I am not sure how many of the AM bretheren are NHL fans, but I figured that since I did not see a thread here on the NHL, it might be a nice change of pace to start one up.
I am hopeful that the good start to the season for my Devils will lead to a build off of a solid season last year. However, with the issues of NY/NJ sports recently, who the hell knows.

My Flames are simply lost at this point;the grit and toughness of 03-04 became loss with attempted additions of skill, and the team identity went with it! I think they will end up 7th place in their conference, with Edmonton or Colorado winning the NW.
Detroit will make it to the Cup Final once again; though losing to a somewhat surprising team from the East (I saw somewhat, as Montreal is expected to perform this year).
Crosby and Malkin finish 1 and 4 in scoring, Ovechkin 2.
Maple Leafs barely miss the 8th spot in the playoffs, and Ottawa comes in at 5; loses in the first round.
Those be my predictions.

anyways, did anyone try the online streaming application?
I did the free weekend trial, but it was working too well, wondering if it was just because too many people were using it, or opening weekend problems.
Today is the last day for "introductory rates" and it might be my only chance to watch any NHL game I want.

Ron Wilson is the man, and should be able to get a very sub-par team (in terms of talent) to conform to an above-par schematic. We will see, though!

I expect a down year for my Avs. They have had some bad drafts over the past decade, so it was inevitable.
