    1 large porterhouse, prefferable butcher bought.
    preheat oven to 500 degrees.
    heat 2 tbls olive oil in pan. while heating up, season meat with salt and pepper, rubbing on by hand. place meat in pan when oil is very hot, about 5min worth of heating on high. sear each side of meat until brownish yellow color is acheived, about 1 min per side. remove and set aside.

    This part is important: gently, and with 1 stroke, slice porterhouse ACROSS grain of meat, not all the way thru, only about qrtr to a half in down. each slice should be about half inch apart. brush on melted sweet butter or margarine, liberally, both sides. place in preheated oven for approx 7 min for medium rare, keep an eye on it. this steak will be outstanding if done correctly. It is reffered to as the kings meal. Enjoy.
