Deadlift PR today!

  1. Talking Deadlift PR today!


    I got 415 up this morning! I was so pumped, and tried 425 but ran out of gas 12 inches off the ground, the bar was bouncing to much!!!
    All raw cept i did use a bit of chalk
    2 months ago i was only able to get 365!

    Thought i would share! Got to love westside barbell!

  8. nice man! the last 2 weeks i tried 425 and fing had it like 2-3 inches from ******* and missed it.. last week i got so pissed and hit 420 after missing 425...

    but man at 176? i weigh about 172-174 now, dont u get looks at the gym like that skinny ass person isnt gonna get it? cuz i sure get those hah.

    hahah the same thing happens to me all the time. im one 168, ive maxed out at 340. im able to hit 325-330 for at least 3 reps and i get looks on that all the time LOL

  11. there arent that many ppl at my gym when i go so i dont really get the looks.

    one thing i do hate is when big dudes give you ****, but they can't put up much more than you even if they wiegh 80 lbs more....that did happen the other day when i was deadlifting....

  12. ^^^ YES that happens alot, like ok i get it ur 10 years older than me weigh 240 and u can deadlift 450 DONT look at me tell me to take it slow and change my grip. im pulling 20 less pounds and u got a good 70 pounds on me.. not to mention 10 years of experience.. ill blow his **** out the water in a year let alone 10 years from now.

  15. i love deadlifting. not many people at my gym at home deadlift, but at the college gym i usuallly get a few ppl who try it after me. 50lbs in 2 months is awesome, bro. westside is a good program. i know when i was about at the 445 range i hit a wall and i dropped it for more squats and got a huge boost. good luck and keep gainin!

  16. congratulations! and re: people staring, I'm not that much bigger than you and even when I don't go heavy people stare like they've never seen someone actually ****ing put a ton of effort into an exercise -- i.e. "what the hell movement is that?" (deadlifts, sir).

  20. thanks brotha, you think hitting 455 at 175 then 500 at 185 are within my reach without cycles of PH or steroids well take it back im gettin there without that stuff lol.

    check this out man, 2 months ago I could only do 225. I did 405 2x last week.

    Gratz tho and keep it up.

  22. yea i gained widly too when i first started doing deads but Dec 1 i pulled 405 took like 5 months to add 20 pounds. =( idk why.

    i maxed out a few weeks ago at 435 at a bw of 176.... which is HUGE for me because i am missing fingers on my right hand.... so its really hard to actually fully grip the bar with that hand... only my index finger and thumb can FULLY grab the bar.

  24. On Monday i deadlifted 440lbs x 10 to equal my PB. No idea why i didn't go for 11 but 10 is a nice round number lol. Bodyweight ~170lbs atm.

    !!! damn dudes!! im seeing alot of "skinny" dudes pulling 4+ plates! hell yeah!!! f--k those 200 lb Joe-schmo bodybuilders who half squat 315!

    congrats man keep at it! Westside looks appealing....i might give that a go

  29. JP is that u in ur avatar thing? if so thick as **** for 189

    and btw ppl SPEED days in deadlift are crucial to keep moving up 5-10 pounds a week for ur DL.. i was doing a PL routine and had no speed days that really killed me.. i finally got back to my senses.. do speed deads tommorow
