Question about raw and cooked rice

I've searched on google for the last 2 hours, but I can't find a definitive answer.

I'm cooking whole basmati rice and the packet says that 100grams of UNCOOKED rice has 350kcal and 72g of carbs, and 180g COOKED has 200kcal and only 42g of carbs.

Does this mean that cooking 100g of RAW rice will give me 180g of COOKED rice? I.e, does the rice increase in weight as well as volume?

So am I to infer from the packet that the particular brand converts 100g to 180 when cooked? If so then cool, makes for more meals :-D

By the way, I never knew that rice loses so many calories and carbs when cooked, even better I guess.

Well, when you look at it, you add 2 cups of water for every cup of dry rice, so it mostly raises the volume that the rice takes up
