Too old for gear?
Iím 48 years old and Iíve been weight training for 12 years, with a couple of lay offs. The last two years Iíve been training hard, and in the last year finally got my diet in order (205 lbs, 13% BF). I decided to try prohormones starting last summer and as such have had nice results using 1-AD, a 1-test/4AD transdermal stack, and then lastly M1-T in three cycles.
Since the ban of PH/PS substances is imminent, I'm considering trying the real deal. Why not since Iím sure the penalties will be the same. My main goal is to add some weight, but strength for now is my primary goal.
Am I too old to seriously consider using gear?

I did my first cycle at 42.Am I too old to seriously consider using gear?
As long as your training and diet are in order, a nice 400-500 mg/wk test cycle would probably give you some nice results.
Just do plenty of research and make sure you're fully recovered from your M-1-T cycle. Also make sure you have a good Post Cycle Therapy plan.

I would say older is better. Your natural testosterone level is dropping and gains are going to be harder, why not give nature a boost? Young guys can make great gains without gear, were as getting older slows down the natural abilities. I'm sure it would be a boost in the sexual department as well, I don't know many guys who's sexual energy stays high as they get older.

you could even try HCG just to see if the results are not enough if you dont want to go hard core for now. that will help the testies get back to your younger years! By the way this is what is prescribed sometimes for patients your age with a test deficiency so why not try it. but as for the drugs hell no your never too old for test it is what is in your system as a child and all the things said before are right go for it

You are certainly NOT too old. In fact, I think you will really love it as you will feel better in general. A simple cycle of 500mg of test weekly would do you great. Also if strength is desired, the addition of anavar would be great. Both anavar and test can be taken rather safely with little to no side effects.
I would encourage you to have a complete physical prior to starting your cycle. Get prostate, cholesterol, etc checked.

Thanks guys. That is what I was hoping to hear. I am getting great results from PHs, and it did occur to me the reason is my natural test is low (last tested at 265 ng). Since the summer I've dropped around 10% BF, and my bench press max increased 55 lbs on three PH cycles. I could only imagine the gains I'd get using 500 mg weekly of test and supplementing with an oral. Should I be looking at test cyp? I currently use Androgel, I'm thinking I can talk my doc into giving me a script and letting me do my own injections. Then I can add more test on top of the script I receive. Of course I will have to research sources...

Test injections are MUCH better than the patches and/or gel. However, it is unlikely that you physician will give you enough testosterone for 500mg weekly, but with a legitimate script you can order from some legit online pharmacies in the US. On a positive note, you will most likely get Upjohn Test. Cypionate which is the best.

Yeah I didn't expect to get close to enough for a 500 mg a week cycle. I wish! But at least (I assume) the doc will show me the proper injection methods. I plan to source more test to add to the stuff I can get legitimately. My next appointment isn't until April. I'm in no big hurry, since I have quite a bit of M1-T.

I'm 43 and started a cycle 5 weeks ago after being
clean for years.
My decision to start back was based on the fact
that I noticed I was spending time working out
and seemed to be in a holding patern.
It had become too easy to gain fat and damn
hard to cut without ending up looking like
kermit the frog. I was feeling pretty deflated
by the end of a diet. Just started to look more
like a "normal" guy and not someone who had
spent thousands of hours in the gym over
20 plus years. Add to the fact that I also
have a business and a family to look after
that takes up a lot of my time I just didn't
want to spend countless hours in the gym
with little or no results.
Therefore...after spending some time in
research, I got my ass back on the clock
and can only say that it was one of the best
decisions I have made in a long time.
Apart from the size and strength benefits
there is injection of energy and sexual drive.
I now get up in the morning and look forward
to a heavy leg workout right away.
You couldn't of dragged me to a squat rack
in the morning with a freakin bulldozer before.
So in answer to your question I say YES bigtime.
Obviously it also depends on your health etc. bla bla bla...
See ya at the drugstore.
