I had the good fortune of seeing him play. A sad day for the Yankee Pinstripes.

A sad day indeed. Bobby Murcer was a great ballplayer who had the unenviable task of having to try to fill Mickey Mantles shoes. He was a great Yankee during times when the Yankees weren't doing so great and remained a great Yankee to the end. He will be missed.

Although I was introduced to Bobby as the voice of Yankee stadium due to my age, he is one of my all time favorite Yankees.

R.I.P Bobby, you will be missed dearly. And although he didn't get to see the new stadium in person like he wanted so badly, he will be there from Day 1 on helping out the boys in stripes.
