How would virile mane compare to minoxidil

am I missing something here. I thought someone would have an opinion here. I have used the 15 per cent minox and I just got my VM today. I am thinking of using both together or should I just use one or the other.

It isn't recommended that both be used together. The exact mechanism behind minoxidil is still somewhat of a mystery, and it may in fact overload some of the pathways we used with VM - resulting in less effects.

If you do choose to use them, don't use them together, but try 12 hours apart.

As for efficacy, minoxidil has some limitations, based on feedback and studies, that the ingredients in VM do NOT seem to have (notably minoxidil's best effect seems to be limited to crown area).

just to make it clear just use VM only. I am just trying to fill in the corners of my hairline. I am norwood type 2 or a "mature hairline" just trying to get more of a type 1 look. I just got in the VM today it smells good and i look forward to using it for a good while now. also picked up some renegade pheromone soap and some banish. you are a ****ing chemical wizard dsade. good job.

Thanks :) I just make stuff that I want to use and hope that others do too.

Re: combo - I would lean towards using VM by itself - especially around the front hairline.

Feedback is coming in mostly through private emails and PMs. Most are (understandably) hesitant to post initial results due to desire influencing placebo effect, but there are MANY MANY comments already of darker, thicker existing hair and new growth - comments not only from the users, but from family members, bosses, etc.

I have an idea, a real money maker for you to sell, dsade: balls. Big, hairy, yet attractive nuts. Apparently your customers could use em.

 :welcome:

Schwety, inc. beat us to this product.

The comparison would be the same logical comparison you would make between a clinically proven product and a product that won't even list it's ingredients on nutraplanet.

Nice post, ****.

The listing on Nutraplanet is up to THEM. They have all the information and label facts, but have not uploaded them yet. Why don't you take it up with them, since the ingredients HAVE been posted on the main thread.

EDIT: For the illiterate: Invalid Link Removed

Clinically proven to work 50% of the time.

And who said RPN 'won't' list the ingredients? What's your commercial interest here?

From my experience with Retin-A the sides are pretty harsh (skin irritation) and the payoff in scalp treatment has been shown to be tenuous, at best.

Have you noticed anything from it yet?

Here's my experience of 9 months of use of the Rogaine Foam -- Increased shedding at the outset, irritated scalp, headaches after application, bloated face, no visible regrowth in thinning areas. I quit it after 9 months of 2x a day usage.

It may be clinically proven, but it does not work for everyone and comes with side effects.

I've only been using VM for a little over a week and I've seen some positive changes with my existing hair (thicker, fluffier, fuller, darker), but it's way too early to tell how effective it is vs. Minox...especially when my experience with Minox was not one of the good ones.

I'm just going to apologise to everybody for criticising a product endorsed on this board.

I know it's irresponsible! Supplements can do anything the label says!

retin-a seems to have helped some new hair spout along the hairline. I am thinking I will use the minox at night before bed time along with retin-a and then vm in the morning. I have had great results with the minox and retin-a combo.

do you have anything constructive to say or something to support this or you just feel like being an ******* and **** with someone today?

not tryingto be a **** but either add something constructive or leave this thread alone. thanks

If you want to combine them, then I would switch them. IGF-1, combined with nighttime HGH release, is quite the interesting combination. I would suspect VM will be the desired product at NIGHT, due to TRPV-1 triggering of localized IGF-1 release/production.

We have no problem with critism as it helps us improve the products.

However we have no affiliation with Nutraplanet as far as what they put on the website. We would never hide ingredients on a product we already have out.

Here's an idea - why don't you go check out the writeup and go check out the published studies CITED in the writeup, then actually show an intelligent criticism rather than ignorant cynicism?

Who's endorsing the product? Did AM.com, or Nutra, say 'use this and grow hair', or 'we endorse this product'?

First you say RPN is bad because they 'won't' post the ingredients, when in fact they have clearly posted the ingredients here in this forum, on other sites, and *drumroll please* the bottles we have all received in the mail *gasp*.

Now you imply that RPN is misleading customers. No one has ever claimed that 'VM will grow x amount of hair in x amount of time' or anything close. If anything, there is cautious optimism that it will surpass expectations, which are rooted firmly in solid research. No more, no less.

Now, since you obviously have a problem with this product, why don't you give an example of why it WON'T do what it's supposed to do, or why you're unhappy it's been brought to market?

Do you guys think that this product would be effective for someone who doesnt have MPB but simply wants thicker, denser hair? I am asking this because I have naturally thin hair, Im pretty sure its not MPB because I have a very low hairline, so low it would probably be considered a NW -2 if such classification existed. my hair all over is simply thin and not very dense and I would simply like a thicker denser head of hair.

Follicle density and thickness (under ideal circumstances) is pretty much genetically determined.

I think you would be able to MAXIMIZE thickness and density (countering even unnoticed hairloss), but you won't be able to overcome your genetics and wind up with a fro.

However, it is hard to say how much of your density and thickness IS genetic, and how much is from the effects of androen levels, free radicals, and inflammation.

It would be worth a shot, IMO.

It is understandable and healthy to be skeptical of supplement claims. The more people we have like you the higher standards companies have to hold themselves to.

However a lot of time was put into a lengthy writeup covering the research on these ingredients, which is here:
EDIT: I can't post links under 50 posts. Can someone grab the link from page 13 of the other thread (post 364). Thanks!

Perhaps you did not see it. If you have any questions, feel free to post them up.
