hey guys, back again. :D

this time, fueled with some Finaflex product, and things are gonna get increasingly nasty over these next few weeks i fear... :paranoid:

thread will be under construction with information going forward, but here's some previews in the meantime to keep you entertained.

the first pic is couple shirts Al and the company sent out (btw Al - XL definitely brother. ;))
my cat found them very satisfying anyway..
and very generous care package as well received..big shout out and big thanks for that! :)

much more to come..hang tight and get comfortable.

this is where snag is at right now.
bw is at ~203 upon waking..i have no clue what bf% is.

currently in off-season as i consider a prep for run at nationals/jr nationals next yr, i want some immediate increase in muscle without corresponding increase in fat. (hmmm, sounds novel right??)
well, i know everybody wants to do it, and that's what my goal is here as well as strive to stay fairly lean this off-season.
i am already right now higher bf% than i wanted to be this off-season, but i am pleased with my progress so far.

taking diet back to gain mode, keeping things extremely clean tho just in caloric excess..
i'm also going to be adding a hormonal product (or two) into the fray, more on that to come..
weights are going to be majority heavy weight/lower reps for awhile, tho i will still have some high rep days in just for change.

for now, supps are fairly basic.
multi
fish oil
preWO (sometimes), varies as to what i use, mainly been super pump max but i'm not partial to it, just got it at stupid cheap price for the product it is, had to pull the trigger..soon will switch over to Ignite2. i loved that stuff when i used it during the summer..
protein powders (of course) - mostly isolates but some blends as well. i also enjoy making my own blends/ratios.
Achilles

so Sunday i began my hormonal run, starting off with 4 caps 1-Alpha daily, split 2/2 @ 8-10hrs apart.
i've got a basic idea of how i am structuring things for the winter at this point, and there will be surprises and goodies in store thruout..
right now, 1-Alpha leads the way.

last couple workouts have been ferociously good..chesticles on SAT were just demolished (had some DOMS yesterday), wheels on SUN were blasted appropriately..rest day yesterday.

for now, feeling really good as we set off on the journey..mind is primed, body is ready and willing - let's do this. :hammer:

time for a small update..
everything cracking along just fine, body/joints feeling great (even if i'm a lil bloated from dietary excursion).
today marks day #9 on 1-alpha..feeling pretty, well, alpha these days. :cool2:

mauled chest SAT, legs yesterday (ATG squats the highlight), fixing to demolish delts and agonize some abs this morning..
strength has been fine, nothing noticed stack-wise yet except that i'm feeling good going into the training sessions, and feel good all day long.
(i am also getting a "feel-good" benefit from the Achilles i'm taking)

the biggest thing (no pun intended muahuahua) i've noticed to this point is increased libido and sexual performance.
it's early yet - looking for some addtl things to fall into place throut this week.

Snags, in this bad boy, looking full and swole. When I first got my shirt the XL was a bit big and the Large was snug on the arms and shoulders now the XL is perfect and the Large looks like I got it from Baby GAP. I walk out of the gym in my Baby GAP sized one so everyone thinks I am swole!

I only have one and it's Large which is just snug that's the way I like it. I am lean enough to rock snug or tight for that matter...

yeah you gotta be lean when sporting tight clothes, for sure..
nothing amuses me more than a fat-ass outta shape individual squeezing into some tight-fitting attire (no offense ladies, but you are the prime offenders here)....

welcome aboard Al! good to see ya.

so yesterday i saturated shoulders with load, had some good volume as well.
4x8/8/6/6 seated military press
3x12/10/10 front DB raise
3x12 lateral raise
3x12 bent-over raises
2x12 front shrugs
2x10 rear shrugs
dint get abs in (was bushed), but i'm not upset if i don't get in direct ab work during off-season. i rarely focus on stomach unless i'm close to a show.

anyway - point is, my shoulders are silky smooth feeling today. Achilles seeming to keep me lubed up well, 1-Alpha doing its thing in the early going..and i'm on track with my plan so far.

Good to hear on the Achilles, I may have to get myself some very soon. Heading into a 5-3-1 program for a few months did my first workout today it was pretty nasty. I will be logging it in this section very soon.

