you should not worry about the systolic pressure as that seems fine. The diastolic pressure is a little high but it is far from severe.
I think you should be fine finishing up another week. Try upping hawthorne to 2g / day see if that helps.

"top number" is systolic pressure and it (145) is in the normal-high range.
check it a few days in a row. Many things can affect BP... one table spoon of salt will raise it, for instance.
i wouldnt be overly alarmed.

The Hawthorn can take up to 6 weeks before it impacts blood pressure. If you want more info. you can do an advanced search under my name and Hawthorn.

You should keep it monitored. It is a little high.
I would recommend checking it several times a day and especially during and after lifting if you can. If it is high resting, it could increase to dangerous levels during heavy lifting. Also I would avoid any other stimulants.

145 systolic is not too high...the diastolic is not the greatest but nothing to get worried about. To determine hypertension it has to deviate greatly from your normal BP. 145 may be hypertensive to some but to others it may not be. Many factors could have given you a high reading too. You may want to continue repeating blood pressures to make sure it was an accurate reading. Stress at the time could elevate your blood pressure, so can eating a meal before it is taken, or doing physical activity. Most likely it is becasue an increase in water retention which will defenitly elevate your blood pressure. Just look at your overall health and age. if your a rather young guy without any cardiac history i wouldnt even worry about it. If your BP continues to increase around 175/120 + i would become very concerned.

Let me give you quick heads up, the blood pressure increase is LARGELY because a lot of the gains are water. Furthermore, since most of the gains are water, you're blood pressure goes up. It is just a correlation. Increased water retention = increasd blood pressure.Originally Posted by orvise
