Yeah, I dont agree with our wideouts being 9.5. I mean Carr and Fagg are returning, but I wouldn't say they are rated 9.5/10. The UM DBs are usually solid, I love that safety Phillips. He is a beast.

I think they are giving us a 9.5 because of the safety's.

We've got 3 very, very, very good ones. Kenny Phillips (yeah - f*cking baller), Brandon Merriweather, and Anthony Redd-ick(last year was out with an ACL tear).
I think there is talk of Merriweather or Redd-ick playing nickle CB. But - you've got 3 ballers and only 2 positions.

CB is where we are inexperienced (see 1st post in this thread) and that is an integral part of the secondary.
You can't rate a secondary that high with a pretty damn untested group of CB's - even with the best safety's in the US.

Edit - yeah, this filter goes a bit far....

It's almost time for me to start getting antsy as all hell for the season. I just returned from a 2 week stint in C-bus. I showed my son the stadium and toured him through campus. We went into a few merch stores looking for gear. Now I have to go to the field for a few weeks, but I'll be in high gear for CFB when I return.

What do you think about Williams asking for the release?? Plus any word on where he will go? Maybe he can sneak onto FSU's team, even though I bet his knee never recovered to how he used to be. And he has 11 charges against him, but we have been known to have some trouble makers(as you can tell by the numerous arrested or thrown off the team after this season.). From what I read Williams was supposed to be great, but never matched the expectations.

Lilkev - I'm mad at Willie. We took a HUGE chance signing him. Got skewered by every fu*king self-righteous college football fan in the country (including some Gator fans - retards, they'd have taken him had he signed).
He didn't want to work hard enough when he was healthy. He did have some bad luck with injuries and illness - I'll give him that.

He's old - he was 19 his last year of HS. He also played rush end. He can't really do that in college - I don't think (well - mabye - but that won't work in the NFL, he'll get manhandled by the OL's up there).

But - he's stuck behing our best LB - Jon Beason.
At least, Randy Shannon must not think he's got the smarts/instincts to play MLB or he'd perhaps start there (so he stays at Weak-side backer).

He'd have - at best - one year without Beast. That's if Beast leaves after this season.

It's in Willie's best interests that he leave.
It's clear to me that Shannon doesn't believe in him as an LB (I suspect he doesn't appreciate WW's free-lancing and seemingly poor ability to grasp the D playbook).

Bottom line - contrary to a large number of Cane fans, I believe Shannon has done the right thing by sitting Willie. I can't question the man's judgement. I mean - we've put out some damn good LB's in his tenure (D. Morgan, J Vilma, DJ Williams).

Oh well. Move on and let him go.
Not sure where though - I just saw Tenn. and Louisville were his options now.
He'd probably work at FSU - but I'm not sure Miami would release him to y'all.

NCAA2007 Football comes out July 19th

I will mention that I was ranked in the top250 (#246) in the world at NCAA2006 Football back in November, Xbox Live. I've been pathetic lately and I'm like ranked ~900something.. I've lost my swag for sure

In my Prime vs. a Top 300 player.

I REALLY try to "lay low" and pace myself b/c I get so jacked for college football but this freakin' thread is not helping fellas...

I live in a suburb in north columbus and ride my bike to the stadium about once a week to pay homage and get psyched. I started out taking my son (in the bike seat on the back) as soon as he could sit up. Gotta brainwash...errrrrr....I mean teach em' young. Our routine is to ride to the stadium, twice around it, and then head home. He is 7 and has been to 4 games so far. In the fall, he and his sister (5 yrs old) wake up and put in the OSU marching band CD before I even wake up because they are so excited. Don't know where they get it...

Troy Smith has the potential to easily be the best QB OSU has ever had. Although it isn't like we have a rich QB heritage...The offense is going to be exciting. Defense will reload although you simply cannot quickly replace Carp, Hawk, Schlegel. Think about it though, when was the last time OSU had a lousy defense? It will come down to TX and Iowa. Quite honestly, Iowa scares me more. Plus they are in-conference and a little later in the schedule. That game will be more crucial. After Iowa, we SHOULD have smooth sailing until Meat Chicken (say it fast...). At least a loss to Texas, at Texas, at night is one we can recover from hopefully.

Not that it matters that much but I really hope we are not number one in the polls. I could ramble about the Buckeyes all night.
