Snags gets ginormous with lean clean off-season dream bulk

hello all, snags back again with a different twist than you all have seen from me before, as I push an ultra-structured, clean caloric surplus combined with some intelligent power-hypertrophy split training, and a simple yet effective hormonal cycle leading into PCT, for some nasty big gains as I take this physique to world-class new heights

follow along as I drop some insights - maybe you can find something here that will help your own endeavors in gaining quality lean muscle...I will lay out dietary maneuvering, throw out some food pics (of course), and keep you all up-to-date at least weekly with new pics of the physique progress

BASIC OVERVIEW OF STRUCTURE
diet: the first 4 weeks of structure will be a steady increase of cals, starting ~3500 at the very beginning (which was this past Monday in actuality) as I come out of a cut/contest prep for a nationals show I competed in last w/e; finishing up the first week ~4k cals, advancing to 4500 in 2nd week, and hitting 5k in third & 4th weeks...depending on how things are looking composition-wise (ie the goal is to remain lean during this bulk), I may go to 5500 in the 4th week before hitting 6k as I enter PCT, leveling off there..fats will be kept intentionally low, ranging from 65-75g as we increase the cal load
for example, my last training day before rest day yesterday was 3650cals, macros of 430/315/65.5 - carbs are all basically clean and dry, with strategically placed sugar and simple carb loads, complex everywhere else...off days will see a slight dip in both cals and carbs, ie yesterday was 3530cals, 345/375/70 -- carbs will eventually hit 800-850 daily range if not more

training: protocol will be a 3-day double-split routine
#1 - chest/back/abs
#2 - legs
#3 - shoulders/arms/abs
#4 - off
repeat
the first three days are a power scheme, lower reps (6-10 rep range/longer rest periods); the next three days are different exercises in a hypertrophy scheme (8-12 and sometimes 15 reps/shorter rest periods)..fasted cardio upon rising will be done 3x weekly (30min LISS)

supplementation: for the hormonal cycle, I will be running a simple combination of hi-dose trenavar clone and a 6-a chloro dry, non-methylated compound (hexadrone), along with a combination of 1-Alpha + 1-Andro -- the idea is a liver-stress-free cycle providing dry lean gains; the tren is a continuation of what I ran during last stages of contest prep, only now I get to use in a smart bulk instead of a hard cut .. TUDCA is in play while on cycle of course, as is Rev PCT if I need it; exemestane will also be utilized at 25mg daily
PCT will consist of clomid/tamox and exemestane, with Rev PCT Black and PureTest (FINAFLEX) .. this will be run for 4-5 weeks except for the exem (which will be phased out after 2-3 weeks), and the Pure Test extended beyond that for an addtl 2 weeks as I go into down time from all hormonals...sarms will also be in play thruout PCT, and perhaps a bit longer as well
other supps will be very basic, but include our Active Multi, BCAA+SAA, Crea-Trona, Max Pump, and G8

and with that, welcome aboard, and look forward to growing with you :)

welcome aboard all :wavey:

In for the hyoooogeness! So what you're saying is if I ever venture out thru Indy now we're gonna have to house some Brazilian steakhouse???
yup..a new tucanos going up in Noblesville too, right behind the fort wayne opening, so can go to that one if it's closer (it is to me)

alrighty fellas....WOW yet another killer training session this day, I seriously blitzed the wheels with some heavy-ass iron this day, time was just under an hour all told -- and was the 4th consecutive awesome session since coming out of prep
this is going better than what I had even thought, in the early going here...weight ~198 this morning too, filling out just fine

cals were bumped to 3775 this day, macros 475/325/62.5 ... the gradual increases have begun

periWO nutrition:
figured you guys would like this set-up, very pleased with this structure
~30min preWO i'll have 2 scoops BCAA+SAA, Max Pump, and when I go back on stim/preWO product will add Stimul8, then switch to Ignite2 at some point...right as I begin training, I consume a shake mix of 35g glycomaize + 20g isolate (235cals, 35/20/1)
train, then immediately following I have a simple/complex carb mix (60g) with 30g isolate, +4g CreaTrona -- this comes in ~425cals
45 min later, I follow with postWO meal, which is ~675cals, 80/60/12
I absolutely love this set-up, is effective as hell

