Primordial Performance Presents: GPLC (GlycoCarn)

* Proven to enhance blood flow to muscles
* Decreases lactic acid for improved performance
* Clean crash free energy
* Increases peak power
* Safe for athletes and bodybuilders

What is GlycoCarn® and how does it work?

Our Glycine Propionyl-L-Carnitine (GPLC) is Sigma-tau brand and coined GlycoCarn®. (The only proven GPLC)

GlycoCarn is proven to increase nitric oxide (NO) levels in humans. Higher NO levels increases blood flow to skeletal muscle and the heart, leading to greater oxygen and nutrient delivery both during and after exercise -- aiding in both performance and recovery.

How is GlycoCarn better than other NO boosting products?

You have also probably seen L-arginine and arginine based amino acids such as arginine alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG) and arginine esters being pushed by supplement companies as being the holy grail at increasing NO production.

However, This is a lie.

The truth is, research clearly shows that oral supplementation of arginine based amino acids do not increase circulating NO levels or enhance blood flow, even at doses as high as 20g/day. (1-3) The only time arginine has ever shown a positive effect on blood flow is by large dosages given via intravenouss injection. (1)

While arginine may be the primary precursor to NO biosynthesis, it has not been found to be the rate limiting component of NO production. Rather, nitric oxide synthases such as endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) appears to be the primary rate limiting factor. (4)

This is where Glycine Propionyl-L-Carnitine (GlycoCarn) comes to dominate the market. GlycoCarn has been proven to increase the endothelial nitric oxide synthase and nitric oxide (NO) levels in human muscle. (5) Human clincal trials have also demonstrated Glycocarn to increase nitric oxide (NO) levels from exercise stimulation -

What results can I expect?

The following results may be noticed in as soon as 1-2 weeks -

* More stamina & power
* Bigger, fuller muscles
* Faster recovery

In fact, GlycoCarn is the ONLY ingredient that has been proven to raise NO levels and provide a performance boost in humans after oral supplementation.

Just take a look at the boost in sprinting performance from GlycoCarn supplementation -

How does Glycocarn enhance stamina?

Aside from increasing blood flow and nutrient delivery to the heart and muscles, Glycocan can also control lactic acid levels. (6) Lactic acid is the burn you get in your muscles when they are about to fail.

This attribute is extremely popular in athletes, bodybuilders, and endurance trainers.

Athletes from this study who supplemented with 4.5 gram of GlycoCarn achieved lower levels of lactic acid buildup compared to placebo (despite producing more power than the placebo group) –

How much should I take?

You NEED to be taking at least 4.5 grams of GlycoCarn to experience its effectiveness. This is noted in the studies done on GlycoCarn.

Don’t waste your time anything less than the full clinically proven dose of GlycoCarn.

Does this have to be taken every day or can it be taken only on workout days?

Also, on your website page for this item it lists no reward points for its purchase, and says free shipping for orders over $150.00 instead of the usual $50.00--Why?

Been getting this from BAC for about 3 years. Just a heads up be carefull not to inhale it. It may have the warning on the bag. It was 36 bucks for 60 grams when it came out Sigma-tau has the patent to this and other carnitines. it has been used in the medical field for years prior to becoming commercially avqilible. I used to take 2 grams per day total and got noticable results at this price id like to see what 4.5 grams can do.

Will taking this with a vasoconstrictor like the 1-3,dim in Jack3d negate the pump effects from GPLC? In other words is it worth it to buy this if I take it with Jack3d? Or in your opinions would replacing Jack3d with GPLC give me a better workout anyways?

What's the best way to use this--on an empty stomach, how long before workouts, when on non-training days, etc.?

P.S. I'm getting conflicting info as to whether or not this needs to be taken on non-training days.

Thanks,

I would suggest taking a full dose 30-45 minutes pre-workout.

You can find the powder by clicking the drop down box below the product on the product page.

And the real reason we haven't really been on here is because we've been working on getting you guys the best supplement deals of the year.

Is this recommened to be taken everyday? If it really boosts NO levels, wouldnt that make it a pro oxidant and be a bad thing to take in daily?

