Homemade log press log

I've been looking for commercial log bars but they are monster expensive and they all seem to start too heavy. I want the kids I train to be able to use it but the lightest 10" I could find was from New York Barbell for like $500 and weighed 165 lbs. Anybody have any experience/ideas on making one. I was thinking of something like an old propane tank I could cut on.

I remember there is some company that sells the end plates and inner handles by its self and you can put them in whatever log you wanted. Not sure how much all the hardware weighed.. Lemme see if I can find the site for you

Not sure if this is airtight you guys would be interested but if your handy you can make your own log for a decent price