some food pics of recent meals, random stuff

Ground beef with ketchup and mustard?
yup, extra lean beef with a touch of ketchup, mustard
I usually will only do mustard, but in bulk I will break out some (limited) ketchup every once in awhile

gracias my fellow birthday mate :D

Hey yeah, Happy Berfday! So what does 43 feel like?
Happy fifty! :)
LOL jesus man, you guys just love to age me don't you? :hitwithrock:
for the record, that would be 42 I am now
nice chill day, following an insane chest/back/ab training session
son is taking me out to ruby Tuesday's here in couple hrs, will be sensible with sirloin steak/brown rice/asparagus + salad bar
got me a milky way ice cream bar for dessert when I get home :D
cals will come in ~4200 this day, a smidge high but still pretty clean and solid overall...very important when you are in caloric excess/gross excess for lean bulk (as I will soon be in large excess), that you DO NOT stray too far or too often outside the lines, in order to minimize any potential fat gain
besides - all these tasty clean options I got to choose from, there simply is no reason to get a cheat on at any time...every meal is delicious as it is

life is good in there indeed, I mean I am lovin everything I eat these days -- and there's so much, compared to what I been eating! I cannot even wait/imagine how much fun it will be when I get to 5k & 6k cals, oooooooo sweetness :yup:
today was awesome - should've snapped a pic of dinner, was 1/3 kasha pizza (Mediterranean style) + 1 can chicken breast chunks, 1/4c jasmine rice, salad + dressing + croutons, 650cals 90/45/11.5
totals for day after nice 435cal shake here in a bit will be 4135cals, ~575/345/69 -- it was carb heaven (and again, cannot even imagine how much fun 850g+ of carbs daily will be when I get there) :D

toughest part of day was, as I was preparing dinner for me, I was finishing up my son's 4lb rack of ribs...had just a small bite to see how they turned out (decided not to have any, too much fat just couldn't bring myself to mess around with totals this day) -- and they were simply magnificent; son promply mauled a pound of them right off the top as I ate my dinner LOL, he was in fat heaven ahaaaaa

some pics I did capture today tho:
postWO meal was 2 servings bacon & cheddar chipotle potatoes, 1c raisin bran in 2/3c almond milk, 2 rice cakes, 4oz turkey breast, fresh beans
640cals, 115/40/10

and, me today...weighing in ~201 this morning upon rising

I am simply getting ready to take off, ladies & germs...wait and see, this stack getting ready to change the whole ballgame
workout btw was simply OUTSTANDING, shoulders were thoroughly mauled, did some clean & press work (first time I broke out some Olympic movements in a very long while), then were followed by seated military press behind neck; and, was STRONG! I mean I was just toying with the weights
followed shoulders with bi/tri work, some alternating sets (not supersetting, just casual back & forth), guns were locked & loaded when finished

getting ready to get real serious here

off day today
cals drop to account for lack of activity, carbs reduced for same reason, fat slightly increased to off-set carb reduction, and protein slightly increased as well...so: cals ~3950, 415/385/75
tomorrow we will start off week ~4250cals, and go up from there, carbs will start @550, fat back into 60s range

OMG - just, to die for

so I took another 1/3 of that kashi pizza, spruced it up a smidge by adding a slice of sargento pepperjack cheese and a TBS of sweet baby ray's hickory brown sugar bbq sauce left over from my kids ribs yesterday that I didn't use, and added 1/2 serving of jasmine rice/2 rice cakes/greens on the side along with 1/2 scoop whey isolate -- WOW, freakin unreal good
~730cals, 85/55/15.5

and in other news, a bit of random...so some of you may know, I am moving and been stalling until this show I was in last w/e was over; thought I had found a place, was pretty cheap but wasn't too enthused about it, was gonna work tho...well at the show in Pittsburgh I met a whole slew of ppl, one was a guy from my very own town here; as we're talking on Saturday night, getting ready to part, he says hey btw know anyone who's looking for a condo? I got a beautiful place i'm looking to move...I get all the info, and tell him i'll get back to him but may be interested myself
so it sticks in mind the rest of the trip, all the way home, and into Monday...call the guy Tuesday, we set up time to go see it Wednesday -- when this guy said it was beautiful, boy he wasn't joking; maple wood floors in living room, vaulted 11ft ceilings, brand new carpet thruout, big 1-bedroom place with office/workout area for all my exising things, all the storage space in the world, 2 huge full walk-in closets with shelving, ginormous bedroom, 2 full baths, underground parking, 2 storage rooms in temp-controlled housing off the basement/parking area, 3 courtyards with grills/seating (including one on the roof - 1 floor above me, as I am on 4th floor of 4 floor building) -- and, it's downtown, about 1 block away from the minor league baseball park we got here as well as all kinds of other stuff that is downtown
I never envisioned myself living in the heart of downtown let alone in a condo, but I am excited as hell about this, cannot wait - I move October 15th

