Yah, no offense if you were a powerlifter you would in no way have counted that as a good lift. You basically come down and then halfway down lose all eccentric control, slam it into your chest and bounce it off. This is why half way down you pick up speed and then halfway up you stall it. Next time try lowering it under control, pausing at the chest and pressing up. This prevents this type of cheating. I can easily bounce heavier weight than that off my chest, but in terms of controlled paused reps 320 is my max. I really hope people don't call this good form just because it touched the chest, this type of rep would not be called a good lift in our gym by either strongmen, bodybuilders or powerlifters.

I know what you're saying, but he barely bounced it at all. Pretty good lift IMO. Some people bounce excessively and even worse some people do half reps.

Nice lift. That was a pretty decent touch n go lift, KTW. The dude said he wasn't a PLer in the title.

Please start wrapping your thumb around the bar, though. Do you know how many youtube vids their are of dudes that drop the bar on their chest?

Very insensitive. If you look on youtube you will see that he lost both thumbs in a terrible farming accident. How many vidoes of that can you find? J/K

Not bad for a Konvict :D

Ktw does have a point. You did bring it down pretty fast, doesn't look that controlled. I did "lol" pretty hard when i saw the last half second with the face expression and arms going up. Epic!

Yeah man, Alexander is right that was barely bounced. I think you (KTW) are being a little overly critical, you need to have some pretty good strength regardless to bench 350, period. As for struggling half way up, the guy did say he was maxing, attempting a weight near the limits of his capabilities, so I don't see why that is so criminal. You've never seen anyone struggle with a weight @ a powerlifting meet? You gave some good advice about the grip and controlling the weight more, but in no way would I say that was a shitty bounced cheating rep...

I agree. Nice work bounced or not. NO it wouldnt count in a meet but thats beyond the point. Hell many powerlifter hit a TON of PR bench marks and dont pause the weight he first time. Yes they are two different lifts paused and bump and go but none the less anice lift.

I think if you learn how to get TIGHT you will have that w3eight paused no problem and more as well you'll stay healthy by learning how to get tight

keep it up and 2 x body weight is right around the corner.

The one problem I see though is the spotter, he wasn't nearly vigilant enough. And when you're going suicide grip like that, accidents are way too easy to happen when a spotter isn't paying enought attention. I mean even when you started struggling, he didn't get his hands in the ready position, change posture or anything, he just kept right on watching.

Looks like you'll be buying some more weights soon!
Strong lift man, good job.

edit: didn't realize OP date was April. Gotta be closer to 375 now I'd think.

strong bench, try and controll it a little more. My take on it is this, if you are powerlifter or not try and be in controll of your max singles, as you don't want to hurt yourself. Regardless you are a strong bencher. I don't think you need to pause your reps but be in a little more control on the decent. Good luck with the quest to 400.