That largely depends on what your diet and daily intake of anti-oxidants. There are two types of pro-oxidants: ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) and RNS (Reactive Nitrogen Species). In the environment of a robust NO production, you can certainly have the RNS as a metabolism byproduct. The key is having enough anti-oxidant intake in your diet daily to mitigate the potential for a free radical (RNS) cascade. Some free radical activity is beneficial in terms of stimulating muscle hypertrophy, but if it's not neutralized before it gets out of control those benefits suddenly become detrimental to muscle gains.

Our VitaBerry product was formulated as such (having a robust anti-oxidant profile), and would be a very healthy addition to daily supplementation in these instances; not to mention it's also a very good flavor system for your own powder-based concoctions.

I did a write-up for NOxidant that explains the whole free radical/anti-oxidant situation when I was with RPN. It's another very good product in this regard:

It can be taken everyday to gain the utmost benefits overall (that may not be the most economical for some though), however it will still be a very effective/beneficial adjunct to your daily supplement regimen to just use this on your workout days.

There was an error in the original format of the sale. It should be free shipping on domestic order of $150.00.

Int J Sport Nutr Exerc Metab. 2008 Feb;18(1):19-36.

Effect of glycine propionyl-L-carnitine on aerobic and anaerobic exercise performance.

Smith WA, Fry AC, Tschume LC, Bloomer RJ.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of glycine propionyl-L-carnitine (GPLC) supplementation and endurance training for 8 wk on aerobic- and anaerobic-exercise performance in healthy men and women (age 18-44 yr). Participants were randomly assigned to 1 of 3 groups: placebo (n=9), 1 g/d GPLC (n=11), or 3 g/d GPLC (n=12), in a double-blind fashion. Muscle carnitine (vastus lateralis), VO(2peak), exercise time to fatigue, anaerobic threshold, anaerobic power, and total work were measured at baseline and after an 8-wk aerobic-training program. There were no statistical differences (p> .05) between or within the 3 groups for any performance-related variable or muscle carnitine concentrations after 8 wk of supplementation and training. These results suggest that up to 3 g/d GPLC for 8 wk in conjunction with aerobic-exercise training is ineffective for increasing muscle carnitine content and has no significant effects on aerobic- or anaerobic-exercise performance.

This study is a very small sample and only consisted of 3g/day intake of GPLC.

Check out the studes and info from my previous postings:

What dose of GPLC did you use?

4.5 grams/day of GPLC is what's been shown to be clinically significant with effectS. Check out the references at the bottom of this post.

Glycine is a nonessential amino acid that has numerous effects in the body. It is one of the aminos needed to synthesize creatine, and it can boost growth hormone levels. Glycine may also enhance the firing of nerves that stimulate muscles to contract, which means that it has the potential to increase strength, and it also has shown to markedly boost nitric oxide (NO) levels (at a clinically significant level).

Both Glycine and PLC have shown to independently increase NO production in studies, so they were put together to potentiate effect. GPLC has also shown in research/studies to have a higher affinity for muscle tissue in comparison to other L-Carnitine homologs.

Glycine propionyl-L-carnitine produces enhanced anaerobic work capacity with reduced lactate accumulation in resistance trained males

Pump it with GPLC
Research indicates that when your muscles are loaded with carnitine, it can help reduce the breakdown of amino acids that make up your muscle proteins for energy production. In applied theory, it would be best to take it everyday to achieve this muscle saturation level, however you can still very much acquire useful effects/benefits by just using this pre-work on your workout days.

The clinical study was dosed at 4.5 grams/day; 90 minutes before resistance exercise.
From a previous post on mine. Check out the studies that are listed at the bottom:

GPLC has cumulative properties of enhancing serum NO production/concentration, as well as mitigating serum lactate accumulation. Excessive serum lactate accumulation will begin influence the Ph of the blood (a demonstrative metabolic acidosis). This is the "Burn" you begin to feel as your serum ph drops. This quickly fades as your body body begins to neutralize the lactate after exercise is complete. GPLC has shown properties to help mitigate that factor to a degree allowing you to continue where you would normally begin to fail as a result of the serum acidotic state. This "lactic acid" is a waste product formed from anaerobic glycolysis (break down of glucose in the absence of sufficient oxygen).

Both of these properties described above are beneficial to those engaged in resistance training-based programs; especially in anaerobic-based exercise life heavy weight training.

Check out this little bit on lactic acid as well:
