| Registered User | Larry Allen's 43 reps @ 225 lbs. Did anyone see that yesterday, during the pro-bowl contests. I never thought 225 could look so light(without any bench shirt). Porter was pretty impressive too, getting 35 and he only weighs 250. |

| My P3N1Z is chafed. | My personal best was 29, but I have a cousin who got 42 at one time...he did it a lot though, so half of it was conditioning. Our 1RM's were about the same at the time we got different 225 rep maxes. I honestly don't know what that stupid 225 test has to do with anything in football though? lol. -“Anyone who doesn't take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either.”-Albert Einstein -"Never trust the teller. | Registered User | I thought that was pretty dam impressive althought i've did it for 32 reps after my bench press workout. My workout was a pretty bangin session 2.Here is what i did 135 x 10,225 x 5,275 x 5,315 x 3, 365 x 1, 405 x 1,that's on the way up. On the way down 405 X 5, 395 x 4, 365 x 8, 315 x 18, 275 x 22, 225 x 32 .I agree with the guy above alot has to do with condition and also speed !!!!!! My workout buddy at the time was 180lbs and i could only out bench him by 15- 25lbs but when it came to reps 32 to 18 on 225! |

| My P3N1Z is chafed. | Honestly, after a weight you can do at least a good 6-8 reps, its my 'opinion' that having a good rythym will help you get more reps out. Then, add on top of that conditioning, technique, and yeah...genetix. Lots of factors... -“Anyone who doesn't take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either.”-Albert Einstein -"Never trust the teller. Trust the tale. " - D.H. | Board Supporter | larry allen max benches like 700lbs, 225 is less than doing pushups for him, porters is more impressive given his body weight |

| My P3N1Z is chafed. | 700lbs? Where did you get that from? haha...I'd love to see him bench 700lbs Hint: We'd need an ambulance...-“Anyone who doesn't take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either.”-Albert Einstein -"Never trust the teller. | My P3N1Z is chafed. | I'll have to see it to believe it...its been 'reported' he benched 700lbs RAW. He's a big boy though...325lbs. -“Anyone who doesn't take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either.”-Albert Einstein -"Never trust the teller. Trust the tale. " - D.H. | Registered User | I've seen the video, looks pretty legit. Kwyck, how much can you max? Doing 29 reps at 225# I'd guess around 500#? |

| My P3N1Z is chafed. | Nah, at the time it was maybe ~405, didn't check though. Just a rough estimate...NO WAY near 500, hehhe. -“Anyone who doesn't take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either.”-Albert Einstein -"Never trust the teller. | Registered User | I guess I'm fast twitch, because I can max 405 right now, and today I tried 225 for reps and got 18. I just gas, I don't think I could do 135 for 30. |

| My P3N1Z is chafed. | Alot more to it than that...honestly, it was mostly getting the 'rythym' down that allowed me to do so many reps. For the most part, I'm actually really fast twitch. My working weight is usually considerably lower than my max weight, but, using a light weight for reps is kind of like jogging. If you get a good steady pace going, you'll go longer. My cousin did 42 reps, no kiddin, and he was maxing around 405 at the time. BUT, he was doing the 225 test every week for months on end. I did it after my worksets for like 3-4 weeks before I got that result, I started in the low 20s. Was mostly rythym... -“Anyone who doesn't take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either.”-Albert Einstein -"Never trust the teller. Trust the tale. " - D.H.
