Would there be any benefits to taking say something like 8 scoops a day while on a calorie deficit or a fast? Just an example say a boxer or wrestler needs to make weight for an event and needs to lose weight in a short amount of time? Would the BCAA's really help preserve muscle with a major calorie deficit?

Does PP's BCAA have all the necessary amino acids for something like this?

Thanks

BCAA's help to synthesis protein so if youre not eating with them they really are not going to have much of a benefit.

trying to make weight- if you plan on fasting at least get something in... perhaps a low cal protein shake mixed with water. can get BCAA's, protein, and only about 100-200 cal depending on scoops used.

They prevent catabolism by taking the place of skeletal muscle protein, as the BCAAs are very easily oxidised and used for energy. You're right about the leucine though, it would help use the protein from whole food meals be used more effectively.

It depends on the severity of the calorie deficit. In an ideal world you'd start your cut early and lose the weight slowly but in cases of 'extreme' dieting the BCAAs would be extremely useful.
