk again with some of the new methylated goodies and come back with a vengence.

I ended the bulk season at around 182-184 and now I'm at a fairly lean 174 although much flatter than I care for.