no biggie on the elevator really - my car parking spot is right next to the elevators - literally..simple matter of putting in all groceries all at once, riding up to crib, and unloading

Pittsburgh was very cool man, beautiful city actually (at least the part I was on, near river/PNC ballpark couple blocks away)..right downtown
I was surprised myself tbh, always thought the steel city was a dive since the downturn of that industry..not the case

Hey snags, didn't you mention in your last log (around the completion of it) that you may dive into injects? Since the competition was on another level? What'd you decide?

thanks mate..yeah downtown has all kinds of things to do, seriously - concerts, nice new library, new convention center across street from me, the Embassy is down there ~a block down (concerts/plays etc), a park is within short driving distance with pool, and they just refinished the tennis courts so I got new ones to play one...the ballpark was built couple yrs ago, is really one of the nicest minor league parks in the country, very well laid out and atmosphere is very family-oriented - I take my son to couple games every yr..festivals go on down there, fair once a yr etc etc...also, wish I woulda lived down there for last couple yrs, the venue (art museum) where the bb'ing shows were held I competed in twice, Midwest open (Nat'l qualifiers) will now be within walking distance of my crib, how cool would it have been to be able to walk over there, go compete, and just walk home? then walk back for night show...wow

everything all pretty much within walking distance, ima be getting my walk on that's for sure :D

yeah things are in route to procuring on that front, gonna take me awhile to get so in meantime I got some nice orals to use up, then sweet PCT planned...be couple months before I hit the dark side

now that's just plain sexy :hump:

Pad sounds awesome man! The city really isn't so bad, once you adjust to the little inconveniences like traffic - there's a lot of positives to offset all the negatives. Gf lives right next to Forest Park in the Lou & it's def very different from my place in the burbs but it has its own charms. And if we're bored, it's purely our own fault lol

lol...yeah man, excited as hell, and traffic on this particular street is not all that bad tbh - prolly helps it is on one-way street too
our downtown is laid out really well actually, is not where rush hour/traffic jams congregate & occur

forgot to say earlier: had an AWESOME workout (yes again), mauled some chesticles and widened the back, no abs today
50min of pure power/swoleness

and this meal I just got done eating, dinner tonight, was ungawdly tasty..couldn't find my cam off-hand, and was hungry/dint feel like letting my albacore tuna steak get cold (things aren't as good then), so I dint hunt down the cam to take a pic -- you'll just have to imagine:

4oz mesquite albacore tuna steak + 5oz canned chunk white tuna w/ salsa
salad/croutons/dressing + 2 slices pineapple
1/2c old-fashioned oats + 2oz almond milk sprinkled w/ cinnamon
1 serving tomato basil mini rice cakes + 1 full size white cheddar rice cake
740cals, 90/70/12.5

total cals for day after 500cal shake before bed will be 4265, with ~585g carbs
it has been a fun day :D

huge office in there, so will have combo office on one side/workout area on other
when I say it is huge, I kid you not..that room and my bedroom are biggest rooms in place, with living room not too far behind
where it skimps to allow for these huge rooms, is the kitchen and dining area - which I don't mind at all, kitchen laid out well to be able to use both sides/counters at once, and dining room I rarely use regularly anyway (always eating in either office or living room as I watch tv)

as for moving - yeah for sure, actually i'm hiring 2 men & a truck, only will be 4 men so 2 can stay down & load into elevator/keep eye on truck, and 2 can transport up/load into crib..should take no longer than 4hrs all told, from packing up my house to unloading everything
which is good, cuz rate is $200/hr

Gf just used Two Men to get her stuff from the burbs to the city here - they're like 150/hr here but they rocked it out like they were getting paid accordingly. She was really happy with it, so I'm not complaining.
