    Steroids and Cancer

i am interested in knowing the correlation between taking steroids and getting cancer. My father has always talked about cancer being a side effect of steroids but i was wondering how prevalent steroid-caused cancers are and or IF steroids even have any relationship with cancers. This is probably the only reason i have yet to try any REAL gear and would love to know more info about steroids and cancer. I have searched the net but much to my surprise i have yet to find any detailed info. any feedback, stories, or interest in this topic would be great! If my question is unclear i will try to elaborate as best as i can!! thank you in advance!!!

no correlation between testosterone + cancer, so pinning straight test is ok. Some other things are more questionable, and there is strong evidence that GH and IGF although there is no evidence it can directly cause cancer it can cause a single existing cancer cell to grow far far far faster than it would normally.

I do not know of any relation of steroids to cancer.

On a side note, Nolvadex is actually used to TREAT and reduce breast cancer.

interesting. didnt know that about GH.

So the compounds passing through the liver, stomach, bloodstream, dosent greaten the risk? Even the fact it makes your organs work harder wouldnt highten the risk either?

These are the things that worry me about taking gear, i could care less about low libido, hair loss, acne...all that stuffs treatable...ruining my organs and causing cancer is all that could really take me down!!! ha

There hasn't been any studies that show a risk. That doesn't mean there isn't a risk, but that there is no proof there is. Methylated compound are more likely to cause an issue, as is anything that generates free radicals. you could take the viewpoint that bodybuilding likely increases cancer risk by increasing free radicals...

    ha interesting theory!
well if arnold can make it past 60 i think ill be ok running a couple prohormones!! lol

Youd think they would do studies like that you know? i did read, however, that juicing during adolescence can highten the risk of bone marrow cancer.

your worried about cancer and health, so you are going to run the most toxic **** you can find? prohormones are terrible for you, and the sides suck. i am glad i never ****ed with them. I am sure ill get flamed on this "prohormone" forum, but ive heard people gaining good size, but then have so many issues after the cycle.

get yourself some injectable testosterone cypionate or enth, mild and safe.

well, what advantage is there in studies like that? None for the pharmaceutical industry as it might cost them sales. So maybe for a college, but honestly you'd have to follow legal steroid users for 20-30 years to see, and you'd need to have a good large number of people involved to minimize other factors.

yeah i see what your saying. it would be nice though and the benefit it would have on society should be enough alone to run some studies! especially with all the concern on steroid and how the media basically ruined the game of baseball because some players were using it to play better yet they dont care to fund a study showing real harm which would stop a good chunk of users! i guess the chance of having an outcome that it dosent is enough for them not too because than id see a dramatic increase in users.

Honestly no real benefit on society either. Theres about as much documentation as you'd like to see that cigarettes cause cancer, yet still somwhere between 20-25% of the population smokes. Obama still smokes from what it sounds like (just he has to sneak out of the white house to do it)

i've never heard a relation between steroids and cancer. whether you're building muscle via testosterone or not is a null environment. GH and IGF build cells indiscriminately - I.E. GH gut (more receptors in the intestines, etc), which could increase the growth of cancer.

I think cancer cells actually have more IGF receptors than normal cells, or there is some other relationship there that makes cancers spread a lot faster even if gh is just used at non-anabolic numbers like 1.5iu/day

Yeah, I just know from research into HRT they are super super super touchy about monitoring for cancer or prior cancer with GH supplementation (and igf comes from gh after processing in liver)

Not much point in worrying about it, theres nothing you can do about it.

    you are alive this long

just feel good about the choices you make day to day. Few people die earlier than their 60s, few live later than their 80s. not a huge bunch of difference given how long you'll be dead
