Great trade. Even though he is going to a division team, its the Deadskins who dont have an offensive line and cant get their 100million dollar man to show up. in return we get basically a 1st round pick (37 is close) and a possible 3rd rounder in 2011. we already have kolb groomed and ready to play, which he briefly had a chance to show that he can. with kolb we will have less mad bomber firepower but more accuracy and leadership, instead of ground balls and jokery from McChoke. Kolb may not be as talented, but if he helps the team gel together we can definitely make a run for it the next couple years.

McNabb got the job done regardless of the haterade that gets brought up every pre and post season. He had a terrible receiving core and the only time he had a go-to receiver they went to the superbowl.

He didn't want to go to Oakland, and even though Oakland doesn't have a great team, they are decent and better off than the Washingturd Skins.

I dont feel like what he did here was a job well done. Sure he played amazing against terrible defenses, padded his stats, had 350 yard games. Against good teams he struggled terribly, look at NFC east championship last year...didnt complete a pass until the 3rd quarter. After the ACL surgery he lost a lot of his mobility and was limited to short little scrambles. He cant throw a good slant to save his life, and short passes is what makes the west coast offense. Sure hes got the arm strength but whats the use if you cant complete short passes.

Also lets talk about the intagibles. Guy lives in Arizona, doesnt spend any time with the team until he absolutely has to. He invites 5 guys over to try to build chemistry in the summer....along with DB's from other NFC teams. Donovan has never been a vocal leader, someone who shoulders the blame and carries the team on his back. Teammates dont take him seriously, he clowns the whole time and does stupid $hit (air guitar BS). When have you ever seen him get in his linemen and recievers faces on the sidelines to get them pumped up?? He just stands there waiting for his turn to play, just a spectator. What happened when he got benched against Baltimore?? Instead of taking it like a man and saying "yeah I sucked", he started crying like a bitch and demanded a financial apology from the team (!!!!!!) Im not even gonna talk about the stupid "black quarterback" nonsense bitching.

Most of all, he has never improved. Over the years he has gotten fatter, slower, more relaxed. He built his brand name here in Philly and collected a fat check. Donovan has no fire burning inside. I remember us losing 1 point games to the oh so hated Cowgirls and he goes to share a laugh with the dallas defense as soon as the final whistle blows. F*ck McNabb I guarantee he will get smothered behind the Deadskins non existant offensive line.

very valid points, I don't really see him as a driven qb and a team leader, which is what a qb should do, however he did get the job done for the most part. He seems pretty motivated in Washington already, hopefully he improves on being more of a vocal leader and shanahan has a pretty good offensive scheme.

yea, Mcnabb is a winner, 5 nfc championships, 1 superbowl, in 11 seasons. Paired with shannahan could be something nasty..

I agree.
McNabb is the most overrated QB in the history of the NFL. Along with the points that have already been made, I would like to point out that fact that he is injury prone.
And everytime he did go down with an injury the back up quaterback(s) played just as good as him if not arguably better (jeff garcia, aj feeley, Koy detmer).

idk how someone who wins 65% of the time is overrated...

since 2000, I think only Brady and Manning have won more. Not saying he is a HOFer or even great, however, Kolb is a risk and the Eagles D is downright pourous now

he didn't win 65% of the time, the eagles won. Last time I checked football was a team sport. And if you want to through out percentages Jeff Garcia, Koy Detmer and AJ feeley combined won 73% of the time.

your kiddin me with koy detmer right? your actually trying to compare koy detmer, and a.j feeley to McNabb... I'm a cowboys fan so i have hated McNabb and the eagles for years now but regardless the Eagles won games with him... im just curious how you can call him overrated... how is he overrated? holds pretty much all of the Eagles passing records, only thing he has not done is won a super bowl.. as AE mentioned there are only 2 QB's with more wins since 2000..

He's not overrated, he gets the job done, even analysts say he gets the skins 4-5 more wins this coming season. His presence alone will aid in the confidence factor, and he does well panning the field for receivers, even if it ends up being a rb that gets the ball most of the time. He now has 3 decent rb's (Portis, Parker, Johnson). I'm not saying the skins will now be 16-0, but they will win a few more games this year. Kolb, well, we'll see, do you remember what happened to feely and detmer when they departed from philly?

I'm not saying detmer or feeley are better QB's than McNabb, because obviously they are not. But what I am saying is that any half way decent QB playing for the eagles would have performed well. They are a well built organization. Therefore, (i am also saying) McNabb is given to much credit for the eagles success. Detmer and feeley aside, look at how well the Eagles played with Garcia at QB. And look how they played when McNabb returned.....

The debate can rage on, we'll have to see how he debuts in the regular season with the skins. He is not an over the top qb, but he does win, and even if he doesn't throw for 4000 yards, his presence in the backfield has defenders on their toes because he can pass

I think the Eagles bombed on this move. McNabb is not Montana but he is a pretty damn good QB. The only QB's I'd take ahead of him right now are Brady, Manning, Rivers, Roethlisberger, Schaub, Brees, and Rodgers.

If the Eagles plan to rebuild and start young then I understand but if they're trying to say they improved the team by dumping McNabb then they're full of crap. They should have traded him to non rival.

BTW, if things don't go well for Kolb then they only have Vick as the third option, which is a bad one IMO. They need to get an insurance QB like a Jeff Garcia, Marc Bulger, or Daunte Culpepper just in case.

As if the NFC EAST wasn't crazy enough as it is. Who knows, we may get 3 teams from the NFC EAST in playoffs this year!

Im curious to see what Kolb does. If he blows I am going to laugh at Eagles fans because they begged for sh1t like this for years. Oh well I am partial to the Eagles but wouldnt mind fans getting put in their place.

The back up quarterback is always the fan favorite(or some sh1t like that).

Pretty good and doesnt get the job done wont cut it. Glass McNaab...when was the last time he played a full season? Also, you mention all his CG appearances...to me this shows he couldnt get it done...consistantly. Philly gave away a good QB, but they may have realized they were just going to be considered good but not good enough for years to come.

the backup quarterback was drafted to be the quarterback of the future. everyone is curious to see what Kolb does, but this is the only way to find out. you didnt think Tom Brady coming out of 6th round running a 6 second 40 was gonna win $hit did you? we live here and go to the games, no one is more sick than us Eagles fans of seeing McChoke throw groundballs.

Damn guys don't hate, I'm a big time Steelers fan and I don't wish injury on Brady, Maybe my team winning 2 recent Superbowls has jaded me. About Mcnabb in the short term it's a bad decision imo but business is business.

good deal for both teams, mcnabb will help the redskins for a couple of years and the eagles will move on to their qb of the future and got some good picks to help speed up the rebulding process