Even though I understand the urge to be a gentleman, I have to disagree on the not to offend the ladies because honestly it is offensive to me to see a woman in a ridiculously low cut stretchy shirt with multiple rolls and back breasts... Even worse in shorter shirts with a roll hanging out the bottom. Honey that shirt was not meant for you. As Joan Rivers said "Just because you can get it on does not mean it fits." I don't have anything against larger or heavy women. I know some that are just downright sexy. However they dress to compliment themselves not accentuate the flaws. Respect yourself, love yourself and dress yourself appropriately. You can be sexy without wearing shrink wrap for clothing. Okay sorry end of rant.

For Abs I have stopped doing all other work and started doing wheel of death twice a week and I have to tell you this is better than all the ab work put together and I don't see a need for anything else .. ever. Every area is pulverized... and it only takes a couple minutes... a couple of very painful minutes true.

i am in agreement. trying not to be anti-PC here, attempt to show tolerance and all that, but....nuff said.
As Joan Rivers said "Just because you can get it on does not mean it fits."

one of the things i was waiting for happened last night..
night sweats. hooge, torrential rivers in my bed middle of the night. :(
i don't enjoy this (obviously), but at the same time it is an indicator of hormonal activity (for me individually)..
ie, a good sign.

diet is in flux right now as i try to nail down perfection. lean gains are the goal, and i abhor fat (see previous post lulz)

Just for curiosity, what kind of weights you move, Snags? I know that bb'ing and powerlifting are two very different sports but I bet muscles that huge got some strength too!

i'm a lil different on that aspect. #s for me are very personal, as i am not a PLer or crazy strong dude..i don't lift for raw strength gains, rather functional strength and appearance. :D
i have trained with guys in the past who squat 700lbs..bench 550..DL 650 etc.
i am not there, and have absolutely no desire to be there.
and, i rather measure strength by continuous strength (longevity & duration with even strength), rather than 1RM and fading out..
for the record - i squat/bench/DL in the mid-3s for reps.

I definitley agree, especially now that I am older and won't see my heavy lifts come back to where they were due to various injuries. I use progresion and strict form with shorter rest periods. Works just as well as heavy load, I make sure I work hard though.

^^^ Snags, we are completely on the same page here, what I lift and what I can lift are two different things, I'm always going for lighter weight/higher reps for richer, cleaner, more dense and striated muscle, that which cannot be achieved with the power-lifting style of lifting. Not to mention the less chance of injury and strain on the joints, ligaments and tendons, allowing for more longevity, etc.

* Just an open FYI for others, I'm not against lifting heavy or power-lifting, just is not my thing nor does it yield the results I'm looking for, this is all my opinion and personal preference... different strokes for different folks!

I can't fight the urge and not lift heavy things right now. I just can't but I am trying to be smart about it. Not going to kill myself or I hope not. I am smart enough in my training to back off quickly when things are not going as they should.

there are some good trade-offs, it's not all bad.
Yah with age your learn now stupid it really is to go for big lifts, unless of course your a power lifter otherwise is usually a dumb idea. Therre are times when a heavy set of 5 reps will make it's way in no problem there as long as you have been progresive and didn't overtax your joints..

You learn how to get the most bang for your buck by doing the least for the most benefit and still maxing out effort to get optimal results. You get better and better at that. The injuries you get from going to heavy are trying to tell you to get your head out of your azz :) ...

Oh and I don't ever want to get old either :) ... so I won't :)

Be progressive but only take what is given and you will get better results over the long haul.

;)

welcome.

so today i blew up the pythons, bi/tri ss day, very basic and 12 sets total each muscle group.
short rest periods made this a very quick workout.
the pumps i've been getting have been incredibly solid, lasting all day.
(i'm speaking of all-over-body muscle pumps, not lower back pumps/cramping)

Sounds like a great workout Snags!

Yeah the wisdom thing is very important, even with my new program I am always going to be lifting about 15% below my maximum for that rep range then just going for a few extra reps on the final work set. That makes it a lot safer than getting buck and going all out every set every time. That design is the only reason I decided to give the 5-3-1 program a shot, built in safety to keep my "Inner Meathead" in check.

My Inner-Meat-Head died when I tore my chest, I guess when the surgically re-attached my chest back to my Humerus, they also surgically removed the Meat-Head, who knows! What I do know is I keep all my workouts around 45-60mins, I go as fast as I can, I get like 16 sets per body part and stay in the 15-20 rep-range and I've never looked better, never felt better and NOOOOO joint pain!
