After last nights complete domination of the #8 VT, I am completely confident in claiming LSU as the best team in college football. Let's discuss.
1. LSU's defense will shutdown any offense, including the best the PAC-10 has
2. USC looked rather average against the Vandals of Idaho.
3. LSU's offense/speed against a really good tech defense was undeniable.
4. The national championship will be played in N.O., essentially making it a
home game for LSU should they make it.
I really think LSU should SC in the polls now, but we'll probably have to wait untill Nebraska, Cal or Oregon slaps them backwards. Let the lovin' commence.

It's too early to say. USC was coasting versus the Vandals, don't read too much into it, they have done this in past years then blown teams away in the Big Games.
Wait till they play in the PAC, and likewise on the Tigers, as hot as they looked last night, let's see them versus the other SEC powers.
"After last nights complete domination of the #8 VT, I am completely confident in claiming" that preseason rankings are horse**** and should be done away with. Let's start ranking teams after week 5 or 6.
Dorsey & the rest of the LSU D is ready for all of FL!!!:bruce3:
As it stands now, UF_LSU looks like The SEC title game to be played twice.
Florida will get more of a tuneup than LSU versus Tennessee overall, Auburn's D and the Ol Miss O but as of now, gotta go with the Tigers at home, but again, too early to call.
Also a greater potential for key injuries for Florida.
LSU still has to overcome Les Miles LSU is a hell of a team but I think these would be great discussions 5-6 weeks from now . . . maybe Cal puts the hurt on USC this year and we end up in the Nat'l Title
Let's see how well the Bears handle the Ducks at Autzen, IW, then we'll talk.
SC sure made a big statement last night. Up 42-10 on Nebraska before garbage time began.
Hope SC and LSU go undefeated... just because they weren't able to play each other a few years ago.
And UCLA stunk it up. They're gonna lose 6 games this year.
UCLA getting blown out 44-6 at Utah was a surprise. The PAC-10 will get tougher then Utah so we'll see how they do. This is either an aberration or a sign of things to come for UCLA. Oregon is looking pretty good and they'll give USC some fits.
I live in Louisiana - I'm not sure I want to listen to all the SC crap the LSU people spew if they play in the Sugar Bowl.
I mean, really now. It's not like SC was given a national title on some bogus flag.
The teams didn't even play in 2003.
And - I've always said the AP Poll counts too.
I'm already preparing myself to have to listen to a bunch of crap. It would be better if LSU played anyone else.
I'll root for a Cal upset of SC.
Or UF and LSU beating up on each other (i.e. they both lose once) might knock the SEC champ out of the Sugar Bowl.
